Ayurvedic Counselling To Improve Your Relationship

Ayurveda, Ghaziabad
Ayurvedic Counselling To Improve Your Relationship

Holistic science is taking centre stage once again, after their decline in the past centuries since the advent of contemporary medicine. Ayurveda is one such area that helps in reaching and curing the root cause of the ailment that a person may be facing. Couples facing problems or relationships problems are one such area that is also a part of this ancient Indian life science. Let us find out more about Ayurvedic Couple Counselling.

Transformation: Ayurveda seeks to reach the root cause of a problem and transform the life of the patient by dealing with the said problem. For couples, one of the most basic problems is that of stagnation. With the help of the transformation function, Ayurveda helps the two partners in finding a basis for dealing with the old by bringing in the new. In this kind of counselling, couples are usually asked to find something new in each other and things that they can do together to break from the same old routine. This creates a sense of excitement and makes for shared experiences.

Meditation: In Ayurveda, the couple undergoing counselling is usually asked to practice meditation together. This helps in grounding the couple as one unit as they breathe in and out together and get initiated through the path of meditation. With this, a union of the mind, the body and spirit can be possible on several levels where the couple can understand, guide and evolve with each other. When meditation is practiced by the couple together, it is a deeply connecting ritual that also builds intimacy on a whole other level of commitment and togetherness.

Intuition: All people go through change. When we marry, we are young and we subsequently grow old and older with each other. The objective is to grow old together rather than changing to a degree where one partner does not understand or relate with the other. So, as per Ayurveda, it is difficult to align with each other using a sense of intuition that will help in nurturing each other through change, rather than growing apart. This sense of intuition will also bring about better adaptability and adjustment.

Flow of Energy: The main energy between couple is emotion, which can be regulated with Chakra Healing. The play of emotions between two people is what binds together. But this where the subtle balance has to come about so that one does not get overwhelmed with the other. With the help of couples counselling in Ayurveda, the couple will be taught to channel the flow of energy in a positive way to manifest in understanding, good sexual relations, and harmony in cohabitation.

Some unique herbal combos, absolutely safe, are decided by Ayurveda doctor on the basis of feedback, if required. Being open with each other is the key to being happy with couple counselling in Ayurveda.

Dementia - Quick Facts You Must Know About It!

One of the worst neurological disorders to have is dementia. It is a general term used to describe cognitive decline of the brain. It’s not specific disease but denotes several brain disorders and mental illnesses. A person suffering from dementia can have severe impairment in judgment, loss of memory and thinking. Dementia is a very difficult disease not only for the patient but also for their families and caregivers.

Some facts about dementia are as follows:

  • It’s not a mental disorder occurring in old age but it does degenerates with age.
  • An estimation of 47.5 million people worldwide suffers from dementia and 60% of these people live in low and middle-income countries and according to WHO this figure is likely to increase.
  • Every 4 seconds a new case of dementia is reported

Dementia is a collective term to describe the many types of in people, such as

  • Alzheimer’s Disease: It is one of the most common type of dementia accounting for 60-80% of dementia case. People suffering from Alzheimer’s have fewer nerve cells and the size of the brain shrinks.
  • Vascular Dementia: Another most common form of dementia occurring after a stroke.
  • Lewy Body DementiaIt is neurodegenerative condition that involves a protein called alpha-synuclein which changes the brain. Symptoms may be similar to Parkinson’s disease.

Symptoms of dementia can range from mild to moderate to severe that includes:

  • Memory Loss
  • Disorientation meaning inability to focus or pay attention
  • Changes in visual perception
  • Impairment in reasoning and judgment

Dementia can be caused by damage to brain cells or progressive brain cell death. As a result communication between brain cells become difficult. Other symptoms include:

Reversible Factors

  • There are no definite tests for dementia. Doctors and neurologists have to medical history, blood tests and CT scans to find out whether a person has dementia or not. However, the most potent evaluation comes from a set of questions that are asked to a patient suspected of having dementia. The ability to answer those questions correctly is one of the best diagnoses for dementia.
  • There is no specific treatment for dementia as it is not a curable disease and degenerates with time. However, medicines or drugs given for Alzheimer’s can be given to people suffering from dementia.
  • Although results vary depending upon a person’s lifestyle’s and habits, doctors suggest eating healthy, exercising regularly, and stopping smoking and drinking may prevent some types of dementia.
  • The best treatment for dementia is to treat the person with care and love so that they don’t feel neglected.

Dementia is often associated with old age but that is not always true. It is important to gain knowledge and educate others also.

Can I take etilaam 0.5 mg in early morning before going to walk in public place as I have anxiety problem?

Can I take etilaam 0.5 mg in early morning before going to walk in public place as I have anxiety problem?
Hi Lybrate user, Although antianxiety medications like etizzolam can be taken. But they have a propensity to cause dependence and more so ever are not the first line treatment for anxiety. It would be better to consult a psychiatrist and start an antidepressant and or psychotherapy so that antianxiety medications are not needed on a regular basis.

What happens due to the chemical imbalance in our body caused by chronic anxiety & stress? What does imbalance affect our internal body?

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry

What happens due to the chemical imbalance in our body caused by chronic anxiety & stress? What does imbalance affect...
Hi Lybrate user, This is a very good question. Chronic untreated anxiety affects almost all the systems of the body be it neurological, psychological, immune, gastro intestinal, cardiovascular, orthopedic, genito urinary. More so the duration of untreated illness also signifies the prognosis, course and remission of this illness. You can get a lot of genuine articles online (read them with caution and on genuine source). Always better to visit a psychiatrist and get yourself evaluated.

I am 30 years old my mind is so dull, it may be over thinking, depression I am in paramilitary force and not sociable very Introvert. I can't think clearly and concentrate. What are the causes n treatments?

I am 30 years old my mind is so dull, it may be over thinking, depression I am in paramilitary force and not sociable...
Anxiety and depression tend to go together. Introversion is not so bad if you do not let it cripple you socially. You must go and meet with a counselor immediately and if that person advises that you meet with a doctor you must do so and cooperate to your utmost. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved. As regards the concentration you are sure to have hormonal imbalances which may impact your memory because of the chemical but also the distractions that come with it; together with depression I can imagine your problems. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling.

My son is speechless but he can hear everything nicely and his eye contact is ok. Now his age is 26 months but he can't talk. Now what to do?

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Gopalganj
Even you are considering hearing to be normal, consult an ENT specialist from first and then go for BERA if they suggest. If hearing is normal but speech is not there it can be either normal as developmental milestones may vary child to child or problem with association centre in brain or motor speech area which can be ruled out with neurological examination plus neuroimaging or it can be problem with articulation which will be ruled out by ENT specialist itself. So you first meet ENT specialist and then if needed meet neurologist. After that it child has any of problem stated above meet speech and hearing therapist. This would suffice for your child problem.

Myself never smoke or drink alcohol in life. I was diagnosed Anxiety disorder and treated with cipralex 5 mg in 2007 ...
There is not protocol as such but what you did miss in your earlier treatment and even now is the need for counselling in tandem with medication. You again no skills from medication but in counseling you will learn particularly to handle emotions and live a meaningful life. So go and try this for some sure-fire success to wean you off of the medication in due course.
