Hello lybrate-user one of the best ways to lose weight is to follow a fixed exercise routine as well. 30 minutes of brisk walking per day will keep you fit as well as boost your metabolism. What you need to do is aerobic exercises which will help increase your metabolism thus helping in the breakdown of fats. Also, I suggest you that for 1 week, try avoiding milk and milk products as well as all food items which contain gluten like biscuits and roti as gluten is a major contributor to weight gain. You can instead have rice rotis, bajra rotis, jowar rotis, etc. Try having green tea 3 times a day instead of milk tea. Green tea is known to speed up your metabolism. A plant based diet is the best thing you can follow to lose weight. Avoiding refined sugars, processed and packaged food will also help in the long run.

Dear patient your Hba1c 6.3 suggest, you could be prediabetic. Hence you are advised to restrict sugar and sweets in your diet. You are also advised to walk for half hour daily to hold yourself landing in to diabetes. Your SGPT and SGOT are raised, there could be problem in your liver or pancreas. You are advised to do liver function test and sr. Amylase test to confirm diagnosis. Stop consuming alcohol, if you are taking it. Regards.

Good Evening. Please do not discard my request. Please read my problem completely. 3 years back my mother suffered TIA attack something like paralytic stroke after treatment she recovered and takes Telma 20, Deplatt 75, Calaptin 40 mg and Avas 5mg. Everything was going on well even though she had little weakness and did not get her complete strength. But however after 3 years suddenly last week she complained of pain in Right hand a pulling like tight feeling then suddenly she felt her Right hand is very weak and is not like her left hand and felt tingling sensation in fingers of Right hand and lost grip in her Right hand. We were very much worried as to what is this after 3 years again. So we took her to Apollo hospital where Dr. asked for few tests like Lipid profile, ECG, 2D ECHO and Carotid doppler some ultrasound tests. All her tests showed normal. So Doctor said nothing to worry reports are normal but it was again a symptom of TIA Paralytic stroke attack. Doctor changed Deplatt 75 to Deplatt 75 A. Which has (aspirin). Our Doctor said nothing to worry its just come and gone. But this put my family and especially my mother in a lot of fear as to why this stroke effect had come back after 3 years when BP and other reports are normal. I need your help to please tell me is anything serious going to happen to my mother? Is it any indication to serious health problem? She again lost her strength and her confidence of recovery and is having sleepless nights from 1 week. Please assist me. Will my mother be completely cured or will these attack keep coming and going. As the meaning of tia goes. The patient recovers completely within next 24 hours. If not. Then we call it a stroke. A tia is said to be a warning for a stroke. Good that she is under proper medications which are given to prevent a major attack. You may ask the physician to take care of her anxiety and give her some reassurances.

How to gain more muscle now? Going to gym for last two years still no bulky muscle.
Hi, If you’re aiming to gain some strength and build muscle, you must follow the points mentioned below: 1.Start exercising. If you’re a beginner, focus on bodyweight exercises like push up, pull up and squat. The basic push up and chin up are invaluable exercises you can do with very little equipment. Increase their difficulty by adding reps or affixing weights to your legs. 2.Consume a balanced diet. It's important to eat big meals to fuel muscle growth while you're training. You’ll need to eat healthy, whole foods that will nourish and restore your muscles. Consume all types of fruits, vegetables, grains, oils and dairy products. 3.Take adequate rest. Many people take this step lightly, but it's absolutely essential when it comes to gain strength. That means you won't be able to work out as hard or lift as much as you otherwise would, not to mention you'll be more prone to injury if you're feeling sleepy. Get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night, possibly more depending on your individual needs, during heavy workout periods. 4.Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Chicken breast, egg whites, fish, pulses provide you all the protein you need without containing any unnecessary fat. 5.Focus on compound movements. Compound movements are those which engages more than one muscle group. Exercises like bench press, squat, dead lift are great examples of compound exercises to gain strength quickly. 6.Lift heavy. If your main aim is to gain strength, you’ll need to lift heavy weights in the gym and thus, lower the repetitions of your sets. Moderate-rep sets are important when training for muscle size. However, to build strength, you're going to have to train with heavier weights, meaning you'll do fewer reps. 7.Limit cardio to once or twice per week. Cardio exercises like running, swimming, and biking are great ways to keep your endurance good and your circulation healthy. However, they aren't the best exercises you can do if your goal is to gain strength. Weight training requires loads of energy, and if yours has already been used up by a long run or bike ride, you won't have enough left over to give weight training your best shot. Limit cardio to once or twice per week so your energy reserves are ready to expend on building strength.

A ?Food Plate? symbol has replaced the traditionally recommended ?Food Pyramid? of the USDA. These guidelines break down a healthy diet into 4 main quadrants on a plate: red for fruits, green for vegetables, orange for grains and purple for protein. A small blue circle attached to the plate signifies dairy products.
Fruits and vegetables occupy half of the plate space, with the vegetable portion being a little bigger than the fruit section. Eating more fruits and vegetables means consumption of fewer calories on the whole, which helps to maintain a healthy body weight. Fruits and vegetables are also a rich source of fiber along with vitamins and minerals.
The other half is divided between grains and proteins. Grains, with emphasis on whole grains make up one quarter of the plate. Protein is a smaller quarter of the plate. The recommendation is to aim to eat different kinds of protein in every meal.
In a major shift from the food pyramid, the Plate does not mention the number of servings for any food group or portion size. Nor does it mention fats and oils.
Remember the following tips for a healthy meal:
Eat less and enjoy your food by eating slowly
Fill half your plate with fruit and vegetables.
Avoid oversized portions which can cause weight gain.
At least half of your grains should be whole grains.
Reduce intake of foods high in solid fats and/or added sugar.
Use fat?free or low fat milk and/or dairy products.
Drink plenty of water. Avoid sugary drinks.
Avoid foods that have high sodium levels such as snacks, processed foods.
Above all, balance your food choices with your activity level.

1. Breakfast- breakfast means break the fast. They provide the body and brain with fuel after an overnight fast.
Without breakfast you are effectively running on empty like trying to start the car without petrol.
Breakfast should be eaten within two hours of waking.
Breakfast foods are good source of important nutrients such as calcium, iron and vit-b as well as protein and fibre.
Breakfast also restores glucose level, an essential carbohydrate that is needed for the brain to function.
Many studies have shown that eating breakfast can improve memory and concentration.
Eating breakfast has long term health benefits. It can reduces obesity, high b. P, heart disease and diabetes.
Some breakfast items:-
Cereals and bread, eggs, milk, upma, idli, dosa, poha, cornflakes, fruit/fruit juices, sprouts, etc.


2. Fruits:- fruits are good source of vitamins and minerals so try to introduce, a portion of your daily diet.
These are essential for the proper functioning of the body rich in dietary fibres.
It also helps to improve the function of digestive tract.
Those who want to loose weight; fruits is an important healthy diet.
Fruit help you to stay away from health complications like stroke, high b. P, cancer, heart problem, diabetes.
Fruit effectively fight skin disorders and promote healthy hair growth.

3. Physical activity:- regular physical activity improves strength and endurance, helps build healthy bones and muscles, helps control weight. Reduces anxiety and stress, increases self esteem and may improve blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
It should be done 60 mins or more of physical activity daily.

4. Brushing;- brushing is important to remove bacteria and freshen breath.
They are an important part in preventing gum disease and reducing your risk of tooth loss and dental problems.

Only 2 mins brushing twice a day can not only save your teeth and keep your smile looking beautiful it can also literally save your life.

5. Washing hands:-
Washing your hands correctly is the most important thing. I protect against a number of infectious diseases such as influenza, common cold.
Proper methods of hand washing:-wash your hand with soap and water for at least 20 sec ds.
Wash the front and back of your hands as well as between your fingers and under nails.
Rinse your hand well under warm running water using rubbing motion.
Don’t use a common hand towel.

6. Benefits of sleep:- sleep makes you feel better, but its importance goes way beyond just boosting your mood or banishing under eye circles.
Adequate sleep is a key part of a healthy lifestyle. Can benefits your heart, weight, mind and more.
Sleep plays a critical role in immune functions, metabolism, memory, learning, and other vital functions.
We should take 6-8 hrs of sleep daily.

When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Strength Training Safely At 50 & Beyond

Have you ever heard of Jack LaLanne? He was the original godfather of fitness. Every year, after the age of 40, he vowed to push himself to be bigger, stronger and faster than the prior year. For example, in 1954 (at age 40) he swam the entire length of the Golden Gate Bridge. He did it again in 1975 (at age 61) while dragging a 1,000 lb boat. Although he did it for publicity, Mr. LaLanne also knew that he would lose strength unless he continued to challenge himself.
As we get older, we also need to challenge ourselves with strength training exercises. Results from a 2014 study from the Muscles, Ligament and Tendons Journal found that the aging process leads to distinct muscle mass and strength loss. They found out that people who are 40 years and older can lose anywhere from 16.6% and 40.9% of muscle mass.
The good news is that a consistent exercise program that includes two to three days of strength training can help reduce the amount of strength lost each year. Here are some great beginner strength exercises for the entire body that do not require any fitness equipment!
