You need to see spine specialist for thorough clinical & radiological evaluation of your neck & back pain if it is persistent or recurrent or associated with radiating arm or leg pain. If it is mild pain from short duration can take tab paracetamol 650 mg twice or thrice daily till pain relief or max 5 days. Apply oxalgin nano gel locally. Do not massage. If not better with above see spine specialist.

Hi ~use elastic bandages (such as an ace bandage) to wrap your ankle. ~wear a brace to support your ankle. ~use crutches for walking till swelling and pain subsides. ~keep your foot raised above your heart with pillows when resting or sleeping to reduce swelling. ~get plenty of rest and do not put weight on your ankle. Still you don't get relief than visit physiotherapist as physical examination /xray may be required for further investigation. Do reply for detailed treatment plan. Wishing you a good health.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

U should do physiotherapy to relieve urself of pains. It will take some time to get total cure. I advise you to apply oil joddaram on joints.

Back pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take Calc fluor 200--once daily in the morning.

This is quite a common condition rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. It appears you strained you back in your activities. You need to learn proper back care and some exercises to make your back strong.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. It is natural to have some degenerative changes in your lower back region seeing your age. But if you do not have any other symptoms like leg pains, numbness, weakness in legs, paresthesias ( electrical shock like sensations) and your pain is only localized to your back region, then I would think the best way to move ahead is with good and intensive physical therapy under supervision. Also kindly tell me how much distance can you walk without pain? do you take pain killers for walking? also take regular calcium medications and vitamin d as required to keep your bone metabolism intact. My wife sliped from stairs on 31st oct 14. Since than she has pain in her toe of spine and pain spread in both hips. All mri and xrays have done. But there is nothing found. Doc said that bone are very weak thats why pain is presist. It may ber osteoporosis. Please advise.

Pain at tail end region could in her case be due to an injury to coccyx, but I will like to see her x ray for that. Chronic pain in region of coccyx or tail bone is called as coccydynia and you need sitz bath, soft cushioned surface for sitting, nowadays coccydynia seats are available which take the pressure off from the affected region but send me her x ray so that I can see and advise you accordingly. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days. Bio d3 max 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do reply back for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.
