It is not because of any infection... instead will increase the tendency as it disturbs the intestinal flora. Try taking homoeopathic medicine as it can not only remove the tendency but improves the general bealth.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continuously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

I am having bad breath all over the day. Is It Some Kind Of Problem Or Disease? What Should I Do?

Advanced Aesthetics, BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently.

Advise deep cleaning, polishing, whitening (bleaching) procedures, artificial enamel filling or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. Cause of discoloration – Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics.

Doctor I am suffering from bad breath. Always my mouth dry reason for bad breath.
Treatment for bad breath (halitosis) will depend on its cause. Usually, the most effective treatment is improving your dental hygiene. As part of your daily routine, you should: Brush your teeth and gums. Floss between your teeth. Clean your tongue.

I am a man 33 years of age. I keep getting a lot of decays in my teeth. Although I have got a 6 of them filled a couple of years back new decays have developed. I'd also like to add that I brush my teeth properly thrice a day. I have started experiencing sensitivity in two of my cavities now for which my dentist suggested I get root canal treatment done. I do not want to go through the pain of all that. I want an end to these problems and would like to know if I have an alternate to RCT. Be it in Ayurveda or homeopathy.

There is no any alternative of RCT . If u take any medicine whether ayurvedic or allopathic it will give u only temporary relief not cure you permanantly. So better you go with Rct.Relief from sensitivity I would like to add that either you use your brush vigrously or either using hard brush. Always use soft brush. Do mouthwash regularly. Untill that u can use sensitive paste like hiora k or thermosealRA. Sensitivity will be ok..twice daily affected area.

Pregnancy and Oral Health

Pregnancy and Oral Health

Pregnancy brings with it a whole lot of body system changes and oral health is no exception. Some simple careful planning, however, can help avoid a lot of oral health complications associated with pregnancy. The hormonal changes during pregnancy have a direct effect on the oral health and has higher incidence of decay, pregnancy gingivitis, and pregnancy tumors. Additionally, morning sickness affects the regular oral care, leading to more plaque and decay.

Before pregnancy: If you are planning to get pregnant, then a dental visit can help you get a thorough check-up ahead of the pregnancy. A routine cleaning and check for cavities should be sufficient to avoid any urgent treatment need during the period of pregnancy.

During pregnancy: If you were not able to do your pre-pregnancy dental visit, inform the dentists about pregnancy as early as possible. All elective procedures can be done after the delivery. Only really essential treatment that cannot wait until the delivery should be undertaken during pregnancy, most safe if done during the 4th to 6th months.

Listed below are some points to consider as far as oral/dental health is considered during pregnancy:

  1. Scaling and polishing can be done as usual
  2. Inform the dentist about all the medications that you are advised by your gynecologist
  3. Periodic check-up once in 3 months to reduce severity of gum disease and decay
  4. Good oral hygiene measures including brushing, flossing, and rinsing
  5. Try a bland toothpaste if morning sickness is very severe
  6. Eat a healthy, balanced diet. Tooth formation happens in the third month and requires diet rich in calcium and minerals
  7. Avoid sweet snacks which can lead to greater plaque formation

The hormone changes combined with oral infection (could be gum disease or tooth decay) can lead to severe effects on the developing baby. It is extremely important to avoid dental infections, as these may necessitate antibiotics, require x-rays and even require treatment like root canal and/or extraction, all of which are best avoided until after the baby is delivered. It is considered safe for dental procedures to be done during the 4th to 6th month. Though now there are safer measures to do x-rays and dental procedures, they are best avoided, unless in case of emergency. This emergency situation can be avoided by better planning and some minimal care. Severe gum disease could also lead to premature or low birth weight of the baby. So plaque buildup should be avoided which leads to both decay and gum disease.

After delivery: After the delivery of the baby, please visit your dentist to ensure that there is no emergent dental condition requiring attention. Resume your regular dental care after delivery.

Having ulcer in mouth and occurs at regular interval please suggest some permanent not solution.
Hi, to permanently treat the ulcers, we need to treat the cause. The cause can be stress, constipation, minor trauma, vitamin deficiency, etc. For temporary relief, you can apply dologel ct over the ulcers 4 to 5 times a day. For permanent cure, you should visit an oral medicine specialist. Regards.

I am 18 years old. I want to ask how do I whiten my tooth either by naturally or medical treatments.

BDS
Dentist, Gurgaon
I am 18 years old. I want to ask how do I whiten my tooth either by naturally or medical treatments.
There are several causes of tooth discoloration, for example: foods/drinks. Coffee, tea, colas, wines, and certain fruits and vegetables (for example, apples and potatoes) can stain your teeth. Tobacco use. Smoking or chewing tobacco can stain teeth. Poor dental hygiene. Inadequate brushing and flossing. Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

Drinking a cup of tea everyday helps in keeping the gums and teeth healthy as it contains high amounts of flouride and flavonoids which prevent harmful bacteria from sticking to the teeth.

Go for scaling and polishing. Brush twice daily with use of mouthwash. Also clean your tongue. Forcefully gargle with water after you eat or drink anything. Limit your intake of food to 4-5 times a day. Avoid garlic onion and spicy food at night.
