I have cavity problem. I brush twice a day but cavity doesn't stop and in other tooths are also cavity started. What should I do and which toothpaste I use to prevent cavity?

BDS
Dentist, Ghaziabad
The cavities cannot be stopped or cured by any medicine or toothpaste. I would suggest you to consult a dentist at the earliest and get your cavities filled before it's too late. You can use a fluoride containing toothpaste to prevent caries but it is not a substitute for filling or restoration.

I am 21 years old girl. And everday when I wake up. Then blood is coming from my mouth and from my tooth. Please give me suggestion for this.

BDS
Dentist, Malda
As per your question, you may be suffering from gingivitis. You must consult with any qualified dental surgeon. After examination of your oral cavity he gives you some medicine and may be suggest for professional cleaning. For home remedy you may use luke worm water in a coffee mug with half teaspoon of salt and just a pinch of natural alum, mix well & gurgle 4-5 times daily. It is good for your gums & teeth also. But you should consult with a qualified dental surgeon.

I am in boxing since 4 years and we usually get injured in the bouts. And recently 15 days back I had played a match and I got slightly pain in my jaw. I thought its normal and I didn't focus on it. As the time is passing the pain is increasing day by day I cannot open my mouth completely and I can feel pain while chewing. Please suggest me something because I have to play more matches in future.

Dentist, Visakhapatnam
Hai lybrate-user The boxers are at maximum risk of temporomandibular joint injuries. With your symptomps above I suspect a temporomandibular disc derangement. Consult oral and maxilofacial surgeon nearby in hyderabad only. He will throughtly examine with the necessary investigations come up with right dignosis for the treatment. Get well soon.

Kindly consult an orthodontist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (Model study, Full mouth & profile x-ray) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need fixed / removable braces. Requirements may depends on the age, complaint, duration of the treatment & affordability. Cost of cosmetic dentistry (braces) varies with dentist. You may consult me in person.

I have yellow layer at backward teeth. I guess its pyria. I did not care it earlier but I wish to remove it. What should I do?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Advise deep cleaning, polishing, whitening (bleaching) procedures, artificial enamel filling or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. Cause of discoloration – Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics.

My baby is 27 days old. My wife was having teeth pain at the time of pregnancy so due to that we had not taken any treatment. Now again after pregnancy she is having the same is there any medicine that will help her from teeth pain please suggest.

BDS
Dentist, Pimpri-Chinchwad
It is absolutely safe for your wife to go for a dental treatment even during and after pregnancy. Tooth is the only portion of the body which doesn't heal or repair on its own. So you need to c the dentist and get it corrected, so that she can eat food properly, since she is a nursing mother, her diet is also important for your child.

2 Biggest Dental Mistakes that Indians Make!

2 Biggest Dental Mistakes that Indians Make!
2 Biggest dental mistakes that Indians make!

Your dental health chiefly depends on the way you care for your teeth and gums. Most Indians consider maintaining oral health a very simple thing, and end up committing quite a few dental blunders as a result. As a result, a whopping 95% of the population in India suffers from gum disease! (Source: National Oral Health Programme)

Read on to find which of these dental mistakes you are making and how to avoid them.

1. Not flossing your teeth
Flossing plays a significant role in getting rid of sticky bacteria or plaque from your teeth. The acid generated by dental plaque is the chief cause behind oral cavities, gum irritation and various other gum diseases. Flossing is essential for cleaning the space between your teeth and in turn eliminating most of the bacteria present in your mouth. This is the very reason it should not be ignored. However in India, well over 70% of the population does not floss.

2. Not regularly visiting the dentist
Most Indians have the habit of not visiting the dentist at regular intervals due to laziness, a forgetful nature or fear. Quite a few hold the common belief that if they aren’t experiencing a toothache, they don’t need to visit the dentist at all. Only 2% of Indians visit the dentist. This often puts you in greater risks of developing a gum disease, which may require painful and costly treatment in the future. So, make it a priority to visit the dentist at least once every year to ensure better dental health.

My jaw is in pain from the right hand side the vein from my right ear till the chick is in pain can't eat food properly so I am worried when ever I chew something so it starts to pain so please suggest some medicine to cure it.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Before taking any medicines you have to consult a dentist because jaw and ear pain is something related to your temperomandibular joint. That is the joint between your jaw and your skull. There might be some problem with the joint. So refer a dentist as soon as possible.

Implants with uncontrolled diabetes would be a failure. It would be better if you could go for a bps processing denture of if few teeth missing a sunflex.

Sugary foods should be consumed in limited quantities as the bacteria in dental plaque changes them into acids.

One of my molar tooth is bifurcated but still attached to the gum. What should be done about it ?

BDS, Basic Life Support (B.L.S)
Dentist, Pune
When you say bifurcated i assume you mean it is broken. In all likelihood and extraction is required.
