Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

The thing is you are getting repetitive stain injury. You r using phone or laptop continuously more than 15-20 min. Your pain is to only over use do hot fermentation. Use laptop raiser with additional keyboard and mouse sure you feel better. It's only due to poor posture. Try to place it relive you in 3 days take care.

Hello according to your condition you have to take hot water fermentation through towel and do it 3 times in a day duration-15 min along with stretching and back exercises like straingh leg raising, bridging with -20 min repetition -5 sec hold do it for 3 days sure you will get well soon take care.

If you are thinking of planning a baby. You should stop it and try for your conception naturally for 6 months to 1 year. And yes for your wt I would sugest you to go for wt reduction as it will increase your chances of conception.

arthritis cannot be cured by medicine. only the symptoms can be controlled by pain killers / antiinflammatory tablets. knee replacement is a final option for treating end stage arthritis when other nonoperative methods fail why don't u post ur xray

Hello Lybrate user,  Back pain that is associated with day time sedentary jobs like computer professional s are associated with paraspinal muscle spasms. The best way to tackle this sort of pain is to do well spaced Stretching exercises of the back, back extension exercises, using hot water bags to provide relief and avoiding stooping posture while sitting. Posture also plays a very important part in back pain, always maintain a straight posture while sitting. While getting up from the bed try to first go on your left or right side of the body and get up side ways. Avoid Cruntches or Sit-ups: they may increase the pressure on your back and may predispose to Slip Disc. Always maintain a healthy Lifestyle in terms of regular brisk walking, meditation, eating healthy. P. S: Try to avoid pain killers (Analgesics) as much as possible as many are associated with Side effects that you may not be aware of. Stay Healthy. Stay Happy God bless you.

Disabling Pain in Shoulder - Can it be a Sign of Shoulder Impingement?

Shoulder impingement is a serious condition leading to severe pain in the shoulder blades of a person. Such kind of shoulder pain may affect anybody anytime. It basically affects the area of your shoulder facing stress due to any sort of overhead action. An impactful pressure on the tendons of bones constituting your shoulder gives rise to this disorder. This syndrome can affect a person who paints, swims, lifts or plays tennis on a regular basis. Once caused, persistent rendering of similar activities can worsen the case. If you are suffering from shoulder impingement syndrome, treatment under an experienced medical practitioner is indeed necessary as otherwise, you may have to suffer from tendinitis or bursitis.

Take a keen look at the symptoms of shoulder impingement
1. Disabling pain in and around the shoulders
2. Under the effect of such excruciating pain, a person has restricted use of his or her arms and neck. He or she will face difficulties in reaching to a higher position above his or head. Aiming up behind your back will also be a challenge with the existence of this syndrome.
3. There is considerable weakness in the muscles of your shoulders, preventing you from working with full vigor
4. If left unattended, shoulder impingement can worsen to cause Rotator Cuff Tear where the tendons tear into two distinctive parts.

Available modes of treatment
1. A doctor might prescribe you anti- inflammatory drugs to relieve you from excess pain. These drugs should only be taken under the close monitoring of a specialist as they might have acute side effects. You might feel nauseous or might have an upset stomach after consuming these medications.
2. Stretching your arms above your head while holding your body in an erect posture can be of great help. This stretching exercise should be tried out in a warm shower for better results.
3. Other exercises under the supervision of a physiotherapist can come to your rescue as well. You should try to move your thumb up your back to recuperate from shoulder impingement.

Health hazard in long sitting

Avoid sitting for long time to prevent muscles to get spasms or stiffen and to avoid accumulation of adipose tissues as it may increase the risk of developing waistline
Hence try to do small movements involving hip rotation and moving around for at least 15 minutes every three hours to ensure occupational strain in the joints and to ensure better metabolism

Sir I am suffering from ankylosing spondilitis. Hla b27+ve. Crp+ve. Esr 22. Uric acid-6.5. I am taking ayurvedic medicines like himalaya rumalaya fortie, trayongshang gugull, kaishore gugullu, rymanil (charak) and rumarex golf for last four month. Now doctor has stopped rymanil and rumarex gold. In addition he has adviced r compound, maharashnadi kadha & castor oil with milk. Rumalaya fortie, kaishore gugullu & trayoshang gugullu will continue. I am having stiffness in neck and my back. Pls suggest me what should do. I am doing regular yoga with walking.

Dear, you are taking a lot of guggulu based medication. Please share the dosage. For local application try using a combination of vishgarbha tailam 1 part with narayan tailam 2 parts and massage gently in the the back muscles which have stiffened. Post this application you can try fomentation by using a dry sand wrapped in a thick cloth heated on a tava or steel plate. Incase if you experience pain post application of oil avoid using the same but the fomentation would help.

There is sudden pain started in my right feet ankle. Its severe pain and can't move my ankle or stand on my feet. Similar pain started in my left wrist few months ago. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. loss of lordosis is because of spasm. yes u should take rest. and avoid bending forward and lifting weight. yes u can go ahead with Physiotherapy. dont worry u will be alright.
