Physical Activity - How It Can Boost Your Immunity?

Physical Activity - How It Can Boost Your Immunity?

A healthy person can be more productive; increased productivity will eventually lead to success and happiness. However, all of this goes for a toss when you suffer from frequent illness. The frequency of falling sick is also known to reduce a body’s immunity further.

And, exercise is known to boost not only the immune system of the body, but also keeps the bones and the heart healthy, preventing the risk of many diseases and illnesses. It is in the last few decades that various studies and research has confirmed a number of health benefits associated with regular exercise, immunology being one of them.

Physical activity boosts the immune system

Doctors have found that regular physical activities help in boosting the cells that are there in the body to attack the bacteria and other disease-causing microbes when they enter the body. In people who do not exercise at all, these cells turn out to work rather more slowly compared to those who lead an active daily life with a few hours or minutes of physical activities in it. And as a result of exercising, the immune system becomes well-equipped to prevent attacks of germs which could make you sick.

Can doing too much physical activity be harmful?
Physical activity is primarily known for keeping your body in a perfect shape and your weight under control. However, one must understand that it can only help the body's natural immune system when done at a moderate level, as overdoing it can lead to suppressing the normal immune functions instead. If you don’t give your body the rest it requires, the immune system can become weaker than before, making you feel weak, tired and badly run down.

How can you boost your immunity power through exercise?
One doesn't need to be an athlete or start doing heavy weightlifting to boost the body's immunity power. Walking half an hour daily or spending a few hours every week in the gym can help you develop better immunity. Remember, the whole concept behind physical exercise boosting the immune system of the body lies in speeding up the cells of the immune system so that, it can fight off the bacteria. Therefore, as long as an exercise is boosting the cells' functionality, you're good to go, irrespective of whether it's swimming or cycling or regular jogging.

Though, there are still debates on the direct relationship between exercises and how it improves the immune functions of the body, immunologists and allergy specialists have found simple truths about the impact of exercise on immunology. Therefore, outside of helping your body in becoming healthier over time, there’s no denying that regular exercise can help the body in fighting off harmful diseases as well, by boosting its immune power.

Panic Attack - Ways It Can Be Treated!

Panic Attack - Ways It Can Be Treated!

A panic attack is something which can hit a person like a sack of bricks and can really affect him or her. While a lot of people around the world do happen to suffer as a result of panic attacks, not many of them know what they could do to make it end soon and to get back to normal. So, wouldn’t it be a pretty good idea to learn a little about what can be done to control a panic attack?

Symptoms
One of the most common signs of a panic attack is a hike in the rate of intake of air and an increase in the pulse rate of the person at the same time. In addition to this, the person’s palms get sweaty and clammy. A lot of people who experience panic attacks also feel the need to either vomit or defecate when they have one, neither of which can be said to be a pleasant feeling. Dizziness and a feeling of numbness are also quite common symptoms indicating a panic attack.

Causes
The reason why a person usually has a panic attack in the first place is because he or she feels that the degree of control possessed over a certain situation is not to the level that would seem to be comfortable. What is interesting when it comes to panic attacks is the fact that the more a person panics in a specific situation, the more the panic attacks are going to occur in that sort of situation or ones that are similar. For example, if a person is worried prior to a race and runs away from it instead of running the race itself, it registers in the mind as something worth being scared about. Facing up to the fear has great value. Apart from the anxiety factor, certain medicines and physical ailments also sometimes result in panic attacks.

Tips to end a panic attack
1. Hyperventilation is common and a deep breath goes a long way.
2. An alternative to hyperventilation would be to hold one’s breath. The duration for which this should be done is about 10 to 15 seconds. Doing this just a few times greatly helps in returning to normal.
3. A person doesn’t really think when in the middle of a panic attack. Making the effort to do any mental exercise such as backward counting in sets of 3 from 100 helps.

Dear Lybrateuser, - You have tachycardia that is heart beat above the normal range of 60-100 beats per minute - could be due to stress or anxiety, do walking, jogging, swimming, yoga, meditation & deep breathing to reduce it - limit tea, coffee intake to 1-2 cups per day if you have more - also do blood hemoglobin, thyroid panel & ECG to rule out any other problem - reduce your weight by diet & exercise.

Hello, And sorry to see that this is happening during your exams! Sometimes the blood pressure can be elevated when you have a fever or when you are under stress. What I would recommend is to get it re-checked in a day or two when you are a little more relaxed. Avoid drinking coffee that day, and if you consume alcohol, don't consume that either. If you smoke, please stop that as it too can affect blood pressure readings. My feeling is that your blood pressure would be normal. However, if it remains elevated, then you may need investigations.

Don't worry, all minor issues. Reduce alcohol sugar jaggery and starchy foods in diet. Balanced diet is healthier than restricted diet, that should improve the bloating.

We have good homeopathic medicine to control high BP. Besides medicines, do follow certain dietary management to control BP- 1.Reduce intake of salt in your food 2. Fill half your plate with fruits and vegetables. A quarter gets lean protein like baked fish, beans, or chicken. The last quarter holds grains, preferably whole, like brown rice. You’ll still need to count carbohydrates and make sure you're not getting too much sodium. 3. Do walk regularly, of exercises to keep your B.P in control. 4. Caffeine can raise your blood pressure. 5. Whole grains are rich in vitamins and minerals, plus contain fiber, which keeps you full and helps steady bp. Aim for three to five servings of grains each day, and make at least half of those servings whole grains. 6. Beer, wine, and most cocktail mixers contain sugar and will cause your blood pressure and triglycerides rise 7. Favor fats from plant foods. Some options: olive oil, avocado, nuts, and flaxseed. 8. Keep a food diary or smartphone app to track your eating habits, or regularly check in with a family member or friend. Do revert for homeopathic medicines FOR B.P.
