you must continue your level of walking. But use a hinged knee cap and soft cushion sports shoes. Take a break after each 1km walk. Apply ice pack at the end. Your knee will be fine.

Hello Sir, Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -Apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -Find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -Avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -Good posture plays a key role in your spine health, helping to prevent additional back and neck pain and even injuries to spinal structures. Try to be aware of your posture and make good posture part of your normal routine. -head up, shoulders back, rear tucked under -Stand and walk with correct posture -Sit with support -Lift and carry carefully -And finally, keep moving:-Maintaining a static position for too long—more than twenty or thirty minutes at a time—is hard on the back. Prolonged static posture can slowly deplete elasticity from the tissues. By simply moving—be it a change of position, a stretch, or a short walk—the tissue elasticity needed to protect your joints can be restored and the associated discomfort reduced. -Stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -Some Physiotherapy treatment like IFT current can give you relief. -Consult a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your back pain. I am having lower back pain. I am male and my age is 42 years . When I sit down on floor to have my food and get up after sometime there is pain in lower back. Pls suggest some treatment. This pain is there from last six months.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana -- lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I am aged 58 years. Upto the age of 25 used to cycle every day for not less than 4-5 kms per day. Now I am cycling 5-7 kms per day for body fitness. Every day, In the starting used to get leg pain, above knees, not unbearable. However, after 1-2 kms there will not be any pain. Can I cycle every day like this. I am 85 kgs weight. I also used to play cricket from my child hood to the age of 25 and from 25 years of age till 51 years of age used to play Table Tennis.

Its excellent to hear that you have been keeping active even at the age of 58. Well done, indeed! Unless you have persistent pain around your knee or hip you have nothing to worry. You may be having some stiffness of the knee from underlying arthritis. Since the level of pain is bearable, there is nothing to worry.

Hello lybrate-user. Kindly elaborate on your problem, how long it has been, how severe it is, is it more on working and eases out after rest or is it continuous throughout the day, any associated weight loss or fever. Also an xray would help us diagnose your problem better, in the meanwhile you can start with a couple of days rest and follow it up with core and back strengthening exercises for a week. Meri mom ka left leg me ek rod pada hai hip side me pr doctor kah rhe hai ki waha ka bone create nahi ho rha hai aur rod nikal kr phir se opretion kerne ke liye kah rhe hai aur kisi type ka cement bharene ke liye kah rhe hai. Hello lybrate user as due to long period of bending neck might be the pain has increased you can do hot spanging over it is there any swelling over it and do it for a week and reduce your timing for laptop but if it still persist go to an orthopaedics for further management.

Leg pain is a common problem, experienced by people of all ages. Pain can range from a dull ache to severe stabbing sensations. It can occur in one or both legs. There are various causes of leg pain. Hi I am 22 yr old, height 5, 5 and weight 64. I live in pune. I got a lower back problem. Actually it hurts and increase normally when I sit or lay down and this pain shifts around lower back and hips. In standing there is no problem at all. Although I run 3-4 kilometer. But there is nothing wrong with standing position. I visited several doctors and did all tests like mri, x ray etc (note- in mri found mild bone marrow edema in s1 segment on right side adjacent to the si joint) but nothing serious found doctors said. I have taken many medicine but still its as it is and no improvement. Kindly please tell me what it can be and suggest me for the best. And any specialist for such problem please share. Thanks.

This is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Take medicines as prescribed it may have to be further investigated.
