There is a myth among many people that removal of the upper teeth affects vision. This is a misconception. Vision is not affected in any way by undertaking treatment of the upper teeth including its extraction.

Hi, I am a 23 years old, And I have one query. My teeth (3) damaged. I was getting pain in occasionally. So I am thinking to remove those teeth. So one of my is telling after removing teeth it will effect on my eye. Can you give me better solution on this.

Dentist, Gurgaon
teeth Extractions have nothing to do with eye problems and they are completely safe if done by a dentist. but you can go for a root canal treatment for these teeth. visit a dentist for the correct diagnosis. if these teeth can be saved then go for rct.

If you have pain due to problem in your wisdom tooth at a time eg in the middle of night when you can't visit a dentist, for a temporary relief rinse your mouth with lukewarm water mixed with salt. And very next morning visit the dentist for permanent solution.

Nail biting is a bad habit that can not only make your hands look unsightly, but if you bite your nails badly enough, you can permanently damage your nails, your teeth, or even your gums.

Hi! I a. Suffering from oral submocous fibrosis for a year ago please help me to cure that serious disease.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Quit habits strictly. Seems like you have oral submucous fibrosis (osmf). Kindly consult an oral & maxillo facial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need conservative or surgical management for mouth opening depending upon the stage of osmf. Advise full mouth opening, ballooning exercise & side to side movement of the jaw. Wrap 25 to 30 ice-cream sticks, make a bundle, put it between upper & lower front teeth for 15 minutes thrice a day increase 1 sticks each day.

Does scaling or cleaning of teeth to make them white by a dentist can create sensitivity or pain in my teeth.

BDS, MDS
Dentist, Gorakhpur
Not at all. It may cause pain or sensitivity only when it was present before the treatment. In some rare cases if the tooth or teeth are already compromised.

My one of the teeth is paining and that teeth is become black. I didn't eat properly what I should do?

BDS
Dentist, Ajmer
Pain in teeth clearly suggests caries or cavities in local language. Visit your dentist, he will take an x-ray and determine the current status of your affected tooth. If the extent of caries is not extending to the pulp (vital part of the tooth), he will suggest you to go for restoration (filling). If the extent of caries is upto the pulp you have to go for root canal treatment. X-ray and visual examinations will be helpful in suggesting you a treatment.

I am 25 year old. I have a problem my mouth does not not remain fresh and white coating on the tongue causes bad breathe type symptoms that makes me uneasy what to do ? Please suggest.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. Kindly consult a physician & dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.
