Hi sir this is kumar I tested for hiv at 13 months by tridot test the result is negative but frequent throat infection.
That can be due to seasonal variations, viral infection, not due to HIV. Just consult your practitioner, but do not ask him/her any HIV related question, else they will be misguided and put you in vicious circle.

Dear lybrate-user, you should start her diabetic and hypertensive medicines in consultation with physician. The long term consequence of uncontrolled diabetes and hypertension is too costly to take a risk of managing them with diet alone. Lifestyle measures such as diet, exercise and weight reduction are no doubt benifitial but they are not that effective compred to medicine. At best they are additive to medicines. Thank you.

Low blood pressure occurs when blood pressure is much lower than normal. This means the heart, brain, and other parts of the body do not get enough blood. Normal blood pressure is mostly between 90/60 mmHg and 120/80 mmHg. The medical name for low blood pressure is hypotension. Causes Certain medicines and substances Nerve damage from diabetes Changes in heart rhythm (arrhythmias) Not drinking enough fluids (dehydration) Diarrhea Heart failure Symptoms of low blood pressure may include: Blurry vision Confusion Dizziness Fainting (syncope) Lightheadedness Nausea or vomiting Sleepiness Weakness Exams and Tests The following tests may be done: Basic metabolic panel TFT Blood cultures to check for infection Complete blood count (CBC), including blood differential ECG Urinalysis X-ray of the abdomen X-ray of the chest Treatment Lower than normal blood pressure in a healthy person that does not cause any symptoms often does not need treatment. Otherwise, treatment depends on the cause of your low blood pressure and your symptoms. When you have symptoms from a drop in blood pressure, sit or lie down right away. Then raise your feet above heart level. Severe hypotension caused by shock is a medical emergency. You may be given: Blood through a needle (IV) Medicines to increase blood pressure and improve heart strength Other medicines, such as antibiotics steps to prevent or reduce your symptoms include: Drinking more fluids Getting up slowly after sitting or lying down Not drinking alcohol Not standing for a long time (if you have NMH) Using compression stockings so blood does not collect in the legs.

Take medicines on time and follow a few remedies to reduce cholesterol naturally: add two teaspoons of coriander seed powder to one cup of water. Boil the mixture and then strain it. Drink this once or twice a day. You can add milk, sugar, and cardamom to it and use it as an alternative for your regular tea. Boil few leaves of mint with water. Add some honey and pepper powder. Drink lukewarm 2-3 times a day. Do warm daily and stop eating ghee, oily and spicy food.

Sir, My Father is Serious Heart Patient, referred to CABG from Cardiovascular on dated 02.03.2017, Due to 3 Arteries ...
Hi welcome, Blockage in all three arteries with reduced heart function& hhistory of cardiac arrest is a serious thing. He will definitely need a by pass surgery (CABG). The risk of the surgery will be higher than a normal patient with blockage in all three arteries. Diabetes control is definitely a very important thing. About medication, dose of cardace could be increased as per bp. Another very important medication (beta blocker) should be added to the treatment. Both the cardace & beta blocker are very very important for such patients. I could be of more help if you could send me the echo & Angio report. Thanks & take care.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Your LDL cholesterol seems to be exceptionally high. It definitely poses a serious risk factor for coronary artery diseases. You need to take treatment and reduce it to about <70 mg /100 ml (1.81 mMol/L). If you do not take care by taking necessary drugs, plus dietary changes, then the problem can be recurring. Thanks.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Can Stress Cause High Blood Pressure?

Domestic chores, travelling, work pressure- keeping up to everyone’s demands everyday is undoubtedly exhausting. There are times in our lives when we feel we can’t manage our lives anymore. We find ourselves stuck in a web of anxiousness, irritability and forgetfulness that affects us negatively. Such times of stress have more or less become another extension of our daily existence. And, it definitely is slowly but steadily affecting our health.
Stress and High Blood Pressure
Stress is linked with high blood pressure. And with high BP, all other diseases like heart failure, kidney failure, and stroke are associated.
During times of stress, our blood pressure increases. Also, our heart rate shoots up very quickly. Our body produces certain hormones because of which our BP increases. These hormones also cause heart to beat faster and blood vessels to narrow down. This might seem like a temporary phase. But overtime the behavioral patterns linked to stress impacts our blood pressure levels negatively. It is believed that reaction to stress makes blood thicker and more viscous. This may in turn lead to blood clots.
Stress is the root cause of unhealthy and self destructive behavior. Common habits that people do to deal with stress include over eating, eating wrong kinds of foods, consuming alcohol, smoking, taking drugs, etc. One tends to neglect one’s health at times avoiding medications and all these factors contribute to hypertension — thus stress has an indirect effect on hypertension.
Generally, there are two kinds of Stress – Acute & Chronic.
Acute Stress
Acute stress is when you are experiencing a very high level of stress for a short period of time. This usually happens due to a specific situation. At times of stress there is release of steroid hormones and the stress hormone Cortisol. These hormones cause increased heart rate and decreased blood vessel diameter which leads to increased blood pressure.
Chronic Stress
Chronic stress is the grinding stress that wears people down and stays for a long period of time. It can contribute to long term problems for the heart and blood vessels. When the stress response system is activated, this automatically affects other systems like increasing blood pressure, blood sugar levels and decreases immune response. The consistent and ongoing increase in heart rate, and the elevated levels of stress hormones and of blood pressure takes a toll on your health. This long-term ongoing stress thus increases the risk for hypertension, heart attack or stroke.
Stress Management to Reduce Hypertension
Repeated acute stress and persistent chronic stress are both conditions that need to be tackled and treated well in time. At times when you lose yourself completely in the heat of a stressful moment, unknowingly you are creating so much damage to yourself. During such instances take deep breaths, and just sit and first sort out in your head the cause of the outburst. Speak to someone you can trust and let the negative voice in you die down before you presume your work.
The first step to stress management begins with training your mind to take control of the situation and not become a victim of your own negative thoughts and emotions. With proper professional therapy and self-help tools you can lessen the negative effects of your daily pressure

Get basic tests for heart done-ecg, echo, stress tests and blood for sugar, lipids do not let others to affect you to the extent that you develop stress pain, chest pain etc. Develop self confidence and remain aloof and focused on your job at hand rather than being in a crowd and getting fears of a heart disease. Do get back here with reports. You are 19 years old teenager and hopefully the reports will be normal and take away the doubts but lots of good habits of healthy eating and exercise, studies, jobs later and a purposeful life etc you have to inculcate now to stay with you for life.
