Prevention for Acne

MBBS, MD - Dermatology, DNB
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Prevention for Acne

Acne is not a harmful or a dangerous condition, but is usually a cosmetic problem and may also sometimes be a symptom of underlying conditions.

So what kind of skin care regimen can you have in order to prevent acne? Read on to know more:

  1. Makeup: If your skin is acne prone, you can use non oily makeup or avoid it on a daily basis, if you can. Non oily makeup does not irritate the sebaceous glands, which can end up secreting excessive oil leading to acne breakouts. Non oily makeup and skincare products are known as non-comedogenic, which do not clog the pores. Also, you must remember to remove your applied makeup carefully before you go to bed, so that the pores are clean and get a chance to breathe rather than getting infected. Further, your old makeup needs to be thrown out regularly even if the products do not come with an expiry date. Invest in new makeup every few months and clean your brushes regularly too.
  2. Cleaning Acne Prone Areas: You must wash the acne prone areas with soap and warm water at least twice a day. If your case has been very severe in the past, you can even use a medicated soap to wash the neck, shoulders and back as sometimes, acne spreads to these areas as well. Concentrate on the face and remember to clean it to remove dust, grime and other irritants that come from pollution. If this is not done on a regular basis, the particles can block the pores and lead to infection where the dead skin cells play a major role.
  3. Sweat: After a particularly intense workout session or after a run, you must remember to wash you face and take a shower so that the sweat and oil is can be removed, as these lead to breakouts if they are allowed to gather on the skin's surface and enter the pores. Taking care of your skin with a proper cleaning and hydrating routine is as important is getting the right nutrition as well.

Skin Rejuvenation!

MBBS, DDV
Dermatologist, Mumbai
Skin Rejuvenation!

Sun, skin disorders, aging and even heredity can all contribute to skin irregularities on the face and elsewhere on the body. These include textural irregularities like wrinkles and acne scars, pigmentation changes like freckles and sunspots, or visible blood vessels.

In addition, skin may lose tone, feel less firm, and certain areas of the body may develop cellulite conditions.

Conditions that can be treated with skin rejuvenation and resurfacing include:

  • Static wrinkles: These wrinkles are visible at all times and do not change in appearance with facial movements
  • Dynamic wrinkles: These are expression lines that may appear as folds when the skin is not moving, and deepen with facial movements or expressions
  • Pigmentation: Freckles, sun spots, or other darkened patches of skin result mainly from sun exposure
  • Scars: As the result of acne or injury to the skin, scars may be rolling (a wavy appearance to the skin), pitted, discolored, or have raised borders
  • Vascular conditions: Blood vessels visible on the surface of the skin, vascular lesions that appear as tiny blood-filled blisters or even a constant flush of facial redness
  • Loss of skin tone: Weakening of the supportive skin structures (collagen and elastin fibers) that result in a loss of skin firmness or the development of cellulite.

You can use melaglow plus twice daily. Also, protect eyes with a sunshade. Avoid scrubbing your face. Do not steam or sauna. If you swim, use a sunscreen prior to it and after. Avoid face cosmetics for the time being. You can press powder onto your sunscreen if at all you want to use a cosmetic. Drink two litres of water everyday. Pick up carrots, papaya, pumpkin, black grapes to have everyday. These contain important antioxidants and phytonutrients which vil soften your skin. Do not stress over anything. You can use this do it yourself mask at home which vil give you an instant glow. Mix 1 tbsp puree each of papaya and carrot with 1 tbsp of curd and 1 tbsp of aloe vera. Apply it across your face or dull body part for ten to fifteen minutes and wash it off without soap.

Dear lybrate-user Your problem looks of severe degree. Home made therapy will not help you much. Ideally you should consult with a good skin doctor. He will assess you properly n guide you. You may try orange juice and lemon juice mixed with rose water to apply 2-3 a day. Thanks

Hello, Is this the only problem you are having or else is there some other associated symptoms are also present with it. It can be an allergic reaction or may be your skin is quite sensitive and need extra care of it. Moisturize your skin daily as per your type of your skin. Apply a good sunscreen with SPF 25 to 30 before going out in sunlight (20-30 min. before). Carry an umbrella and a scarf. Drink 10-12 glasses of water daily. Don't rub your skin harshly or roughly. Medication: Use Schwabe's Skin care bathing bar and Aloe Vera cream. Take oral medicine - Schwabe's Natrum Mur. 6x/ thrice daily for 1 week.

Hello there. You need strict dietary precautions. Avoid spicy and oily food. Take more of green vegetables and fruits. Do regular sitz bath at least thrice a day (sit in tub filled with Luke warm water then squeeze and relax your anal opening) use laxative for smooth passage of stools. For medications and further queries kindly consult. Since discharge is coming than fistula should be ruled out once. Better get your self examined by a surgeon. Then only plan for any kind of surgery. Thanks.

Hello, glutathione whether pills, tablets or injections all have side effects on your skin so i would not suggest you to take the pills. Follow these herbals methods to get your complexion back. Firstly start taking a full nutritious diet . A good diet is a nutritional lifestyle that promotes good health. A good diet must include several food groups because one single group cannot provide everything a human needs for good health. And what ever we are eating that reflects on our body and skin. 1. Homoeopathic medicine for fair skin is Berberis Aquafolium mother tincture.take 5 drops of it mix with water , twice a day. 2. Apply this tincture in diluted form on your face with cotton once a day . 3. wash your face with besan and curd , mix a pinch of turmeric also. 5. Apply rose water to your face at night. 6. Apply cucumber juice+ lemon juice+ tomato juice on your face. 7.Apply Multani mitti pack on the face, wash it off after it dries.
