I am 20 years old male and I am having severe toothache for last 1 week.
You have cavity with pulp infection. You may need to go for rct. Get an x-ray done to know about the extent of the cavity. For temporary relief from pain you can take ketorol dt 2 tabs dissolved in half cup of water. Or ibuprofen after meal.

There is sometime swelling in my teeth. What is the reason for that.

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist,
There are a lot of reasons for a swelling to occur 1. If there is a decay and its deep, it can cause a swelling at the roots due to root canal infection 2. It could be because of poor oral hygiene. 3. Infection of the gums 4. If in the wisdom tooth region, i. E. Is the last molar tooth region, it could be because of a the tooth being stuck with no space for eruption. An examination by your dentist can help in zeroing in on the problem.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

My frontal teeth are stained on the lower jaw. Is there anything I can do at home to remove them?

My frontal teeth are stained on the lower jaw. Is there anything I can do at home to remove them?
Hello. When brushing twice a day and flossing doesn't help improve your yellow teeth, it's time to consider other options. Teeth become yellow due to stains – both deep and surface-level – as well as other causes that sometimes aren't under our control. Although coffee and cigarettes leave stains on your teeth over time, thin tooth enamel also makes teeth look yellow. Tooth enamel is the hard, white surface of your teeth, and underneath it is a pale brown substance called dentin. Thick enamel looks white, but thin enamel allows dentin tones to show through, making teeth look yellow from the outside. Enamel naturally wears thin as people age, but acids from foods and drinks such as sour candies, oranges and soda also thin the enamel by eroding its surface. Saliva neutralizes acid and washes it away, but people suffering from dry mouth miss out on this protective effect. Other causes of yellow teeth include antibiotic use or excessive fluoride intake in young children, which can cause yellow-stained adult teeth later. Treatments for certain conditions can also affect tooth color. For example, head and neck radiation and chemotherapy can cause teeth discoloration. In addition, certain infections in pregnant mothers can cause tooth discoloration in the infant by affecting enamel development. Certain medication, mouth rinses can also causes yellow staining. Preventing Yellow Teeth: Avoiding smoking, coffee and soda helps prevent yellow teeth, or you can get into the habit of drinking those darker beverages through a straw. Drink milk or plain water after eating or drinking something acidic to help reduce the acid's eroding effect. Brushing and flossing also help, and avoiding snacks between meals allows your saliva to dilute the acids in your mouth too. Using over-the-counter whitening agents will also helps. Discolorations are generally responsive to bleaching procedures.

I have some dark black spots in my teeth as I am a smoker. So I wanted to know that how to remove these dark spots?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

I have some dark black spots in my teeth as I am a smoker. So I wanted to know that how to remove these dark spots?
Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

You have teeth sensitivity problem. . teeth sensitivity is a result of loss of outer most layer(enamel) of teeth..that can be due to : - Tooth grinding - Acidic beverages (such as soda) that cause enamel erosion and dentin exposure. - Brushing with a very abrasive toothpaste, brushing incorrectly and/or brushing more than three times a day could result in a loss of enamel. - A chipped or fractured tooth may expose the dentin.  here are few steps to avoid sensitivity of teeth: - Practice good oral hygiene. - Use a sensitivity toothpaste like Sensodyne. - Don't brush too hard. - Use a softer toothbrush. - Take care while consuming acidic foods. - Use fluoridated dental products. - Avoid grinding your teeth. - See your dentist regularly for professional tooth cleaning, dental care recommendations and advice on treating your sensitive teeth.

The type of treatment you have for toothache will depend on the cause of the pain, so your dentist will examine your mouth and may carry out an X-ray to try to identify the problem. •If your toothache is caused by tooth decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If your toothache is caused by a loose or broken filling, the filling will be taken out, any decay will be removed and a new filling put in place. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection. •If your toothache can't be treated using these methods, or if your tooth is impacted (wedged between another tooth and your jaw), it may need to be removed.

I have bleeding in my mouth when I brush it. Please help me?

BDS
Dentist,
I have bleeding in my mouth when I brush it. Please help me?
Hi gum bleeding can be due to various factors. After proper examination by your dentist you will come to know the exact cause of it. Main and basic reasons for your gum bleeding& bad breath problem are plaque/calculus/tartar deposits present in your teeth. These factors cause gum inflammation known as gingivitis which leads to swollen and bleeding gums. Apart from this other reasons for gum bleeding could be improper alignment of the teeth deficiency of vitamin c (also known as scurvy) prolonged use of some medications like aspirin, underlying systemic conditions like bleeding disorders.(very very rare possibility) it is advisable to visit a dentist and get proper treatment done which may include scaling (i. E. Professional cleaning) & or flap surgery to avoid loss of teeth in long run also scaling is to be done every 6 months as a routine maintenance procedure for healthy teeth and strong gums.
