Pungent smell comes from my mouth. Unable to move with my friends. Please advise.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: practice good oral hygiene. Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. Don't forget to brush the tongue, too. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. Use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. See your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. Drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. Chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

I have yellow teeth I have used many whitening tooth paste but there's no result worth it please suggest some other remedies to withened my teeth.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

My 1 teeth is becomes sharp from front .is there any medicine to cure this. I have sensitivity problem also in that teeth. please help me.

BDS
Dentist, Rewa
Medicines cannot cure the sharp tooth they can only cure the sensitivity issue sharp tooth can be a result of fracture or attrition. You need to go for a crown over the affected tooth after a proper treatment that will cure your sensitivty as well as sharp tooth both.

" Candida infection" My tongue is under the attack of some yeasty fungus which causes the above mentioned disease. Kindly suggest me some medicines and remedies to cure this disease. Please doctors.

BDS
Dentist, Kolar
Candida fungus is normally found in our mouth. Infection from this fungus hsppens wen ones immunity is suppressed due to long term usage of antibiotics n corticosteroids n few other medications. Stress also plays a major factor. Apply candid oral paint liberally with your finger tips or with help of cotton buds on the affected part of your tongue twice daily for a wk. Continue till the patch disappears. Drink plenty of fluids.

Have a bank job that requires me to have 50% time travelling. But am having a shearing pain in my gums for the past 5 days. Unable to sleep or chew without pain killers. Kindly advice.

Hi lybrate-user if you are having so much discomfort, I would suggest you see a dentist wherever you are, so at least the cause can be identified and appropriate treatment options discussed. You can then opt for complete trratment there, or at least get some temporary measures to relieve the pain long enough for you to get to your home town where you can get the more long term solution from your regular dentist.

He is just 10 months old n is having a vomiting tendency while eating, cerelac, even he has not grown teeth, kindly prescribe any medicine that he could be fed without any anxiety. Thanking you.

MDS - ORAL MEDICINE , DIAGNOSIS AND ORAL RADIOLOGY, BDS
Dentist,
Your baby is fine. It's a general tendency to vomit at this age, as they are new to swallowing solids. It takes some time for them to adjust. It's better to mix more water into cerelac until he is comfortable with solid.

Respected doc I have also pain in my wisdom teeth from 3 days. what I do to relief? please help me.

BDS
Dentist, Ahmedabad
If the wisdom tooth has erupted fully and in a proper position then we can save it by dental cement filling. If the cavity is deep and near or into the pulp then we can save it by root canal treatment. Ideally we should save natural tooth structure if its fits in above criterias. If the wisdom teeth has erupted in a such way that it's disturbing other tooth structures and we don't have any option left for saving it then only you should go for removal. The wisdom tooth usually causes pain because of its uneven position distrubing adjacent teeth and some times swelling of the tissues around the tooth causing pericoronitis ( i.e inflamation of the surrounding soft tissues ) causing pain. Wisdom tooth which is usually considered as an extra tooth having no role in mastication (i.e chewing of food) On other hand removal of wisdom tooth have much advantages rather than any disadvantage.. Retaining wisdom tooth some times results in food lodgement within and between adjacent tooth ,results in caries ( decay ) of the adjacent tooth. So for improper erupted wisdom tooth, removal is the only and best available option to the date. Which in turn also helps in preserving other tooth structures.

I am having teeth pain but in xray no cavity is shown what can be the other reason for pain. Please advise.

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Cavity isn't the only cause for pain. There are many other reasons: gum problems infection in the gums/pus formation cracked tooth food deposites around the teeth stress on joints show out as tooth pain chipped off teeth so necessary to pin point problem for pain.

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist, Jamshedpur
Hi bleeding is the indication of gum disease known as gingivitis. It happens due to plaque and tarter deposition between gums and teeth. Go for cleaning and bleaching. Rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine mouthwash. Brush regularly two times daily.

Taking a large no. Of medications often leads to a dry mouth. Increase your fluid intake or ask your dentist about an artifical saliva product or chew sugarless gum after a meal to keep your mouth moist.

I have teeth problem my teeth pains on taking any cold substance ps help very serious conditions here will be very thankful to you.

BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
Kindly get a check up done at the dentist. You might have a cavity which might be deep. And only after taking xray one can judge. Whether a filling is required or root canal treatment.

No toothpaste will give your father a permanent relief. A reason for pain has to be diagnosed first. Take your father to your nearest dentist.

Do not use your teeth for doing something other than chewing food. Using them for cracking nuts, removing bottle tops or ripping open packaging can result in chipped or broken teeth.

Chewing a sugarless gum after your meal for around 20 minutes freshens your breath and also make the leftover food particles cling to it.
