Hi, appeaarances of black spots after getting pimples occurs very frequently. To avoid having them further, please avoid picking or squeezing the pimples. Also for the existing ones, kindly use a depigmenting cream like aziderm 10%gel at night for 2 hours over the dark spots and use a gel based sunscreen in the morning and afternoon.

Hi, kindly substantiate what peels you have taken for acne so far. Peels are effective against fresh lesions and post lesional pigmentation but not very effective against acne scarring. Kindly avoid plucking or squeezing of pimples, which will help a great way in reducing scar formation.

Biotin is a protien supplement. It will not help much in beard growth. It is useful only as an adjuvant and that also in a small way. In case you still feel the need to have them, you can go for tablet follihair or tablet renocia which are good ones.

Ideally, you need to use an exfoliative face wash containig salicylic acid/ lactic acid. Also I suggest to get some sessions of chemical peels with beta hydroxy acid peels to reduce the oilyness.

For pimples with dark spots, use facelin gel and aziderm gel 10% on alternate night only over pimples. There may be slight burning sensation with aziderm so apply it only for 1 hour initially and then wash off and later you can increase the duration of contact to 3-4 hours. Also please use acne uv sunscreen morning and afternoon over full face.

Hi, this can happen because of excessive heat, excessive oily skin and dandruff and also wearing of tight dresses. Kindly use a powder daily and at night you can use clindac lotion or microbenz 3.5% cream on pimples. There might. Be slight burning sensation and redness initially but will reduce later.

I have a chronic phobia of germs. Because of this I wash my hands 20 to 30 times everyday with Dettol Original Hand Soap. This has led to redness, rough and dry skin, few cuts on my hand's back. Can you please recommend which soap I should use to wash my hands for a soft skin?

Hello sir, ideally if one washes so many times, then you are damaging the natural lipids and this leads to dryness and cuts. So stop washing that many times and apply a good moisturizer which you can pick up from stores. Then all will be fine in a few days.

Does hair grow again after treating as we have been treated for 1 1/2 years by Dr. Batra but no result inspite doing even stem cell so really wonder that can hair be grown again or its just trying by taking customer money without any result.

Hello sir, well I cannot comment on therapies that other homeopathy clinics are giving as I am into allopathy. But as far as stem cells go, there is a particular technique to isolate them from your body either from blood, fat or hair. Only then when we prepare a suspension from it and inject, you can expect results. But unfortunately mostly in the market, these commercial chains don't employ dermatology doctors and hence they give plant stem cells which don't have much results. Also the type of hair loss has to be established, so kindly visit a genuine dermatologist and not people who don't have any degrees and put up hair specialist boards. Then for sure you can experience good results.

I have been getting eruptions on my forearm, chest and inner thighs. When consulted with doctors I was diagnosed with Tinea cruris. When I consume sebifin tablet and apply the ointment it vanishes. But after a short while it reoccurs and spreads viciously. I have also don't a fungal skin scraping test and the results were negative. I feel there is more to this than just a superficial skin problem. Look forward to suggestions or recommendations of any medicine.

Hello, since you are from a humid place like Mumbai, there is a high chance it can be a tinea infection. Koh mount scraping test has to be done by a dermatologist and scrapings have to be taken from edge of lesion and provided you are not on any medications for 2 weeks. If not then go for a fungal culture. And to avoid recurrence, use antifungal powders regularly. Avoid any moisture in the affected areas.

My skin is very dry, I used adacin gel but adacin gel stopped In market, so which gel I used?
Adacin gel is prescribed if you are having a lot of pimples. The side effect of using this is excessive drying of skin on areas applied. So if your skin is dry, please use a moisturizer instead (water based). If you have pimples and want a substitute for adacin, you can use deriva cannot faceclin-a gel.

Hi, use of Dermaroller alone has minimal benefit but if used along with platelet rich plasma or hair meso therapy cocktails will give added benefit. Again depends on what type of hair fall you are having.

I am considering a stretch marks treatment with a radioFrequency micro-needling device, lidocaine 5% is going to be used as a numbing cream, is it safe knowing that I am still breast feeding? If not, what is the explanation.

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, FRGUHS (Cosmetology)
Dermatologist, Bangalore
Hello, lidocaine is classified as a category B drug, so safe to be used in pregnancy and lactation. In your case, it is just a topical use (cream), so the absorption into the body systemically and its secretion in breast milk is very less and would not pose any such risk for the infant during breast feeding.
