I am 22 years old I am suffering from mouth ulcer frequently. It remains for few days and automatically recover. What should I do now?

I am 22 years old I am suffering from mouth ulcer frequently. It remains for few days and automatically recover. What...
If the mouth ulcer is causing a lot of pain, gently rub a small ice cube over the spot or rinse your mouth with ice-cold water. You could also chew on a clove bud (lavang) and direct the juice generated to the area where the ulcer is located. Clove buds are a great ingredient to cure sore throat too. To prevent the ulcerated area from getting infected, make it a point to rinse your mouth with a little salt water. Remember, this won’t make the ulcer disappear, but it can help reduce the pain. Honey is a natural humectant. It helps reduce scarring and hastens the process of new tissue growth. This, along with its anti-microbial effect ensures faster healing of the mouth ulcer. Chew a few leaves of tulsi along with some water about three to four times every day. This will help in getting rid of ulcers faster and also have a preventive action against their recurrence. Applying a little coconut oil directly onto the mouth ulcer or chewing some coconut (fresh or dry) helps reduce pain and inflammation and hence, ulcers heal faster. Mix some sugar to crushed khus-khus seeds and consume this mixture for instant relief from ulcers. You could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, or drink a glass of buttermilk two or three times every day. Mouth ulcers left untreated generally go away in a week or so; with these home remedies, you can expect faster relief. However, if you notice an ulcer in the mouth that is persistently present although it does not cause you any pain, do not neglect it or try to treat it with home remedies beyond a few days. Make it a point to see a doctor soon because often, a painless mouth ulcer is one of the earliest signs of oral cancer.

Wisdom teeth which are not fully erupted in the mouth due to lack of space can get infected. They need to be surgically removed by cutting the tooth into pieces. Bone removal if required should be minimum. For further details, you may consult me.

Hi lybrate-user, It is normal to have wearing of enamel with age. If its really bad then you can opt for smile correction and undergo laminates or veneers whichever is good for you. Rest you can use a super soft bristle tooth brush and brush gently.

See a Dr. Immediately. If sensation lasts only as long as the cold and hot items are in mouth then it can be corrected with least discomfort, pain and less money. If neglected then root canal or extraction will be the answer.

The black lesions could be something called melanoplakia. They per se won't cause cancer. However it has been shown that a compound in pan masala called arecholine can cause cancer. Almost 9/10 patients who consume pan masala, tobacco, gutkha will develop cancer sooner or later. So if you stop the habit and take the present medication, things should be fine

I want to know from a ortho dentist and gum specialist, that if a 18 to 20 year old child is gone through the braces and after an year during the procedure the gums starts swelling and increasing is part of procedure or is there any cure to be taken? Is there any chance to reduce the Gums by medicine? How risky and painful is gum surgery in this case? After Gum Surgery is it possible that the gums condition will solve for ever? The braces are still there and the ortho says its not possible for further treatment, Gum surgery is required and then he will again start the procedure.

Dear lybrate-user, inflammatory gum enlargement in response to braces is a well know fact. It often develops from poor hygiene maintenance during therapy. Gingivectomy (gum surgery) is a safe and the only option in cases of excessive gingival enlargement. The gums in extreme cases grow around the bracket and the wire both making treatment impossible. Please feel free to undergo the procedure under the hands of a skilled oral surgeon/periodontist. Hope you find this helpful.

It seems you might be having periodontal problem. C/as pyorrhea. You need to get rid of it. It needs aggressive therapy. You need to make a habit of rinsing your mouth everytime you eat something and brush regularly (once in the morning before meals and once at night after dinner, add a mouthwash for better oral hygiene.
