Eye Itching can be caused due to bacterial infection such as blepharitis or dry eye condition and even conjunctivitis. Mostly the eyes are affected when exposed to pollutants, dust, pollens, etc. The allergic reactions aggravate the release of histamines which causes itchiness. Certain preservative content in contact lens solution can also lead to the problem. The common visible symptoms include redness, watery eyes, swelling in the eyelids, poor vision and even cough and cold.

Treatment of eye itching depends on the underlying cause. If it is due to an allergic reaction, then antihistamine or antiallergic medication can help relieve itching. For other causes of eye itching specific treatment may be required
