Nothing wrong you can do. Masturbation is a very healthy form of sexual outlet, do not feel guilty about it. Once or twice a day is very much normal. Nearly 99% of men and more than 60% of women masturbate. It starts from adolescence and goes on in some people even till death. The pleasure (orgasm) from masturbation is said to be unique from sexual intercourse. In men, most of the liquid contains only water and some fructose and hormones. Hence it does not drain your energy. Many equate masturbation/ seminal fluid loss to lack of energy, impotency and so on. Many quacks, religious heads and pseudo healers also propagate the idea that masturbation is a disorder/ and wrongful behaviour and instil fear on the mind of innocent men and women (we can see posters in train and bus stand, offering help for this behaviour). Consult a psychiatrist, if you have excessive masturbation guilt or compulsive masturbation. Compulsive masturbation is when a person continues with frequent masturbation neglecting his/ her other work like education, job or social obligations. In fact masturbation reduces the sexual tension and helps focus on task at hand better.

It is not the right medicine for long term control of anxiety, it causes many long term side effects. Consult any psychiatrist, a SSRI or SNRI group of medications are safe for long term control of anxiety symptoms which you have. All the best.

Hello, my mother is suffering from schizophrenia from last one year, she always cry n smile for no reason actly my nani also had n now last month she passed away. My mother got this from gene n now it has grown so much that it's unbearable for her. As diagnosed by one of the doctor in Bangalore he prescribed olimelt 10 mg she has been taking it for past few months but last month it got over n none of the pharmacy had so unwilling she had to stop taking it but yesterday by god grace we got it last night she slept well but today morning she cried for two times n continuous. I just want to know how many days it will take for medicine to come in section again n keep the things normal?

You need to have a valid prescription and regular review when taking olimelt (olanzapine). There are also many other good companies if the particular brand is not available, consult your psychiatrist for the same. Periodic weight measurement, blood sugar and lipid levels need to be monitored. Usually this medicine is used for initial control and later changed to others, depending on the condition. Do not keep giving the medicine, thinking it is only for sleep on your own. Hope this info helps.

Hi Doctor, For a year, I believe that my bp was increased due to anxiety, but due to forgetful reasons never got it checked. However, yesterday I thought about getting it checked. The reading was 150/90. Then a doctor from my college health center prescribed me two medicines: Amlip 5 and Tofisern 50 for 5 and 10 days respectively. I purchased Amlip 5 but Tofisern 50 is not available anywhere. Is there any other medicine that I can use instead of Tofisern-50? Also, Is it okay to take these medications at my age (21)? How to Control Anxiety and Bp? Thanks.

If increase in BP is due to anxiety, BP medicines should be avoided and anxiety reducing medicine has to be given and BP rechecked. The cause needs to be treated more importantly than the effect. As most patients have normal BP after anxiolytics. If it still persists, then BP medications can be considered. Consult a psychiatrist. All the best.

It is common after loss of love, but usually people recover in about an year. If you are still depressed, consult a psychiatrist. Cognitive behavioural therapy, if needed a course of antidepressants will help in full recovery. All the best.

Antipsychotics also have antidepressants property, and are given based on the type of symptoms and various other factors. So if the psychiatrist has given and there is a positive change you can take. All the best.

You seem to be suffering from Borderline Personality or Emotionally unstable personality. The cause is unknown but research suggests there is an interaction between adverse life events and genetic factors. Neurobiological research suggests that abnormalities in the frontolimbic networks are associated with many of the symptoms There is a pattern of sometimes rapid fluctuation from periods of confidence to despair, with fear of abandonment and rejection. There is a particularly strong tendency towards suicidal thinking and self-harm. They have love-hate relationship with close ones. Episodes of depression are common. Transient psychotic symptoms, including brief delusions and hallucinations, may also be present. It is also associated with substantial impairment of social, psychological and occupational functioning and quality of life. People with emotionally unstable personality disorder are particularly at risk of suicide. Its course is variable and, although many people recover over time. Kindly consult a psychiatrist for remedy.

Hypersexuality can be an independent entity in many, but since you have bipolar disorder and if you have increased sexual desire only off late, it is more indicative of elated mood and you need to consult your psychiatrist immediately to get the dose adjusted. All the best.

Being on antipsychotics for 14 years with paranoid symptoms is most likely schizophrenia. Cannabis and other substance might have triggered the psychosis and it is continuing. Do not alter or stop the medications without psychiatrist advise, as relapse is difficult to treat. All the best.
