I am 20 years old. 6 months back I had felt numbness on my left hand (mostly on the fingers) and little pain on my left shoulder. I have taken x-ray and it has shown the presence of cervical rib. Then as per the advice of doctor I have taken some tablets, thn after few days every difficulties have gone. Then after 4 months I had felt the same pain and numbness. I took mri cervical spine and Mr. angiogram, the result showed the presence of cervical rib bilaterally but no evidence of compression. Then I was advised to take Neuro conduction velocity test by the doctor. It shows that severe compression on median nerve at the point of wrist. What shall I do now? Is all these problems happening because of cervical rib? What shall I have to do? Can I get rid of these pain without surgery?

My father is suffering from left body paralysis since April, 2016. Presently, he is able to move his left hand & leg half the way up & move fingers & grab any thing for sometime. He walks with the support of one person. everything seem to be fine until one month ago when he felt some pain in his left knee. & since then, his left leg is not straight & slightly bent from his knee. So, we consulted allopathic hospital in Bareilly. There, after admitting him, the emergency crew told us that they will admit him (my father) in icu & we were not allowed to see him (my father) being in icu. We're in a dilemma if icu is required for such a patient who has almost half-recovered from paralysis. His condition isn't critical at all in view of icu. So, we take him back home. Please suggest whether a patient in such a condition as present is required to be admitted in icu for treatment? Because we're not sure. Kindly suggest please. Thanks in advance.
Question What causes constipation in people with Alzheimer's disease? Janice Oklahoma Answer Constipation can occur in people with Alzheimer's disease. But it is most likely due to a side effect of medication or an underlying medical condition such as dehydration — and not due to the Alzheimer's itself. If unrecognized and untreated, constipation can worsen behavioral problems, such as physical aggression, in people with Alzheimer's disease. Ironically, medications used to treat these behavioral problems can worsen constipation. Increasing fluids usually helps relieve constipation. However, frequent and persistent constipation should be evaluated by a doctor. Often, the cause of constipation is treatable. Treatment may include: Increased physical activity Changes in diet Medications to reduce constipation Constipation is a common complication of some other neurological disorders — such as Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia — which affect the nerves involved in digestion.
