Hello, during acidity she can do baking soda water mouth rinses, because of nasal cyst surgery there are chances that her sinus are inflamed which is causing pain in teeth. You can consult a dentist to pin point whether the pain is because of tooth or because of nasal surgery.

When I wake up in the morning my mouth is very dry,may i request to inform me reason & remedy,( Age 72 years).

Hi Sir Dry mouth can be caused as a side effect of many medicines or other infections. Also during night time since the mouth is closed there is even less secretion of saliva hence causing dry mouth. Remedy is that you try to sip water & other liquids at short intervals. Also maintain proper brushing esp before going to bed is important. You can also chew sugarless gums to increase the flow of saliva.

Sometime I have swelling in my teeth and some liquid comes from there. What should I do please help.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The type of treatment you have for toothache/swelling will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache/swelling is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache/swelling is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache/swelling can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

RCT treatment taken for two upper front teeth 2 years back and after that on advice crown applied. Now my both original teeth on which crown applied has broken. Dentist advising that your both broken teeth will be removed and after 1 month crown will be applied of 4 teeth I.e two adjacent teeth will be taken for application. I am afraid if these two teeth also broken after 1 or 2 year then I will lost all 4 teeth. Please advice any alternate if available in this case.

Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Master of Dental Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
The reason for broken Crown plus other reasons for establishing the support of inclusion of other teeth are important. Then, a good quality Crown will seldom break. Only will wear and tear with the time and usage.

Recently I have gone through a root canal of my upper jaw teeth, the doctor has advised me further to have a cap fit on the teeth, but I feel comfortable even without the cap. So do I need to listen my doctor or neglect that?

MBA, M.Sc. Dental Science, BDS
Dentist, Delhi
Hello user cap is always required as the root canal makes our teeth brittle with passage of time. Chances of tooth fracture becomes more so it is advisable to go for cap.

I chew gutkha therefore there is a brown tar in my teeth. How should I remove it.

BHMS
Homeopath, Secunderabad
Firstly stop the Gutkha as it can be dangerous to your body. The stain will slowly go away after you stop the habit. You can also go to a dentist to check for oral health and cleaning of the stain.

Whenever I eat something cold or hot I can feel something in my teeth with a bit pain. so, what should I do?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray) to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.
