Malnutrition in Hindi -

Hi Doctor, My mom have a problem that uterus is just moved down lightly and little bit enlarged as the doctor said. Due to that bleeding occurs frequently so the doctor done DNC operation (with GA) at first. But the problem is not cured yet, so the doctor advised to remove the uterus. Since health issues are the major concerns at her age (47 years) I did not want to remove uterus and to know whether there is any physiotherapy treatment for this? we also consulted siddha doctors but they told that there is no treatment in siddha for this problem. I am purely searching any physiotherapy treatment by a gynecologist. Please suggest me any answers. Thanks in advance.

If uterus is in low down position, only permanent cure is the operation. But in some cases, we can defer operation by asking the patient to follow pelvic floor exercise. Pls remember it is purely a temporary measure to delay the operation but not the ultimate solution. Bleeding is another problem that must be assessed properly before operation.

Sexologist,
First do urine pregnancy test, if negative , do her blood sugar fasting level, TSH , Prolactin, FSH, Testosterone, Hb, TC, DC levels, ultrasound of pelvis, if want pregnancy then your semen analysis. If all these are normal then HSG x-ray to see the tubes. Without reports no advice is proper.

I am 21years old there is a small lump in my left breast since 5 to 6 months I am very worried about it is it normal. Please help me?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
You must get the lump checked by a doctor and get sonography and fine needle aspiration done. You are young that's why we would like to avoid mammography for routine screening. Most likely it will be benign fibroadenoma but still one must be cautious.

Hello, if the pregnancy test is negative, then will have to rule out any other problem as there are many causes of irregular menses apart from pregnancy - nutritional deficiency, pcos, stress/ tension, excessive exertion, any other or recent medical condition, side effect of any medication, hormonal imbalance, etc. So, take her to a gynaecologist for examination and required investigation for coming to the final diagnosis and treatment.

All About Mastitis

MD-Gynaecologist & Obstetrician , MBBS
Gynaecologist, Delhi
All About Mastitis

Mastitis is primarily an infection that occurs inside or on women's breasts within the first three months after pregnancy. Sometimes the infection can also affect non pregnant women where it is referred to as periductal mastitis.

What are the causes and symptoms of Mastitis?
The most common reason behind such an occurrence is malfunctioning mammary ducts in pregnant women. Milk stasis or blocked milk ducts happen due to irregular feeding sessions, the baby's difficulty in sucking or not being able to attach optimally to the breast for feeding. The other plausible reason is bacterial infection that has somehow entered the ducts through a crack in the nipple area. Blocked milk ducts carry a lot of stagnant milk that provides the most suitable breeding ground for bacterial cultures. Steps must be taken so as not to pass on this bacterium to the baby who depends on breast milk almost entirely for nutrition.

1. It often manifests itself in the form of redness, swelling, pain, fever and exhaustion, resulting from inflammation of the breast tissues and mammary glands.
2. There is also a palpable warmth and tenderness of the breasts, accompanied by a general feeling of malaise.
3. Other common symptoms include lumpy formations, wedges, burning sensation especially during breast feeding.
4. Nipple discharge, body aches and relatively higher body temperatures might also occur in association.

You must consult with your doctor immediately after the appearance of similar symptoms; promptness is advisable when you are pregnant.

What problems does Mastitis cause?
1. Most commonly affecting nursing and recent mothers, Mastitis poses a pertinent problem in breastfeeding as it causes dysfunctional lactation.
2. Mastitis is therefore also as precarious for the new born baby who is left without its primary diet.
3. Doctors often recommend such mothers to continue breast feeding in spite of the disease, after prescribing some antibiotics which usually work in suppressing the infection after a maximum of 2 to 3 weeks.
4. The affected mothers usually feel too tired to take care of their child while suffering from this kind of infection.

Preventive measures
1. Avoid wearing tight clothes or undergarments.
2. Regularize breastfeeding schedules; do not stop before 6 months.
3. Encourage your baby to feed especially when you experience of build-up of milk.

Homeopath,
Hi, homeopathy is one of the most popular holistic systems of medicine. Homoeopathic medicines are mainly selected on the basis of symptoms given to us by the patient. To make a successful prescription, apart from the treatment through remedies, a lot of counseling and appropriate diet regimen is also required. Take care and god bless you. Thanks.

I am 21 years old. I thought I am having a vaginal infection. How can I killed it.

MBBS, DGO

You just have to get yourself checked and can then take antibiotic accordingly. Do not use soap or dettol to wash in and around private parts as this may lead to recurrent infections. Rather use a vaginal wash for that.

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding - 5 Common Reasons Behind It!

DGO, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Chennai
Abnormal Uterine Bleeding - 5 Common Reasons Behind It!

A uterus has 2 layers the one with a thin layer is known as the endometrium and the thick outer layer is known as myometrium. Menstruation occurs after every 10-14 days post the ovulation. In a normal menstruation cycle, the wall of the endometrium thickens as part of the preparation process of pregnancy. In a normal scenario, the endometrium wall sheds if a woman does not conceive. While doing this the uterus might shed some blood. However, if the bleeding becomes erratic and in higher frequencies, the condition is termed as abnormal uterine bleeding.

Here is a list of reasons for abnormal uterine bleeding:

  1. Young girls: Any bleeding before the first menstrual cycle is termed as abnormal. The bleeding might happen due to trauma, the intervention of a foreign object, problems related the urinary tract, irritation of the uterus etc. Bleeding might also occur due to sex abuse. A qualified gynaecologist would be able to diagnose the exact cause for this condition.
  2. Adolescents: After the first menstrual cycle, there could be fluctuation in the subsequent menstrual cycle accompanied with excess bleeding from the uterus. This is a condition which is treatable and normalises once the ovulation and the hormonal cycle stabilises. However, if the bleeding persists in after 3-4 menstrual cycle, a doctor has to be consulted.
  3. Premenopausal women: There could be a variety of reasons for more than normal bleeding in women between menopause and adolescence. Some of the common reasons are hormonal changes and hormonal therapy for birth control. For women who fail to ovulate regularly can experience conditions such as endometrial polyps, uterine fibroids and uterine adenomyosis leading to excess bleeding from the uterus. Some other common factors of uterine bleeding include cervix infection, pregnancy, cervical cancer, disorders related to clotting, certain illnesses related to the kidney and liver.
  4. Hormonal birth control: Women taking help of hormonal birth control can experience breakthrough bleeding. This often occurs due to changes in the uterus lining. If the bleeding from the uterus persists for few months at stretch, a different birth control pill should be tried. Bleeding can also occur due to due to irregular consumption of birth control pills. If the situation does not improve, it is wise to consult a doctor to get the condition addressed.
  5. Menopausal transition: Towards the end of the menstrual cycle, the period timings become irregular. While the secretion of the oestrogen continues the progesterone flow declines. This phase is known as perimenopause. The sudden hormonal changes lead to an excess fluid secretion by the walls of the endometrium. The whole process can lead to an excess bleeding from the uterus. Even using birth control pills during this phase can lead to excess bleeding. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.

Me and my gf are 20 years old. We had protected sex and she also took an emergency contraception pill after 2 hours. This was in January. However, for the past 2 months, she's having very little, next to none, bleeding. She bled very little once every 20 days. Worried if its a symptom of pregnancy.

Get a urine home pregnancy test done if you haven't done it already. If it is negative visit a gynaecologist as ipill seem to have disturbed the fragile endocrine balance meant for regular menstrual periods. Wait for a couple of more periods and see if she regains the periodicity by itself. Else get a gynae check up done.

Hello- Control your sexual urges and divert them into something positive. Unable to control sexual urge is due to watching porn. Avoid porn and you will be able to control your feelings. It is seen that a person who does sex for the first time after marriage experience more excitement and pleasure thn person who has already experienced it before.
