I am suffering from headaches form 3 years. I will try so many medicine and consult to doctor but it's not clear.

Neurologist,
I am suffering from headaches form 3 years. I will try so many medicine and consult to doctor but it's not clear.
Hi, sorry to learn about this trouble. However, to diagnose you properly, much more information would be needed-- the location, duration, severity of headaches and any associated symptoms; to start with. Any triggers for headaches are also useful to know. However, in general, most common headaches are migraines, which can be mild moderate or severe. As much as they are a pain to deal with, so much so, do not worry or fear them- they can be well managed and are certainly not life threatening! Best,

I have migraine problem. I have checked by many doctors. Even they prescribed lots of tests. But they couldn't find any disease they always said that nothing you have. But when I have headache I can not do any work even my first priority is to take medicine paracetamol and take a sleep, and I always do vomiting when I have headache. This occurs 15-20 times in a month. I need permanent solution for my headache.

Neurologist,
Hello. Sorry to hear about your headache problem. If migraines are occurring as frequently as you experience, you need to take a daily medication to get the situation under control, besides continuing to take SOS medication for acute headaches. Also, it becomes important to observe lifestyle precautions to prevent headaches-- having a regular lifestyle, sleeping well, drinking plenty water, aerobic exercise-- can all help prevent headaches. Besides note what foods could be triggering your headaches. Best,

Hi, Seems like your complaining about having tremors in your hands- which are postural-- that is, they happen when your carrying/ holding something (when your hands are to be held against gravity). Such type of tremors can be a normal occurring or physiological in nature- brought about by fatigue, nervousness, anxiety or any strong emotion. Even excess caffeine consumption can cause it. Sometimes such tremors could indicate underlying thyroid function abnormality. If your 19 years old and otherwise healthy-- can just observe for now. Best,

Namaste. As a Neurologist, the one question in your statement, which I can answer, is the numbness you feel in right upper thigh. It is called Meralgia Paresthetica. Not to worry about it. It's caused because a superficial nerve in your skin gets affected-- usually by sudden weight gain or loss, as in pregnancy, and sometimes by clothing which is tightly fitted at the waist. Usually heals by itself over weeks and months-- don't wear tight clothing at the waist. Medications maybe used of the symptoms are bothersome. Best,

Run, or try any other aerobic exercise. Drink plenty of water. Follow proper sleep hygiene. Talk to close friends/ family/ therapist about what emotional turmoil bothers you. Highly likely these will make you feel a lot better. Best wishes!

Thymus Gland removal is a treatment? Where l get this treatment?
Namaste, Yes removal of thymus gland is one of the things which can be considered to help myasthenia Gravis, but, not everyone is a candidate for it and even if the patient is suitable for this procedure, it is not a 100% cure for the myasthenia.

Hi, most likely your having migraines. They are the most common headache type and they include a spectrum - from minor dull headaches to severe throbbing headaches. Having migraines means you have a sensitive nervous system, in that, various environmental stimuli can give you headaches- it could be change of weather, irregularity of schedule, certain sounds, smells, bright lights. The hot weather by itself may not be triggering headaches, unless you are also dehydrated, or have other triggers- eating irregularly, not sleeping properly, etc. Don't worry and start by making sure you are drinking plenty water as well trying to be regular in sleeping and eating habits.

My mother is suffering from meningioma diagnosed before 1 week through MRI. But doctors said that it is not a problem because it is small and found in mri sometimes in everyone. Is it a serious case? Or need consulting another neuro surgeon? Thanks in advance She has severe headache frequently now a days Is this happening due to meningioma? Mri report as follows Extra axial mass lesion in the right occipital convexity and a broad base towards dura Subtle hyperintensity in the left putamen ischemic or metabolic etiosy.

Neurologist,
My mother is suffering from meningioma diagnosed before 1 week through MRI. But doctors said that it is not a problem...
Hi, Yes sometimes it so happens that a meningoma may be found incidentally which Imaging brain - which means it is not related to her headaches. If the meningioma is small and not causing any mass effects- there is no reason to worry. Perhaps get a follow up MRI brain in a year to see if it's size is stable. From the information you shared, I concur with her doctor's opinion- her headaches could be migraines, which are the most common headache type or tension type headaches- but that cannot be said with certainty without specific questioning about her headaches. PS- the other MRI finding in putamen also is unrelated to headaches, but without looking at the scan I cannot confirm what it actually means.

I have suffering severe headache lasting 2 to 3 hours. Is it migraine. Headache occurs almost everyday specially when I woke up in the morning. After taking pain killers it reduces but not stops.

Yes. These could be migraines- but when they become daily it could be due to anxiety/depression, medication overuse and sleep issues, insomnia or sleep apnea. There are medications which can be very helpful in your condition, but it would be best to discuss those after discussing your medical history and examination.

Mr. lybrate-user- think about it- and I would say this is not the platform to handle such a matter- you'd have to visit a doctor in person! And please don't chose a Neurologist. It would be an obstetrician.

Hi, These headaches are migraines. Make sure you are drinking plenty water to prevent them, 2-3 liters a day or more. Eating regularly (breakfast same time everyday, lunch same time everyday, etc), and a regular sleep/ wake time are also helpful to prevent these. Aerobic exercises, such as brisk walking, swimming, upto 30 mins a day for most days of week work really well to prevent these headaches as well. And of course- deep breathing and meditation can be super!

She seems to have migraines- and based on what you shared (if she is otherwise healthy) you may try ibuprofen 800 mg upto thrice a day- use it as soon as you feel the headache coming on- and take a second tablet as early as half hour, if the first tablet does not give enough relief. Ibuprofen should not be taken on empty stomach and should not be used if you have had GI bleeding/ stomach ulcer, etc.

Morning headaches could be related to Sleep apnea. Typically they go away in an hour/ few hours. Other symptoms of sleep apnea would be: waking up multiple times at night, waking up groggy/ non refreshing sleep, daytime fatigue and tendency to take naps, besides snoring.

These could be essential tremors. They can be controlled with medication- if they are affecting your quality of life- also, some occupational therapy options are available; using wrist splints and weighed utensils. Parkinson's ds can also cause tremors of head and hands- but a distinct issue in Parkinson's ds is slowness of all movements and complaints of stiffness and rigidity, walking in small steps with stooped posture, and as it progresses- memory issues, pain, constipation, can complicate the picture.

Hello, I am 22 years old. I do exercise daily. I go to gym and running every alternate day. I take ashwagandha and gokshura tablets for muscle strength. I also take multivitamin and fish oil supplements after lunch. So doctor is it good to take these many supplements at this age and if not then which supplements can I continue and which ones do I discard. thank you.

Neurologist,
Hi, food is the best medicine. Why take supplements when you can eat a well balanced meal? Your 22. You'll be fine without supplements. Try staying away from processed foods- the pizzas, burgers, sodas, energy drinks, canned foods, processed meats- to name a few.

This sounds consistent with a migraine. They are the most common type of headaches and can vary in location and intensity. Other associated symptoms can be nausea, sensitivity to light, sound (and smells) several options available for treatment based on number of your headaches and other medical factors.

If your symptoms had been in the The first three digits of a hand, it could be carpal tunnel syndrome- a pinched nerve in your wrist. If the symptoms are in last 2 digits of the hand, it could a different type of pinched nerve. If numbness and tingling is in whole hand- it could be neuropathy. If numbness in fingers is associated with neck pain and radiating pain in arm- it could be a pinched nerve in your cervical spine. So based on the information you share, it is hard to draw any conclusions about what you have.
