Gingivitis (Gum DIsease)

BDS
Dentist, Jodhpur
Gingivitis (Gum DIsease)
Gingivitis is an early gum disease. It affects the surface layers of the gum, particularly where the gum meets the tooth. At this stage, there is no damage to the deeper parts of the gums, teeth or bone.

The signs of gingivitis are:
1. Bleeding gums, especially when brushing or eating
2. Redness and swelling of the gum.

The good news is that gingivitis can be reversed.
You might think it is best to stop brushing if your gums are red or puffy. Try to keep brushing, as this will get rid of the bacteria and plaque that is causing the problem. Soon the gums should look and feel better. If not, see your dentist for proper treatment.

chewing cardamom (ilaichi) or clove can help but will not cure the problem. this is basically a kind of gum infection which develops due to deposition of plaque and calculus around teeth. visit a dentist for professional cleaning of your teeth, this will help in removal of these layers. follow strict oral hygiene habits along with the instructions given by the dentist brush twice a day along with rinsing your mouth after every meal. clean the tongue too because food particles also gets deposited on it. you can use antibiotic mouth rinses for a few weeks.

Sir I have a cavity what can I do? Is there is any solution that itself can cure?

•If your cavity in the tooth is caused by decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection.

No that's not enough. You must get yourself examined by a dentist and get your teeth scaled regularly.

There are several causes of tooth discoloration, including: Foods/drinks. Coffee, tea, colas, wines, and certain fruits and vegetables (for example, apples and potatoes) can stain your teeth. Tobacco use. Smoking or chewing tobacco can stain teeth. Poor dental hygiene. Inadequate brushing and flossing.... here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- Mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. for faster result you can go for TEETH BLEACHING from dentist...

Your Tooth Is Alive

BDS
Dentist, Pune
Your Tooth Is Alive

The most exciting thing about our oral cavity is your teeth are alive and not a dead bone. They grow just like your other organs and they do respond to many factors like nutrition, injury and bacteria.

It is important to understand what teeth, saliva, gums are all about. Lets have a quick overview of all the important structures in our mouth.

The anatomy:-

  • There is a structure in the center of the tooth known as pulp. This pulp contains blood vessels that provides nutrition to the tooth and nerves that carries sensation to the tooth.
  • This pulp is extended till the root tips at the bottom through root canals. This pulp is very fragile. Two protective coverings are there to en box the pulp i. E dentin which is yellow in color and it is closer to pulp. Second and outermost layer is enamel which is white in color.
  • The enamel decides the final color of tooth. Stronger the enamel structure the brighter the tooth looks.
  • Then comes the gums (gingiva), it gives the enveloping and protective covering to your tooth. It even acts as barrier and protects the intrusion of bacteria from outside. There are more than 400 species of bacteria that are trying to enter your blood stream through our mouth. Healthy gums provides the protection from all of them.
  • The roots of the tooth is attached to the jaw bone with the structure called as cementum and attachment fiber. This acts as shock absorb er and protects the tooth from biting forces.
  • Every tooth structure has its own role and importance.
  • Apart from gums dentin and other tooth structures serves important role to maintain it into a healthy state.
  • In coming blogs we will discuss the process of cavity formation and other problems in oral cavity.

According to your age you must have history of bleeding from gums or bad breath or any history of systemic disease like diabetease b. P. If it is so rule out the proper cause of swelling or any bone loss in jawbone then will discuss about t/t till that you can go for warm salinegargles.

Once the tooth is decayed, it has to be removed and filling has to be done. Once you done its maintained. Do not wait till you get pain.
