My dad, 70,had CABG in 2013, he was on Deplatt A 75 initially and then Deplatt 75 since Nov 2017. His platelet counts are around 45000 and hence doc had prescribed Ecosprin 75 in May 2018. However platelet is still around 44000? All other parameters like WBC, RBC, haemoglobin are within parameters. Is it proper to have Ecosprin 75 on alternate days?

First you have to meet a Hematologist to find out the cause of low platelet count. Both Deplatt and Aspirin are antiplatelets .He needs further blood work up to ascertain the cause and accordingly he can b given antiplatelets. Alternate day aspirin will not be the answer.

Sir,I used to smoke when I was 15 old and I stopped that habit after 2 years and know I am 19 and know I have discomfort all over my chest and pain below my sternum and under my shoulder blade. Know I passed entrance exam. And I will get mbbs. I am afraid whether I can pass those medical check up. But I cannot say to this my family. Because if they knew that I had a smoking habit I can't face them. But I should tell them. Before that I need to know whether I have any disease like cancer or something like that. I ain't have money with me. So I need a free cancer detection. If anyone can help me, kindly consult me.

Hi lybrate-user! The best way to clear your doubts is to consult with Pulmonologist or Cardiologist and undergo certain tests as per their advice and rule put any underlying causes. If there is nothing wrong then you need not worry, but if something is wrong before it is too late you can undergo treatment for the same and get cured at the earliest since you have started smoking very recently only so the effects are less. Take care. Be relaxed.

Hi your blood pressure is absolutely normal. But if you smoke quit smoking. If you drink alcoholic beverages limit it's consumption. Exercise daily for atleast an hour. Refrain from fast foods and deep fried food. Rest you appear to be an absolutely healthy individual.

Sir Please clarify with your valuable answer. Why my 1st reading is always high inspite of my proper diet and high exercise almost no junk food etc. Why I get anxious for petty issues also which elevates my bp. I would appreciate a reply with valuable suggestions.

Dear Lybrate user As you mention that you get anxious at petty issue, its enough to cause so many health problems. Whenever one moves around and straightway takes reading ,it is usually high. If you settle down for 10 min. Reading comes down. Sometimes it happens due to anxiety. The best part for which you should feel good is that you are aware of it. Now it is easier to work on it orherwise people cannot understand what is going on with them. Learn relaxation techniques. Be in the company of positive people. Learn yoga and meditation. Many people have found brahmakumaris meditation helpful in such cases. You may try that also. Take healthy food, adequate sleep, keep yourself adequately hydrated. For further help you may consult me privately.

Off course dear Lybrate user. Every cell in our body gets nourished by the oxygen we inhale. When you smoke, you contaminate the oxygen that goes to every cell by mixing tar like- poison produced by nicotine. So not only the heart and kidneys, but also every system in the body gets poisoned.
