You need to get the latest test results for the analysis. So get T3, T4, TSH done, get it done on fasting that is do not take any thing including tea or coffee and get the test in the morning hours. At the same time on empty stomach get the Lipid profile test also done which will give the status of cholesterol in the blood and the first test will give thyroid hormone levels basing on which we can suggest some remedial steps. If you are already using throid medicine get the test done after taking the tablet with water and on empty stomach. Come back with the results and names of the medicines with strength if you are using any. In the open questions we can not give medicines names so you need to come in private consultation

As vaginal muscles are constricted normally so usually during sex initially till the time muscles are not relaxed voluntarily pain is usually experienced. So try focusing on your pelvic muscles voluntarily and relax them, it will make the entry easy. And be relaxed, the more stressed you are the more constricted would be the muscle. But, if problem continues, then visit a gynecologist.

Hi, my wife is 34 years old after miscarriage at 5 months (first child), she has put on little weight but her tummy/stomach portion has come out a lot. Second thing after delivery there is severe pain.

DGO, MD, MRCOG, CCST, Accredation in Colposcopy

I would suggest she takes up a strict regime of diet and exercise. To avoid high calorie foods and instead take fruits, vegetables and proteins like fish, chicken, dal. Exercise like jogging/ walking/swimming/skipping. Also I would advice she gets a USG pelvis done to exclude any pathology. In the event she has any abnormal vaginal discharge she needs to consult a doctor for antibiotics.

Are there any other changes you have noticed lately - I am not ruling out early menopause. How long have you had this condition? In the meanwhile and right away start taking: Lach 30 and Puls 30 in liquid form. Four drops of each in a tablespoon of water four times a day, 20 mins before meals for 15 to 20 days and report. Diet for Weight Loss and Weight Gain

M.Sc - Dietitics / Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
Diet for Weight Loss and Weight Gain

Being overweight or obese leads to many health problems and thus, controlling your diet to reduce fat and weight can help you get your life back. However, one the other side of the spectrum, being too skinny can also be unhealthy. You could also be clinically of a proper weight, but might want to put on some muscle. Diets for both the sides will thus vary greatly.

Diet for weight loss:

  1. Include more of dark leafy vegetables in your diet: These vegetables are store houses of many important nutrients, such as vitamins, proteins, fibers and antioxidants and also contain no fats.
  2. Cereals and grains: It is important that we replace refined flour and fried foods, such as parathas or poori and replace them with whole healthy grains. Some examples of these grains are whole wheat bread, brown rice, rotis and oats.
  3. Lean meats: Certain forms of meat, which have been prepared without too much oil and spice are good as weight loss diet ingredients. Chicken, turkey, sweet-water fish among others are good choices.
  4. Fruits: Fruits are also a good option as they have natural sugar within them and can provide a boost of energy without requiring processed sugars. Melons, Oranges, berries, guavas are all good examples as they also help in regulating body functions.

Diets for weight gain:

  1. Peanuts: This ingredient is a good source of protein and unsaturated fats, which will help you build muscle and put on some extra weight. If you are working out at the gym to gain muscles peanuts can provide you with the required calories and protein to put on weight.
  2. Bananas: This fruit is not only a source of potassium, but also a source of good sugar which can easily be converted into energy within the body and can help build muscles and thus enable you to put on weight the healthy way.
  3. Eggs: Eggs, especially egg yolk is known to be rich in protein and fats and can help you gain weight quickly. However, it is advised not to eat multiple eggs and limit its consumption to three or four eggs weekly as it can contribute to bad cholesterol within the body.
  4. Chocolate: Some amount of chocolate in your food also helps you to put on weight although excessive consumption may lead to elevated blood sugar levels. However, chocolates in moderation and regularity will help you put on weight healthily.

In unprotected intercourse there is chance of getting pregnant even if there is no ejaculation inside as sperm get secreted in precum also. So if you have got pregnant by now, taking femilon will not affect the pregnancy. Pregnancy will continue as usual. If you do not want to conceive now, my advise would be to continue femilon as long as you can detect whether you are prennant by urine test. You can do that after 1 week from now. If it is negative you continue femilon and if its positive then only stop femilon and take some abortificient drugs.

I am female 22years nd had abortion of 9weeks in december five months before from now. I want to know that is there any need of vaccination after abortion. If yes then wat type of vaccines.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
You should assess your immunity for rubella by blood test and vaccination should be offered to you when you are not pregnant. Pregnant women who do not have evidence of immunity should be vaccinated immediately before getting pregnant. And pregnancy should be avoided for the whole month after receiving vaccination.

I am 25 years old and I got married in April 2015, I want to be pregnant now, I am trying for this last 6 months but ...
Ultrasound report of free fluid is absolutely normal report. To get pregnant you need to have regular sex i. E. 3-4 times a week for one full year before you start seeking medical help. If you want to make her pregnant fast then you can follow this calender method. If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26 days) minus 18 days = 8th day. The longest cycle (31 days) minus 10 days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period.
