I was having eye sight and gone for laser surgery last September 2015. Now I went to doctor and he said I'm having eyesight but very minute and suggested me to use it only when I am in front of computer. Is there any way I can reduce my eye sight and avoid using glasses.

How to deal with eye squint in adults? Are there any eye exercises or squint surgery is the only option?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, squints in adults can be treated using several methods, including: eye muscle exercises glasses containing prisms eye muscle surgery muscle exercises can be helpful in treating a form of squints in adults in which the eyes cannot align themselves for close work or reading. However, eye muscle exercises are rarely useful in other cases of squints in adults. Eye glasses with prisms can correct mild double vision associated with squints in adults. The prisms can be worn on the outside of the eye glass frames or can be manufactured directly into the lens itself. Prism eye glasses usually cannot correct more severe cases of double vision where images are far apart or double vision caused by weak or tight muscles. Eye muscle surgery is the most common treatment for squints. Typically, squints occur when the muscles surrounding the eyes are either too stiff or too weak. Squint surgery is usually performed on an outpatient basis using general or local anesthesia. You can often return to your normal activities within a few days. More than one surgery may be needed to treat this condition depending on the severity of the case. Consult an opthalmologist (eye specialist) for detailed information.

This condition is called Eye strain, or asthenopia,in which the eyes get tired from excessive or intense use. It can be annoying, but it tends to disappear with rest. Although it’s not often a serious condition, eye strain could be a symptom of an underlying problem. Eye strain is known to cause fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and headaches Eye strain may lead to other problems, such as: • Headaches • Difficulty Concentrating • Irritability • Burning Sensation • Watery Eyes • Dry Eyes • Photophobia • Eye Pain While studying, taking eye breaks for five minutes every hour can lessen the strain on your eyes. Simply closing your eyes for a few moments can also do wonders. Try standing up, moving around, or taking a short walk to help regain concentration.Regular eye exercises that involve focusing on different distances can help prevent future straining. Blink often. Blinking refreshes and replenishes your eyes naturally. If you are having trouble with blinking due to the dryness of your eyes, try using Homoeopathic CINELUBE EYEDROPS ( HAPDCO) 3 times daily.

I am 17 years old, and a programmer always stick to my computer. I am facing constant headache since 2 months ago. Now reduce the usage of computer but headache is as constant as it was, what can I do?

MBBS, MD - Anaesthesiology, FIPM
Pain Management Specialist, Pune
Headache at young age in your situation can be most likely due to 1.Refractive error (vision defect ). Simple vision check and wearing spectacles accordingly can help. Other causes of headache can be : 1. Tension headache : Pain is band like constriction at forehead. Simple analgesics like paracetamol will help. 2. Migraine : episodes of severe headache, generally one sided and associated with nausea or vomiting, photophobia / phonophobia. Migraine treatment requires lifestyle modifications and painkillers. 3.Sinusitis: Headache with nasal discharge, fever and throat pain. Consult an ENT specialist in such cases. Other causes of headache can be cluster headache, tumour, meningitis, cervical spine diseases, and many more. For relief you can take simple analgesics like paracetamol. Consult a doctor if headache worsens or persists or develop neurological problems like seizures, loss of consciousness or weakness of hands or legs. Consult again if needed for further queries.

At night time lam not able to see objects clearly but in day time its very clear I do not know the reason.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
Hello. Sorry about your eye trouble. Night blindness has various causes associated with it: (1) deficiency of vitamins- vitamin a deficiency, specifically, in young children may lead to night blindness. Prompt dietary modification and administration should be of help. (2) congenital defect: retinitis pigmentosa, heredomacular degeneration, congenital stationary night blindness are a few of the disorders that are present from birth/ childhood that could lead to night blindness. These should be assessed and treated accordingly. There are a few treatment options such as dietary supplements, low vision aid devices, genetic counseling therapy that might have some benefit in for the same. (3) raised intra-occular pressure may at times caused reduced vision at night time/ low illumination. This would be easily detected when undergoing checkup by an eye specialist. (4) certain other infectious conditions may also cause night blindness. (5) certain types of cataract may lead to reduced vision at night time. This can be easily solved by removing the cataract. Thus, my suggestion for you would be to undergo a thorough eye evaluation by a retina specialist and then follow the therapy suggested by him/her. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care, regards.
