Hi Lybrate user, do strengthening and stretching exercises for neck. Do hot water fomentation for 20 minutes. Consult orthopedic followed by Physiotherapy.

As I have lower back pain and sometimes I also feel pain in my buttocks region and it gets switching from right to left or vice versa. What could it be? My xray shows compression in the the last vertebra. Please suggest me whether it is better to see a chiropractor or not?

Physiotherapy and chiro give a kind of massage, exercises etc. That's good. Experience will tell how much benefit you got. However pl take decoction of dashmoola twice a day with Erand sneh20 ml put in it at night for two weeks.

Lybrate-user first of all you have to make sure that you maintain a proper diet schedule i. E. Have breakfast, lunch and dinner on time. Not taking meals at the right time is one of the most common cause of gastric reflux leading to acidity causing throat pain, difficulty in swallowing etc. So first of all make a proper diet schedule and avoid staying empty stomach for long durations.

Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day. Avoid junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Tea. Alcohol. Avoid alcohol consumption. Do pranayama early morning.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Try this for joint pains try this. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

I have lower back pain and I see a orthopedic surgeon after diagnosing my spine xray he said that there is a partial slip on disc (L4) due lifting weights in the gym. Exercise is the only way to re leave pressure over lower back. Exercise should include moderate walk and leg raising exercises by lying on back. Avoid bending forward and lifting heavy weight as it increases the pressure over back causing more problem. Consult privately for any other query.

Met with an accident where in I broke my hip - neck of femur, now 15 months post operation, I still am carrying the screws in the effected area due to which I am experiencing problem in walking. I feel as if I don't have strength in my left leg, while walking. Te pain in the operated areas increases occasionally. Currently I am undergoing Psychotherapy, however that has not helped. Please guide if I should go for some other treatment and how much more time would it take for the wound to heal. Also, when should I go for another operation in order to remove the screws and is it advisable or not. In these days also feeling frictions in injured area at the time of moving leg to walk, sit and sleep.

: Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise. Hamstring stretching Towel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. Seated Hamstring Stretch While sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds Repeat 3 times for each leg.

Hi, do not sit in 1 position for very long, take a small break every 20-30 min. & do stretching exercise. Start physiotherapy treatment and learn posture care and spine exercise. I had fallen while playing cricket on last Saturday so I went for a massage on Sunday but after having bath there was severely pain in my lower back, visited doctor and got the MRI as suggested and doctor has told that it's a slip disc and can't play cricket anymore Pls suggestions required.

A good strength training programme should help you. Pls get yourself examined by a physiotherapist. It will help you deal with your pain better. As of now avoid lifting heavy weights or any kind of strenous activities. Do hot fomentation twice daily. Postural correction- always sit with a small pillow at your low back. Sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises like bridging and bhujang asana x twice daily. Sleep on your back with a pillow under your knees or on your sides with a pillow between your knees. And get vit d levels checked. Go for regular walks follow 30-30 rule when at work. After every 30 min of work. Do 30 sec of stretching or stand and walk a bit.

Hi, Please follow these home remedies to cure constipation: - Eat a big bowl of papaya daily before or after food. - Soak dry fig in water overnight and eat it in the morning everyday. - Add 2tsf of lemon juice and a pinch of salt to a glass of hot water and drink it on empty stomach in the morning. - Eat one medium sized raw potato along with its peel daily. - Include lot of vegeables like cucumber, carrot, onion,beetroot, ladies finger,radish, snakegourd, beans, etc, both cooked and raw , in your diet. - Add 1tsf of pure ghee to a glass of hot milk and drink it at bedtime.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I want to know your detailed clinical history, your relevant investigations, your treatment records till now. It helps me to better understand your condition and prescribe accordingly. Calf pain can be due to several reasons like vitamin d deficiency, shin splints etc. My advise would be to stop physical activity for atleast 2 weeks if you are into sporting activities, initiate physical therapy to strengthen muscles, take adequate supplementation, ice packs and limb elevation, and let me know in around 2 weeks time.
