Going by symptoms you narrate, its most likely to be Fissure-in-Ano. If you can let me know the medication prescribed and suggestions provided, I can help you further in the management of your problems. Regards,

Mr. lybrate-user, please be realistic in expectations and imagination. You say you have piles since 7-8 yrs, I suppose you are symptomatic intermittently, and you think it is stage 4. You have pain now. You have changed your habits since 6 months- does that mean you have not consulted any doctor since 7-8 yrs, or have seen a doctor. Coming to solution- if you are able to push the mass inside by yourself- it is stage 3. Getting cure by Ayruveda- I cannot comment on. I would suggest you see a surgeon, get yourself evaluated and you would need a surgical correction, for relief. You would be surprised why you did not opt for this treatment earlier, as many of my patients tell me. What hinders you from seeking surgical intervention is fear, better get out of it, before you develop further complications of your Pile mass.

My wife have a lump in left breast but we don't know is this a cancer or not please help me to know whether it is a cancer or simply a lump.

M.S, MBBS
General Surgeon, Bangalore
As per your question, you are aware that your wife has a lump in her breast. Going by the age, and if there is no family history of having cancer of either breast or ovary, all the probability is that it could be an harmless lump. Nevertheless, it has to be confirmed. It is suggested that you consult a surgeon for further evaluation which includes an Ultrasound of breast (to find out if any additional smaller lumps) and a cytology test if required.

My daughter 16 years old have pain at anus during morning and when she sit an hard bench at school for long. She was cured by homeopathy. But relapse after 1-2 months?

M.S, MBBS
General Surgeon, Bangalore
There are multiple disorders which might produce the above mentioned symptoms, it could be Fissure/coccydynia or even a pilonidal sinus. It is suggested to get clinically examined by a surgeon for a confirmed diagnosis and therapy for the same. However though the few symptoms which you have mentioned are not alarming.

I am 24 years female. I have projection from anus from the age of 17, blood in stool, acidity, burning. While passing stool.

M.S, MBBS
General Surgeon, Bangalore
Symptoms of your problem suggests a fissure-in-Ano, and would probably be Chronic, since you would possibly have a skin tag too. Ideally - dietary modification to be tried first if not already done. I see that you are from kerala. 1. Cut down on meat and processed wheat especially parotta. 2. Increase consumption of green leafy vegetable. 3. Have plenty of water- minimum 2lts. 4. Do not strain or force while passing stools. 5. Immediately after passing stool, take sitz bath (luke warm water with a table spoon of common salt in a basin, and sit for 5 min.) do it for 2 weeks minimum, usually the ulcer starts healing, if no response, then see a surgeon, for clinical evaluation and further medication. In all probability it can be treated with medicines and ointments.
