Take homeopathic medicine acid phos 1m/single dose (5 drops in little water) and revert after 2 weeks. Apply jaborandi hair oil. Also use arnica shampoo. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. Eat healthy and balanced food like pulses, green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits and nuts etc. Add more vitamin rich food to your diet. Avoid stress and anger by meditation. Cut down the use of hair spray, hair gel. Take sound/good sleep. Avoid too much exposure of your hair to sunlight/ hair styling tools, as they damage hair and cause split ends.

Hello I am shekhar tiwari last year a operation of angioplasty done in October month and a stent placed in there. Yes...
Your bp is high, sugar is in normal range and total cholesterol is high but get lipid profile done, get bp monitored and treated accordingly, reduce salt and sugar to bare minimum as fruits and vegetables give us enough of essential salts, minerals and vitamins. No added salt or packed food as salt is a preservative. Avoid excess salt as it leads to water retention and higher bp, but there is no need to take bland salt free diet, some additive to give taste is allowed. Take sendha namak as sodium is less in it compared to table salt.

Hello doctor, Sir/mam i am 46 years old i am suffering for rheumatoid arthritis from past 2 years doctor has confirmed as polyarthritis due to high uric acid and R A factor level high kindly please help me out. Finding a permanent solution for it. Regards.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
there are not permanent solution for it..be on medicines..manege life style only...Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water every day. Drinking water at intervals keeps your body hydrated so that uric acid crystals do not form at all. A healthy intake of water can help flush excess uric acid out of the body. Increase your consumption of antioxidant-rich foods like cherries, blueberries, blackberries, grapes and pineapples. They prevent inflammation of the joints and help in the excretion of uric acid. Try apple cider vinegar. Not only is it known to lower uric acid levels, but it also helps to reduce arthritic pain, even when used as a topical application. Stay away from foods that can cause gout or trigger inflammation. These include beans, mushrooms, meat and fish like salmon, mackerel, sardines and crab. Although patients with gout are advised to limit alcohol intake, the best option would be to eliminate it completely. Alcohol not only increases the risk of gout it also increases the severity of symptoms.

My mother is 62 years old & suffering from diabetes & blood pressure. She mainly suffers due to unbalance of sugar level. Can you suggest what precautions (i. E food chart.) shroud we take to control sugar level?

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
For a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - have small frequent meals. Do not fast for more than 2-3 hours. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar. Fruits should be had as a mid meal. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia. Sleep well. It's all a matter of discipline.

What are the symptoms of Thyroid disease and is there any correlation between thyroid and increasing heart beat rate. What are the precautions.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

What are the symptoms of Thyroid disease and is there any correlation between thyroid and increasing heart beat rate....
Mr. Lybrate-user, in hyperthyroidism heart rate goes up, also there may be palpitation. In hypothyroidism there is slower heart rate. Hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism both have different symptoms. So please clarify which particular disease are you referring. Precautions are again different. However, it is good to use iodinated salt, exercise regularly and check thyroid homone levels periodically.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if it hypothyroidism, then treatment with thyroxine in adequate dose is the main treatment. It is essential achieve very good control and reduce tsh level to 3 to 4 mlunits/l, then all the symptoms will be in check. He should avoid soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, pea nuts, coffee. Use whole grain flour for chapati & roti, should avoid maida and other refined flour and items made out of those. Should avoid bakery items and high fat milk products. MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology

My sister tsh hormone level is 10 and I am overweight. What kind of treatment I should do. Please help me.
Mr Pinakesh, If TSH level is 10 milli units / ml, it is high, signifying she has hypothyroidism and needs to start treatment immediately. Otherwise, symptoms of hypothyroidism can be quite severe and troublesome. Hypothyroidism leads to weight gain, so that has to be controlled, then initiation of treatment is very essential.
