Hye, Thanks for the query. Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

My weight is 83 kgs. My height is 5.6 and vitamin d is 6. My cholesterol is 228. How do I reduce my weight upto 65 kgs without giving up my vegetarian diet? Please provide me healthy seven day diet chart which can bring back my fatty acids in liver and high cholesterol back on track. Also it should provide my skin with good exposure to all vitamins and nutrients.

you need to start with a balance diet as per your body constitution and medical parameters. you can start up with walk or any physical activity during the day. take seasonal fruits and vegetables. you need to minimize your oil intake. plenty of water will help you. take meal at every two hourly. if you want specific diet plan that also you can start as per your body constitution and medical parameters.

Use Ethigow face wash daily. It has kojic acid which helps in removing tanning and you may regain original color. do not forget to apply sunscreen daily.

My hairs are turning brown day by day. How to get rid of it? How to reduce pre mature graying of hairs?

Get your thyroid and vit-d tests done. If these are imbalaced, then balancing them is necessary. Ayurvedic management of premature greying of hair: -grind the curry leaves and squeeze out their juice. Mix curry leaves juice and buttermilk. Boil the mixture on low flame for 5 minutes. Let it cool to become lukewarm. Apply this lukewarm buttermilk-curry leaves juice mixture on your scalp. Leave for half an hour. Wash hair with lukewarm water. -apply onion juice onto your scalp, massage, and leave it on for about 30 minutes to an hour. Repeat the process daily for a few weeks. Oil- boil a handful of fresh curry leaves in 6-8 tablespoons of coconut oil until the leaves become black. Strain the oil. Apply this oil to your hair daily at night and massage your scalp only with fingers gently. Massage for about 15-20 minutes. Leave it overnight and wash off your hair the next morning. Use this oil for at least 3 months to get results. Diet: -simply eat a teaspoon of black sesame seeds daily for at least three months. -boil the curry leaves in water and drink the hot beverage. -protein, vit a, vit e rich diet. -avoid too much fried, oily, greasy, spicy, and acidic foods. -avoid excessive intake of tea, coffee. -keep off stress by practicing regular meditation. Yogasanas- shavasana, vajrasana, pawanmuktasana. Pranayamas- kapalbhati, bhastrika, nadi-shodhan pranayama. Note- fix on a single shampoo brand to wash your hair. Avoid constipation. Do not comb hairs at all when they are wet. Do not use colors/dyes/hair-styling agents.

Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I have developed a habit of not drinking water before (30-60 min), during and 1 hour after meals. How does this practice help me in my routine affair - assisting me (or not) in maintaining healthy standards. Any change (if required) that helps me improve upon the same. I am 57 years of age and this habit is in place since last 35-40 years.

Hello, Do not wait for the thirst signal,keep drinking water at regular. Inculcate the habit of drinking 1 glass per hour. That will help you a lot.Don not have water along with meals.

I got right side inflammatory sacroiliitis. Can I do weight lifting? I do not experience any pain after excessive walking or weight lifting (I do it at home). But I want some professional trainer. Plus I got HLA-B27 ve but doctors say that I do not yet have spondylitis spondylitis after reading my blood tests, MRI and X-Rays.

Hello lybrate user, the condition what you are talking about is known as sero-negative arthritis. It is a systemic arthritis involving many joints in the body. It includes about 4 to 5 different clinical disorders and the joints involved would depend on the particular condition that affects you. Not all patients with hla-b 27 are affected by these conditions but the risk of developing the disorder is quite high. You have said that you already have inflammatory sacroilitis, so you probably are at an increased risk. I would suggest you to continue light gymnasium activities enough for you to stay fit rather than heavy gymming which can put stresses on the inflamed joints and lead to quicker arthritis. I would also suggest you to consult a physiotherapist to maintain fully functional joints through different exercises. Hope this helps.

Hello Although graying of hair is a natural process as you get older but at your age it may be a reason of too much stress and bad eating habits. Try to be happy throughout the day. Listen to your favourite music to relax your brain and muscles. Also, Having a highly acidic diet (Junk food, Pickles etc.) increases hair graying. Try to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and drink ample amount of water to keep your body alkaline (opposite of acidic).

Few tips on diet for kidney disease - have a low protein diet (decrease in milk and its products and also decrease in the intake of pulses and nuts etc) - can use corn oil, sunflower oil, olive oil for cooking -decrease the intake of butter, ghee, cream, coconut etc - avoid farsan food items - whole grain cereals are best for carbohydrate intake - get your blood checked for electrolyte levels regularly and adjust salt in diet as per the report values.
