Dentist,
I have yellow teeth what should I do to clear yellowness of teeth?
Normally tooth colour varies from white to yellowish white. If there is stain on the tooth surface then you need to go for bleaching and polishing. Brush regularly two times daily with soft bristle toothbrush. Rinse your mouth after eating anything. Take care of your oral hygiene.

Bleeding from the gums occur when the gums are irritated by tartar, vitamin c deficiency, uncontrolled hypertension, infection, problems in your blood. Kindly visit the dentist and find out the cause and get cured. Gum bleeding can be prevented by proper brushing, eating food rich in vitamin c, gum massaging which will increase the blood flow to the gums and keep it healthy.

There is smell from my breath. What should I do?

Advanced Aesthetics, BDS
Dentist,
Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently. You can come for a consultation (free of cost) in our clinic.

3 Primary Causes of Tooth Cavity You Shouldn't Ignore!

3 Primary Causes of Tooth Cavity You Shouldn't Ignore!

3 primary causes of tooth cavity you shouldn't ignore!

Permanently damaged regions on the enamel of the teeth that later develop into holes or openings are known as cavities. They are a common dental problem and can affect people belonging to all age groups. If left untreated, they can lead to infection, severe toothache, and even tooth loss.

Cavities can be caused due to a number of factors. Some of those factors are discussed below-

1. Bacterial action

Cavities can be caused due to tooth decay by the action of bacteria. Bacteria are naturally found in the mouth and they thrive on food and drinks that contain sugar. If the sugar is not cleaned off the teeth, bacteria can react with it to produce acids. This results in the formation of bacterial plaque that sticks to the teeth, resulting in cavities.

2. Frequent snacking

Eating too frequently can result in the formation of cavities as more food intake means more bacteria and bacterial plaque contain harmful acids. These acids remove the mineral content in the hard surface of the tooth. This erosion can lead to cavities and expose the tooth to decay.

3. Unclean tooth

If the tooth is not cleaned well and regularly using good brushing and flossing techniques, cavities can occur more frequently. Unclean teeth are exposed to the risk of cavities more than healthy and clean teeth. In fact, unclean teeth can pose a serious threat to the inner layers of your teeth as well as make the bacterial action more frequent and dangerous.

Hello there. It's good that you have described of your freinds problem in detail. Ask your friend to have cool relaxed mind as hiv doesn't spread with oral fluids or saliva. The route of spread is only through semen if there was contact during the oral sex or if there was contact with blood. This is all possible only if the guy she met is been diagnosed with hiv. If you want to have a peace of mind then contact the person with whom intimacy was maintened and have him checked. And yes next time please keep in mind that protective measures go a long way I hope I clarified your doubts if not please buzz me goodluck and god bless

Certified Implantologist, BDS

Foul odour or halitosis as it is called can be because of plaque or calculus accumulation over teeth but can also occur if your tongue is not clean. Make sure you clean your tongue as well after brushing. Never use metal tongue cleaners. Use a good plastic tongue cleaner. And do not forget to visit your dentist every six months.

Which is better to fill cavity silver or white material ?

B.D.S
Dentist,
Hi both the materials are good. Amalgam (silver) filling is non tooth coloured so it is easily visible when you speak or laugh while composite (white) filling is tooth coloured so has good esthetic value.
