Gerd or gastro esophageal reflux disorder can be treated by taking some prokinetics, which I am sure your doctor would have prescribed. Weight loss should be investigated, it may be related to gerd.

Hi lybrate-user, ayurved can gives you permanent solution. In Ayurveda, Agni is the base (mool) of life, which plays a key role in bio-transformation. In Ayurveda JatharAgni means digestive fire and is present in stomach and duodenum. Grahani is the main site of Agni and both are interdependent. According to Ayurveda, the small intestine is correlated to Grahani, which got its name because of its property to restrain meal. Grahani is the place where digestion and absorption takes place. It is nourished by the strength of Agni. 'Mandagni' is one type of vitiation of Agni, which means weak digestive fire. The food is not digested properly due to Mandagni, which leads to Ama Dosha (accumulation of endotoxins); it is the crucial factor responsible for most of the diseases. COMMON SYMPTOMS OF IBS: (1) Abdominal pain and discomfort. (2) Abdominal Contraction increases after eating. (3) Abdominal cramps with bloating. (4) Feeling of unclear bowel. (5) Chronic diarrhea, constipation or a combination of both. (6) Flatulence. Ayurvedic treatment for IBS gives emphasis on proper digestion, which is often the focus for illness. Ghrani roga is a disease where there is alteration of normal function of Grahani. On the basis of its clinical presentation and pathogenesis IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) can be correlated in Ayurveda with Grahani roga as there is no clear cut evidence of IBS. Grahani is considered as a syndrome with alteration in stool either in solid or liquid form. People suffering from IBS have extra sensitive nerves and muscles in the bowel because of vitiated pitta and vata. Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) affects intestine, which is the part of the digestive tract that stores stool. The attack of diarrhea may occur at intervals of fortnight, a month, 10 days, may even daily. The condition aggravates during day time. Ayurvedic treatment for IBS gives emphasis on proper digestion, which is often the focus for illness. Ayurvedic treatment for IBS may involve medicines along with change in diet and stress relief. You can take online consultation for further treatment and guidance for permanent.

There is no permanent treatment for it. Here are some home remedies to cure acidity...  - Skip the aerated drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead.  - Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday.  - Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity.  - Nariyal paani is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity.  - Drink a glass of milk - everyday.  - Have your last meal at least two to three hours before you hit the sack.  - Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals.  - Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc.  - Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals.
