Do not use your teeth for doing something other than chewing food. Using them for cracking nuts, removing bottle tops or ripping open packaging can result in chipped or broken teeth.

Today I went to doctor before tooth impression he shaped my tooth which removes all white part and my teeth almost reduces in size and also feeling sensitiveness now. My doubt is tooth size is reduced and feeling pain now which I never felt before. Is there any chance to feel the same senstivity in future after placing my cap or incase of cap failure.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, yes tooth becomes sensitive after the reduction of crown portion, but do'nt worry after the crown is placed this sensitivity will subside and there is very less chance of sensitivity in future. Also try to clean and brush properly around the margins of crown as their are chances of food accumulation and subsequently infection.

Gum diseases can be treated and reversed in their initial stages very easily. By getting the accumulated tartar and plaque removed by a dentist, there is a chance that they can get better without much ado.

Get root canal treatment done on that tooth if possible as soon as possible, if you take more painkillers your liver may get damaged.

Hi , I had widow teeth nut that teeth is coverd by sidelayer skin and that teeth is broken it to pieces twice now I am unable to chew right side due to skin covered the teeth please help me with a solution.

MDS - Orthodontics, MDS
Dentist, Zirakpur
If i correctly understand Sunil .You have a wisdom tooth that is partially chipped or #ed.Usually in such a case when the skin covers the tooth .Its b coz there is insufficient space of the teeth to erupt .Extraction of the tooth is the only choice and a sane one at that coz food will keep accumulating between the wisdom tooth and tooth in front damaging the both teeth.Hope this helps

I am 36 years male. What advise for me related to my gums soiling and bleeding also in gums past three months.
Ur condition is gingivities, you need dental scaling following a massage paste for gums for 3mnths. This is conservative treatment if this did not give any result than you can proceed for subgingival curettage.

One of my front tooth in the upper jaw is overlapping slightly with the other front tooth, due to this the tooth beside the overlapping tooth has grown a bit on the underside of the overlapping tooth, if I want to straighten my teeth what are the possible ways of doing it? And will this straightening process in any way affect my facial structure? Currently I am 21 years old.

The only way to correct it is orthodontic treatment. You r in a good stage of growth period to undergo the treatment. You teeth will straighten in a period of time enhancing your smile. No damage occurs to facial structures.

In 2008 I got my right side lower jaw wisdom tooth removed next tooth root canal was done in September this year severe pain started visited dentist he took an X-Ray & said infection in root canal as it was not properly done. Re-Root canal got done but again suddenly pain started Dr. advised to take Metrogyl 400 for 5 days pain stopped, cement filling was done & Cap was fixed but from second day pain again started I visited Dentist again he says will remove cap & filling keep it open with some cement in it for few months the infection will automatically go & then he will fill & fix the cap is this procedure correct? Please advice.

Dentist, Hyderabad
Dear. This is very unfortunate that your RCT was not properly done. When root canal treatment works, it is a great treatment–a great way to save your tooth. However, in about 5% to 15% of the cases, a root canal or endodontic treatment will have failed. Right now your doctor is killing infection and bacteria using antibiotics and allowing it to become infection free before sealing it again. It is the only way left. Just get an xray done again to see if there is any extra canal that need to be sealed or a sinus have developed. Continue with your medications.

If there is less space for wisdom teeth to erupt or it is not erupting in normal occlusal position then it will cause repeated infection and pain. you should get it extracted.
