If child is playful, when fever is down, it is viral. Give paracetamol for fever and wait for 2-3 days. If he seems dull/worsening meet your pediatrician.

Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hello, She should be ideally weighing 20-24 kgs, but it depends on the height, bone weight etc. You cannot go by the numbers completely. Check her immunity, activity levels, her concentration etc. They are better parameters to judge. Feed her healthy homecooked meals.

My daughter age 3 year do not want to eat anything. We are mainly rice eaters. She is greedy for junk foods but do not want to eat the main course. Now a days if we force to take food she vomits after taking a little food. Please give me a solution of this problem. She is getting thiner and thiner day by day.

MD Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Hyderabad
Once children get habituated to junk food, its difficult to manage, parents need to deal such situation with love. Not forcefully feed her, just give her options or awards for eating normal food or diet instead of junk food. Ask her what she wants to eat, and try to prepare it at home.

My baby boy aged 40 days, giving feeding regularly my nipples become pain and having trauma. Advice me.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
Correcting your nursing technique can go a long way toward letting cracked nipples heal. Sometimes just the slightest change in positioning will make a world of difference. Feed on the less injured side first, if you have one. Babies often nurse more gently on the second side since they’re less hungry. Apply a cold pack to numb the injured area before nursing. Cold can help dull the pain, particularly during the initial latch, which tends to hurt the most. After breastfeeding Clean your nipples gently, Use an antibacterial ointment if you have an open wound, Take painkillers like ibuprofen about 30 minutes before nursing can help lessen pain and swelling.

Sir hm logo ko 1 baby hui h 5 /6/16ko. But meri wife ne Av tk use breastfeeding nai karaya h. Qki baby nursery me h. Meri wife k dono boobs Bahut hi hard ho gaye h. To kya ye breastfeeding na karane ki vajah se h. Aur agar Aisa h to kya mai uska breastfeeding kar sakta Hu. Isse Mujhe ya use koi problem you nai hogi. Please help us.

MBBS MD DCH, Dch
Pediatrician, Muzaffarpur
A normal newborn baby should never be put in nursery but advised rooming in that is staying with the mother soon after the birth of baby. The process of suckling the mothers breast must be initiated within half an hour after birth. The early baby is put on breast greater is chance of successful lactation. It is most unfortunate that nursing homes still have the primitive idea of keeping normal healthy baby in nursery. Well in your case it is breast engorgment that can be tackled with frequent hot foment at ion and frequent suckling of breast by baby. Family support is very important. I am sure by this simple practice mother shall no longer have breast engorgment and baby shall be put on exclusive mothers milk. Best wishes.

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Hello, Due to factors like weak body stature, hormonal disturbance, previous infections decreases the quantity of breast milk in feeding females. It can be corrected naturally with the help of Galactagogue herbs of Ayurveda. For the time being increase your milk intake, if possible take full milk meal whole day, massage your body with coconut oil and have a sound sleep of at least eight hours.
