Hair fall may be attributed to different reasons like using artificial colors, hair styling, chemicals etc. It may be due to some internal weakness also. Please go for herbal neem shampoo. Use shikakai and amla as conditioner (soak amla and shikakai in water overnight and boil a little in morning). Apply it on hairs. Keep for half an hour and then wash. It will condition the hairs. Avoid using comb in wet hairs.

Dandruff - Can Ayurvedic Remedies Help Treat it?

Dandruff - Can Ayurvedic Remedies Help Treat it?

Dandruff is a non-contagious condition that is characterized by the appearance of skin flakes on your scalp. The disorder is not a serious one, but can be embarrassing for the person concerned. Mild symptoms of this disorder can be taken care of by shampooing with a mild cleanser on a regular basis. In case of severe dandruff symptoms, treatment may be required.

Symptoms
The symptoms of dandruff are easily spotted; white flakes of dead skin appear on the hair and shoulders. You may experience itchiness on the scalp due to the accumulation of the dead skin cells. The condition tends to aggravate in dry and cold weather conditions.

Causes
Dandruff can be caused by a variety of factors such as:

  1. Not shampooing regularly: Irregular shampooing can cause dead skin cells to accumulate, leading to dandruff.
  2. Oily and irritated skin: This condition is characterized by the appearance of greasy skin covered by flaky white scales. It occurs in areas, which are rich in oil glands such as the eyebrows and the nose.
  3. Fungus: Yeast like fungus, known as ‘malassezia’, lives on the scalp and may lead to the buildup of excess skin cells, thereby, causing irritated skin.
  4. Dry skin: Dry skin is the perfect spot for the accumulation of dead cells, a condition that results in dandruff.

Ayurvedic View
Ayurveda places the problem of dandruff in the category of Shudra Roga, which appears due to an imbalance of all three doshas. The primary doshas involved are Pitta and Vata. Pitta is an Ayurvedic humor which symbolizes heat or fire and Vata is dry and rough in nature. In an aggravated state, both doshas cause production of specific impurities, called ama, which are dry and heating in nature. These impurities accumulate in the deep tissues of the scalp and contaminate them. Contamination of the deep tissues and aggravated Vata-Pitta Dosha cause itching and patches on scalp. Due to these factors, the scalp sheds larger than normal amounts of dead epidermal cells, which leads to the problem of dandruff.

The Ayurvedic line of treatment is to generally pacify Pitta and Vata through herbal medicines, as well as a tailor-made diet and lifestyle plan. Also, special herbs are administered to cleanse the body of accumulated digestive impurities.

Ayurvedic treatment options:

  1. If the cause lies on the scalp such as dry skin, then just hair oil application or local treatment will be sufficient to cure dandruff.
  2. If the cause lies in underlying skin disease such as psoriasis, treatment for the causative disease will be required.

Ayurvedic treatments such as shirodhara, shirobasti helps not only to relieve dandruff and improve hair quality. They also help you to relieve stress and lack of sleep (which also cause for dandruff).

Ayurvedic herbal hair oils for dandruff:

  1. Bhringaraja taila
  2. Triphaladya taila
  3. Durdurapatradi taila
  4. Chemparutyadi taila
  5. Nalpamaradi taila etc

Internal medicines helpful in this complaint are-

  1. Saptamrita loha – Contains Indian licorice and Triphala, useful in skin diseases
  2. Bhringarajasava – an alcoholic Ayurvedic medicine. Improves immunity, skin complexion
  3. Chandanasava – improves immunity, relieves excessive oiliness
  4. Narasimha Rasayana – Improves hair quality and scalp skin health. Especially useful when dandruff is caused due to dryness in the scalp.

Diet & Lifestyle Advice

  • Wash hair regularly 2-3 times a week with a mild shampoo.
  • Massage your hair with oil every time before washing the head and hair.
  • Avoid spicy, greasy, hot and penetrating foods, junk food, and aerated drinks.
  • Have food with good nutritive value; include fiber-rich foods, salads, fruits, and lentils.
  • Do regular yoga and exercises to minimize stress levels.
  • Avoid scratching the scalp with hands or any other objects.

Can Masturbations increases acne. Will it cause dark colour small pigments above skin.
Certainly masturbation can cause acne and dark pigmentation. Too frequent indulgence in sex (Masturbation) causes abnormal flow of Vital force to Brain and all physical parts (organs) of Body, this may lead to all sorts of corporal and moral ailments from loss of Vital Fluids. Frequently and too much loss of Vital Fluids affects almost all organs systems. But retaining excess of Vital Fluids for long periods also have it's own disadvantage and consequences. Infrequent seminal discharges maybe Good for your Health.

Hi. There are many treatment options for acne and acne scarring. A course of tablets and creams is needed for treating your problem depending upon the grade of your acne and your skin type, as different type of acne require different types of treatment. A sebum regulating face wash will be helpful. A non comedogenic sunscreen should be used. Drink plenty of water daily and also avoid hair oil application.

Hi sir im losing my hair, what the precautions to be take to avoid hair fall? And lose hair will come again?
You can wash the hair with a paste made from Neem leaves. This is particularly effective for hair loss caused due excessive build up of scalp oil or invasive skin infections. For restoring the alkaline balance of the scalp and preventing hair fall, you can follow this with washing the hair with apple cider vinegar. Other homemade pastes that can be very useful include a mixture prepared from adding honey and olive oil to some cinnamon (dalchini) powder.

Mr. pcod being a problem with the ovaries causes lot of hormonal fluctuations which can give her the symptoms that you have described. If treated early on time it can be completely cured in homeopathy without any side effects. Meanwhile just take care that she doesnot put on extra kilos as it may act as a hindrance in curing pcod.

It is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that have powerful effects on the body. This includes improved brain function, fat loss, a lower risk of cancer and many other incredible benefits. Green tea can be regarded as a storehouse of benefits for the skin. It contains a great deal of antioxidants which are effective against free radicals. These free radicals, which are formed when the skin is exposed to the uv rays of the sun, are accountable for premature aging.

I noticed a white spot of one centimeter diameter on the left side of my breast i.e little below my underarm. And inside it there is another spot smaller than that i.e about 1 milli meter radius. The smaller spot is fully white and the bigger spot is also white but little pale as compared to the smaller one. Is seems a discoloration of the cells. What is the reason? Is it a symptom of Vitiligo? I'm very much afraid. Please help me.

This discloration is likely a fungal infection. Due to sweating or humidity fungus produce such type of spots, so you keep that part dry and it will go in few days. If not consult physically a dermatologist nearby.

Hi, I want to know that how I can recognise that I am into depression because most of the time I feel under confident, and short breathing, not able to make any decisions for my life and I am totally lost in to my thoughts.

MD - Psychiatry

Hi, I want to know that how I can recognise that I am into depression because most of the time I feel under confident...
The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say "I'm depressed" when in fact they mean "I'm fed up because I've had a row, or failed an exam, or lost my job", etc. These ups and downs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly. With true depression, you have a low mood and other symptoms each day for at least two weeks Core (key) symptoms:- 1. Persistent sadness or low mood. This may be with or without weepiness. 2. Marked loss of interest or pleasure in activities, even for activities that you normally enjoy. Other common symptoms:- Disturbed sleep compared with your usual pattern. This may be difficulty in getting off to sleep, or waking early and being unable to get back to sleep. Sometimes it is sleeping too much. Change in appetite. This is often a poor appetite and weight loss. Sometimes the reverse happens with comfort eating and weight gain. Tiredness (fatigue) or loss of energy. Agitation or slowing of movements. Poor concentration or indecisiveness. For example, you may find it difficult to read, work, etc. Even simple tasks can seem difficult. Feelings of worthlessness, or excessive or inappropriate guilt. Recurrent thoughts of death. This is not usually a fear of death, more a preoccupation with death and dying. For some people despairing thoughts such as "life's not worth living" or "I don't care if I don't wake up" are common. Sometimes these thoughts progress into thoughts and even plans for suicide
