To prevent the birth of cavities in your teeth, avoid consuming acidic drinks or food as they soften the tooth material which causes the dissolution of the minerals into the tooth enamel.

I get bad breath from my mouth sometimes which is really frustrating because I have to interact with many people as per my professional requirement. Need assistance on the same.

Dentist, Vadodara
Bad breath is due to accumulation of plaque on teeth, decay teeth, dry mouth, smoking, tobacco chewing, consumption of caffeinated or aerated beverages, oilly n spicy food, sore throat, bad digestion. Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: - practice good oral hygiene. - brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. - don't forget to brush the tongue, too. - replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. - use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. - see your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. - drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. - chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

Whenever there is mucous discharge from the nostrils I will suggest you to take one tablet of cetrizine at night and we have to rule out deviated nasal septum after clinical examination.

Teeth whitening is also called bleaching can be done but the effects are not long lasting and there are lots of restrictions on diet to prolong the effect. If you want permanent solution go for crowns or laminates/veneers.

Since few weeks i'm having bad breath. I consulted my dentist he clarified that I have no cavities. Bad breath is due to wisdom tooth which is trying come out. Is there anything by which I can get rid of bad breath?

BDS
Dentist, Raipur
Kindly get scaling done and use mouth wash twice daily for 15 days. Brush your teeth twice daily using correct brushing technique. Also try to do warm saline gargles as this will keep the area around wisdom tooth free of any food accumulation and it will not cause any decay.

BDS
Dentist,
There are many causes for breath odor/bad breath/halitosis

If you don't brush and floss every day, food stays in your mouth and collects bacteria, which can cause bad breath. Food collected between the teeth, on the tongue and around the gums can also rot, leaving an unpleasant odor. Foods like garlic and onions contribute to breath odor, and once the food is absorbed into the bloodstream, it is transferred to the lungs where it's expelled. Brushing, flossing and mouthwash will only mask the odor temporarily; odors continue until the body eliminates the food.

Tobacco products are another cause of bad breath.

You have to go for orthodontic treatment. Better to consult some qualified orthodontist. Generally it does not effect nervous system.

•If your cavity in the tooth is caused by decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling. •If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection.

Deposits like hard calculus has to removed by scaling. No teeth do not get weaker by scaling but due to poor oral hygiene.

If your brushing technique is correct, all brands of toothpastes are good. You should always use soft brushes, irrespective of the brand.

How to clean teeth. My teeth is yellow. I use synsodyene paste. Tell some home remedy to fullish white teeth.
1. Use Neem datun daily in the morning. No need to do brush with the paste or vigorous rubbing of the teeth and gums. 2. Mix rock salt (saindha namak)- half tsp and lemon juice/ soda powder - 1/4 tsp. Do gentle rubbing on the teeth and gums using the middle finger only. Leave for 2 minutes and clean the mouth. Do this twice weekly. Skip Neem datun for those two days in a week. 3. Do gentle brushing in the night daily before sleeping with any Ayurvedic good tooth paste daily. 4. Oral hygiene is mandatory. Smoking, chewing tobacco, lots of sweetened beverages, too much sweets, alcohol, etc are not good for oral hygiene. 5. Rinse your mouth after main meals with water.

Hi I am suffering from teeth problem day by day its getting shorter He can I get over?
Dental attrition is a type of tooth wear caused by tooth-to-tooth contact,[1] resulting in loss of tooth tissue, usually starting at the incisal or occlusal surfaces. Tooth wear is a physiological process and is commonly seen as a normal part of aging. Advanced and excessive wear and tooth surface loss can be defined as pathological in nature, requiring intervention by a dental practitioner. The pathological wear of the tooth surface can be caused by bruxism, which is clenching and grinding of the teeth. If the attrition is severe, the enamel can be completely worn away leaving underlying dentin exposed, resulting in an increased risk of dental caries and dentin hypersensitivity. It is best to identify pathological attrition at an early stage to prevent unnecessary loss of tooth structure as enamel does not regenerate Prevention[edit] Patient Wearing Occlusal Splint When a diagnosis of bruxism has been confirmed, it is recommended that the patient buy a full-coverage acrylic occlusal splint, such as a Michigan Splint or Tanner appliance, to prevent further bruxism. Patients must be monitored closely, with clinical photographs 6–12 monthly to evaluate if the tooth surface loss is being prevented. Treatment[edit] Cosmetic or functional intervention may be required if tooth surface loss is pathological or if there has been advanced loss of tooth structure.[18] The first stage of treatment involves managing any associated conditions, such as fractured teeth or sharp cusps or incisal edges. These can be resolved by restoring and polishing sharp cusps. Then, desensitizing agents such as topical fluoride varnishes can be applied, and at home desensitising toothpastes recommended. Many restorative options have been proposed, such as direct composite restorations, bonded cast metal restorations, removable partial dentures, orthodontic treatment, crown lengthening procedures and protective splints.[18] The decision to restore the dentition depends on the wants and needs of the patient, the severity of tooth surface loss and whether tooth surface loss is active.[16] The use of adhesive materials to replace lost tooth structure can be performed as a conservative and cost-effective approach before a more permanent solution of crowns or veneers is considered.

If irregular teeth are treated without braces between the age group of 8 to 13 years, the chances of relapse after braces is less. This can be treated only by a Child Dental Specialist - Pediatric Dentist. Generally, Braces should be used once the growth of jaws is over, which is generally after 12 to 13 years of age. This is the holistic way of treating irregular teeth.

If you are looking for a good mouthwash then make sure it is alcohol-free, as alcohol is an irritant and can dry out the mouth. This will have the effect of reducing the amount of saliva present, and make your teeth more susceptible to bacteria.Rinse twice a day – once in the morning and last thing at night and always after brushing.

Hi it would really help us if you could send some pictures of your teeth. Modern day dentistry allows you to fill small gaps between teeth by procedure called dental bonding. If you can send some pictures then we are in better position to comment.
