Dear Doctor (looking to be answered by a GI specialist), I'm a 38 years old male. Natively from Uttarakhand hills, living in Delhi NCR since 19 yrs. Before coming to Delhi, I've never had any stomach related problem. I had a great metabolism, and good digestion. Was thin even after eating a lot. However, things gradually turned towards other side as I settled here. Initially I had issues of infrequent constipation, which developed into piles in 6 years of stay. That cured with dietary habit changes like increase in vegetables and fibers etc. I'm a vegetarian with once in a while egg consumption. Since last 4-5 yrs, my weight is gradually increasing even though I eat controlled 3 meals a day, having veggies, dal, and 6 roti in all a day, and 1-2 fruits. Dietary issues had increased day by day. I have a distend stomach now although not very visible. I'm in IT industry mostly sitting and working. My height is 5 ft 4 inch and weight is 68 kg. May daily routine is- I wake up around 6 AM. Have a glass of honey lemon warm water. Go to washroom. Then I take a ginger tea and/ or a green tea. I do practice Yoga for 20-30 mins and read newspaper. During and after that I need to go to toilet again, in all 2 to 3 times in the morning. Bowels are soft, not well bound. Even loose sometimes. After bath I take a healthy breakfast of roti, sabji with curd or buttermilk, and a fruit at around 9 AM. Sometimes I need to go to toilet again after breakfast. I have similar food at lunch in office, and usually take a stroll of 500 mtr-1 Km after lunch. Usually I feel heavy after lunch and urge to go to toilet starts at 3-4 PM. If its very forcing, I go to toilet with mostly very low or no output at all. I usually avoid outside food and junk food. I feel lethargic. Since last 3-4 months, developed stiff back pain in lumber area. This gradual problem of multiple time urge to go to toilet, heaviness, lethargy, back pain is hampering my work, otherwise I'm known to be very active and agile in my work. Off late, I'm also facing memory loss and lack of concentration issue, I'm not finding it interesting to read/ learn new things. I have been smoker, left smoking around 4 years ago. Moderate alcohol consumption, haven't had a drink since 2 months. Thanks in advance for your invaluable advice, and I'm looking for a proper and complete diagnosis before any medication starts.

I will suggest you to stop drinking honey lemon warm water and avoid spicy food in your diet and for memory loss and loss of concentration problems I will suggest you to get your blood checked for aarogyam 15.2 through thyrocare and follow up with reports and I feel that there is some vitamin deficiency which we have to confirm before starting your treatment.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi it's most probably soft tissue injury. Where tissue get injury due to that ball hit. Go for physio session nd have Ultrasonic therapy over there. Most probably it will get relief in 2-5 session only! regards!

Hamstring Stretch Lie on your back with your left leg flat on the floor. Loop a towel or rope around your right foot and pull your leg as far as comfortable toward your chest, while keeping a slight bend at the knee. Keep your back pressed to the floor throughout the stretch. Hold for 10 to 30 seconds and then release. Repeat 3 or 4 times with each leg. Do this stretch 5 or 6 times a week. Short-Arc Knee Extensions In the same starting position as the straight-leg raises, put a ball (about the size of a basketball) under your left knee so that your leg is bent. Slowly straighten your leg. Hold, then slowly lower. Repeat with your right leg. Exercises To Avoid A few of the following exercises can be done safely if you have chronic knee problems; they're on this list because they're more likely to be done improperly. The exercises above are safer, while still giving you similar results. •Full-arc knee extensions •Lunges •Deep squats •Hurdler's stretches.

My mother is 50 yrs old. One or two days in a week, just after cooking she is feeling very tired and her head feels exactly same as we feel during a mild earthquake. She also had spondylitis problem and does some exercise everyday for that problem, as suggested by doctor. We have consulted many doctors. Blood tests, x-ray and ECG were done which looks to be ok. She is also taking some medicines for acidity problem and vitamin tablets as she becomes very sick now-a-days. After consulting so many doctors of different expertise, we are really confused. Dear dizziness is caused due to spondylitis . she have to practice yoga for at least 45 minutes daily. also follow the tips they will help her.. 1. Mix equal parts of powdered fennel, licorice root, basil leaves and coriander seeds. Have ½ teaspoon of this mixture with ½ teaspoon of powdered rock candy (or unrefined sugar) 15 minutes before lunch and dinner. 2.Make a powdered mixture of equal parts of rock candy (or unrefined sugar), fennel, and green cardamom. Whenever you feel heartburn, mix 1 teaspoon of the mixture in a glass of cold milk and drink. 3.Avoid tea, coffee, and carbonated or alcoholic beverages.Especially stop drinking bed tea. 4.Avoid using, ginger, onions, tomatoes, and vinegar in cooking. 5.Curd should be strictly avoided at night. 6. Practice Yoga and Pranayama such as Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Bhastrika Pranayama,Shitali Pranayama and Shitkari Pranayama. 7.Peel two cloves of garlic and crush it. Add this to a glass of milk. Boil it on a mild flame till one-fourth glass remains. Filter and make two equal parts. Drink one part in the morning and the other in the evening. 8.Warm mustard oil or sesame oil (1 teaspoon) with 3-4 cloves of crushed garlic and 1 tsp of ajwain (carom) seeds until it roasts to a reddish brown colour. Ensure that it does not get burned. Massage this oil on your affected areas. After that do hot fomentation with salt potli (bag). 9. Revert back after 10 days.

Hello, Is there any history of injury or hurt to the area? Any underlying medical condition? Medication: Meantime, take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. And wrap crepe bandage over it. Do you use computer for long hours? Is your job sitting or standing for a long? Get back to me thereafter.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am 58 years, diabetic and gone through by pass surgery in 2005. All controls are ok with medicines. Last more than one year issed to deveolpe pain in thigh n calf area after walking for 15 minutes in right leg only wich gets normal on sitting. Nowwithin 4 to 5 minutes of standing or walking it developes in my right leg only. Please advise.

Please get the blood supply to that leg checked by color doplar test if there's a black this may be happening. It is called as intermittent claudication a problem of diabetes.

Stiffness in back & other joints is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do reply back for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. I do not think that cell towers can cause it.

How to Manage Torn Biceps

Do you know you can suffer from a torn bicep accidentally? A bicep is a muscle which begins from your upper arm and is attached to the shoulder via bones and to the elbows by tendons. If you do heavy lifting in the gym or somehow put excessive pressure on that area, chances are you may suffer from torn biceps.

There are two kinds of bicep tears you may encounter:
a. Complete Tears where the tendons are split into two parts resulting in tremendous pain.
b. Partial Tears result when the biceps are hurt but the tendon is not completely severed.
Among the various types of torn biceps, the muscle that is attached to the shoulder experiences the maximum number of bicep ruptures. Suddenly, the bicep tendons get detached from the bone resulting in pain and numbness. You will find a number of sportspersons suffering from this kind of torn biceps.

But why do your biceps get torn?
1. One of the reasons why you suffer torn biceps is a prolonged period of ignorance. If you have been putting continuous pressure on your shoulder, the biceps muscle can weaken over time. Overuse of the muscles can give rise to conditions of tendinitis (inflammation of the bone to muscle connecting tissue) and injuries in rotator cuff which, in future, might result in torn biceps.
2. A sudden injury like falling over your arms or hurting your shoulder can result in torn biceps.
3. Aging is another reason why you can have this complication. Added to this are unusually heavy tasks and overuse of shoulder which can result in this problem.
4. Some steroids such as Corticosteroids are directly related to the weakening of muscles and tendons.

When you suffer from torn biceps, you encounter symptoms such as:
a. Weakening of the elbow and the shoulder. You will find it troublesome to move your hand.
b. Swelling of the elbow with bruises visible on the elbow and the forearm.
c. You find trouble in twisting your forearm
d. You will experience spasms in the muscles.
e. You can also hear a snapping sound of the muscles.

What should you do if you face this problem?
a. Continuous applications of ice packs are a must. Repeat the activity 4 times a day with a duration of 20 minutes. You may need to do it for 2 or 3 days.
b. Avoid activities which put pressure on your hands and shoulders.
c. Consult a doctor immediately and get some painkillers as recommended.
d. If you have complete tears, you may need to undergo surgery. Talk to your doctor regarding that.

Hi Take chandraprabha vati 1-1 tab twice a day...take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day..apply prasarini or pranacharya restopain oil on your leg then massage it and give hot fomentation

Before playing do stretching exercise of both legs tk hot fermentation and muscle relaxant medicine after relief do quadriceps exercise for strength but start in gradually process.
