If the vertigo does subside with symptomatic treatment, you have to go for investigations. Most of the time it is because of bppv.

Avoid exposing to cold air. Sniffing may be because of nasal discharge or block. Both may be because of dust-allergy or viral infection. You may try steam inhalation.
