Stone > 1cm, medical management wont help. Surgery is definetely indicated if you have pain. Observation vs surgery is a grey zone in the management of asymptomatic gallstone. I suggest you meet a Gastroenterologist for discussion.

Gastroesophageal reflux can cause sore throat, voice change, chronic dry cough, sinusitis and even chest congestion and asthma. These are called the extra esophageal manifestations of GERD. The best way to confirm the diagnosis is 24Hrs esophageal ph monitoring which is available at most tertiary care hospitals or dedicated Gastro centers. However you can try medicines that reduce acid secretion for 2 weeks, sleep with head end raised by 6 inches. If no benefit even at 2 weeks you need to be evaluated by a pulmonologist and gastroenterologist.
