Tips To Prevent Sleep Disorders

1. Maintain a healthy lifestyle such as eating well, drinking water regularly, avoiding stress and maintaining a healthy weight. Frequently, individuals develop sleep disorders due to stress or obesity.

2. Establish a regular schedule for sleep. Wake up and go to bed at the same time everyday, including weekends. Establishing a regular sleep schedule will train your body to sleep soundly on a consistent basis.

3. Avoid taking naps throughout the day. If you take a nap during the day, then you will be less tired at night, be more restless and may not sleep as deeply.

4. Abstain from smoking, drinking alcohol or ingesting caffeine because they can keep you up at night. Even though alcohol makes you sleepy, it obstructs the quality of your sleep.

5. Exercise regularly so that your body will be tired, but do not exercise for 3 to 4 hours before you go to sleep, because it may energize you.

6. Refrain from eating heavy meals for dinner, which can make you feel uncomfortable and will prevent you from sleeping well.

7. Create a bedroom that is quiet, dark and a comfortable temperature, which will promote sleep and avoid disturbances.

8. Sleep on your side with your head slightly elevated to prevent the symptoms of sleep apnea.

9. Construct a bedtime routine such as reading, meditating or bathing. Having a routine will train your body to recognize that you are preparing for sleep, which will help you to fall asleep easier.

10. Use your bedroom for sleep only. Do not work or do any other tasks in your bedroom if possible. If your bedroom is used only for sleep, then you will associate the room with sleep, which will aid in falling asleep faster and sleeping deeply.

11. Get out of bed and engage in a non-stimulating activity, such as reading until you feel sleepy again. Sometimes lying in bed when you are not able to sleep makes it more difficult to feel sleepy.

Dates can be used in diabetes as it has low glycemic index. it is a rich source of iron.it can be taken by all age groups

Dear Please drink at least one glass of water every 2 hours. Lack of water can cause acidity leading to migraine. Also, make sure you are eating a lot of fruits and vegetables, chewing the food properly. When there is undigested, oily, preservative rich, un-natural an stale food in the diet, it leads to acidity. This will also cause pimples, rough skin, hair fall, sleep disturbances etc. At you age, make sure you follow healthy diet and exercise habits. Regards.

I am 22 years old. I am suffering from fits. It came 5 times till now. Last 3 years before it didn't came. Last 3 days back it was attacked. It first attacked on 2009. Up to now I used eptoin 100mg tablets (two tablets per day. Please give permeanent recover solution.

Parkinsons disease is a neurological illness. It has chronic and gradually progressive course. It occurs due to some neurochemical activity/ imbalance in brain in the form of reduced dopaminergic activity and increased cholinergic activity. Medicines are available for treatment of this disorder like levo-dopa, syn-dopa, carbi-dopa, ropinirole, pramipexole, amantadine, trihexyphenidyl, benztropine etc. You may consult a neurologist or physician who may start the therapy at the earliest. With medicines symptoms can be controlled but medicines should be taken for years and may be for whole life. In later years of life he may require your assistance in daily care also. I wish your father a better health.

I have been suffering from sleep disorder for the past few years. Without the support of sleeping tablet or a couple of alcoholic drink I will not be able to sleep. If I don't take either of this it will take a very long time to fall asleep and that too will be a very disturbed sleep. Please give me some advice to overcome this.

Physiotherapy is the solution. Because once clotting occurs it takes time to heal up. Area supplied by the vessel will become necrose and leads to anxiety symptom. Kindly consult neurologist and and give good psychotherapy to mother through the doctor.

Sir, My age is 50 and I am having problem of cervical. Doctor said cervical nerve is somewhat blocked. Now I am getting jerks in left shoulder for 20-30 minutes. Then it stops. u should get your mri cervical spine done also visit a neurologist who will see for the cause of jerks...if it is fasciculation s other causes than cervical spondylitis need to be worked up

My mother suffered with brain stroke affects right leg + right hand + speech issue is also there. please suggest me what to do?

Unfortunately effects of brain stroke doesn't resolve rapidly. It takes time. To speed up the recovery a proper rehabilitation routine must be followed. It involves regular physiotherapy, speech therapy and most importantly family and social support. Avoid massaging the involved side, it does more harm than good.

My father age 74, had right side head injury in road accident 3 months back. Presently left hand is partially not working. Ct scan report shows slight bleeding. Can this be cured by medication or surgery is required. Please guide me.

All depends on size of bleed. Mostly surgery is not required and bleed gets absorbed over a period of time. Power may improve with time continue physiotherapy.

I have been observing high level of sugar in my blood levels around 180 fasting and 220 normally on some days, normally it remains within limits. I am not controlling my diet on days when sugar level is normal I am 37 with no family history of high sugar levels. Kindly suggest what tests could be done to identify the problem n what do you diagnose out of it. I have been on valprin chrono 500 due to epileptic seizures which occurred around 12 yrs back.

Hba1c is most reliable test and gives an approximate idea of past 3 months sugar level. At your age target should be near to 6.5 with diet exercise and medication. Along with hba1c, following tests needs to be done as you are on anti epileptics as well. Fbs ppbs urine routine serum creatinine lipid profile liver profile.

Any type of neuropathy is a chronic disabiling condition. It may take many years to normalize the nerve. Keep going, take vit b1, b6, b12 & passive exercise.
