Healing in diabetes is slower than normal. Control diabetes well and keep the area clean. Allow a week or 10 days for full recovery. It should heal in that time.

fasting <140 and PP <180 is the target ...you need not add other medicines just follow these tips to control diabetes 1-Losing Extra Weight:-helps lowering blood pressure and cholesterol too. For woman: waist of 80 cm or more & for man: waist of 90 cm or more are at risk 2- Constant and regular food timings :-improves metabolic activity and helps in reducing weight. 3- Split your meals and eating in moderate amount:-, improves your metabolic rate as the food u take is not concentrated at one time. 4- No long Gaps and skipping of meals:-. Never miss out breakfast. 5- No overeating:-Never eat in a bulk on one time .Eat your food slowly, chew well. 6- Proper Exercise and work outs:- Brisk walking for 30 min. atleast five times a week is the best and easiest way of exercising. You can also try Cycling, swimming, dancing. Timings for exercise should be fixed and regular. Avoid heavy exercise. Do not eat right away after a workout . 7-constant and regular timings for medication 8-Avoid fried foods and meat: Limit fats and sweets. Rather choose a variety of foods including whole grains, fresh vegetables, salads, fruits, low fat dairy products. 9- Take high-fibre and complex carbohydrates:-like oats as they are easily broken down to basic sugars. Add whole grain foods in your diet. Avoid carbohydrates like white bread, pasta, pizza , candies, and snacks .Instead include high-fiber carbohydrates like wheat bran, flaxseed and methi seeds to your wheat flour. This will increase fibre in your diet.

Hello, It is difficult give the dosage based on the information given. If you are on Glargine 40 units at night, then oral antidiabetes drugs plus another combination like Wosulin 30/70 (it is 30 /70 not 30/50), it is a bit odd. Because you are already on a long acting compound. So ideally there should be a short acting one to check post breakfast and post lunch surge. Another aspect the mentioned glucose levels are not too high, therefore Glargine and oral drugs should be enough to give a better control Ideally fasting target should be closer to 100 mg & PP 150 to 160 mg. Plus HbA1c% <6.8. Thanks.

Random blood sugar 180 mg per cent is higher than normal. You must have been put on some anti glycaemic agent and despite that the level is not normal. Ensure that your diet does not have direct sugar and carbo rich food like potatoes, rice, grapes, mangoes, jaggery etc. As for fruits you may eat 1 fruit of your choice ( 1 in number like 1 orange, 1 apple, 1 banana etc). Keep doing walking exercises within physiological kimits as advised by the hospital post operatively. Avoid stress, it adds to your sugar level through stress hormones.

Please check if you are having abdominal worms or not first. Secondly many a times the urine culture report is negative still the problem persists...this is due to the fact that the bacteria are high in the urinary passage. Moreover if you are Diabetic then you should always maintain hygiene and keep your blood sugar levels normal (by diet-restriction/medicines). Lifestyle changes matter because they can help you recover from a UTI and might prevent another infection: Quit smoking Wear loose cotton clothing and underwear Wipe yourself clean from front to back Choose only fragrance-free personal hygiene products Homeopathic medicines can help you -- do get back to me for treatment of the same.

I am hypothyroid patient, I am taking thyroxine 200 now. Is there any side effect to take this medicine to me?

I am hypothyroid patient, I am taking thyroxine 200 now. Is there any side effect to take this medicine to me?
Mr. Lybrate-user, if you feeling fine with that dose and if tsh levels are within normal (desired) limit, then there is absolutely no problem. Thyroxine is actually similar to the natural hormone produced by thyroid gland. So most often it is very well tolerated. Some times side effects may be seen, early in treatment. But majority of patients do not experience any problems. Thanks.

Hi with dose of thyroxine 75 mcg is your tsh normal? if so then continue the same. Back ache is usually due to no specific exercise to those muscles plus improper postures. You may start a schedule of exercises for abdomen and lower back. Also start on tablet veba plus daily one for about 3 - 4 months.

diabetes diet plays a very important role. You need to be very particular about food choices & timings to control blood glucose levels. Even medicines will not work properly unless you are particularly about food choices. I would suggest you to properly follow the do's and don't of diabetes so to control the blood glucose levels.

What is the blood sugar in the human body and what dose effect the sugar level in the body?

MBBS, MD, Fellowship in Diabetes, Diploma in emergency medicine

What is the blood sugar in the human body and what dose effect the sugar level in the body?
Hello lybrate-user normal random blood sugar level in our body is less than 120 mg/dl, normal fbs is less than 100, normal ppbs is less than 200. Diabetes is a lifestyle disease. Bad dietary habits and sedentary lifestyle are d basic reasons other than genetic. If you have a family history of diabetes your chances of having diabetes in d future increases so you have to do regular blood tests to have an early diagnosis so dat early measures can be taken.
