Mr. lybrate-user, First thing is to control blood glucose effectively with fasting around 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8. Plus do some exercises. Meet a local physiotherapist, who will suggest specific exercise to help bending and extending lower limbs. Unless I actually see the situation, there is no way to suggest anything. Thanks.

Hello doctors, My antitpo antibodies are coming normal am I suffering from gynecomastia or not ,what is the treatment...
Male breast or gynecomastia reduction. Is one of the most frequently performed office surgeries and we are the pioneers in central india since last 30 years. To the best of our knowledge no medicines or creams work to decrease the breast size. Gynecomastia is treatable by surgery. There is no medical treatment. It is a one day out patient surgery with very gratifying results. It boosts self esteem also. The Dr. Can examine and tell you what is the problem, gynacomastia has a breast tissue and a fat component. No one wants surgery unless it is necessary. There is no medication which can give the results. Surgery is the only answer. The surgery is almost painless because there are enough medications to keep the pain under control. It can be a day care surgery or 1 day hospital stay. There is no bed rest but 3-5 days are required for recovery and 10 days for full recovery. In 3 weeks you can go the the gym. Gynacomastia is not a disease but excess response to hormones. If it does not bother you you don't have to get it removed. As long as the breast size is big it is taken as gynacomastia which could be because of more fat or more breast tissue or a mixture of the two. Wait till 18 years of age and then if not resolved look for surgical treatment. Hot or cold weather can change the nipple size.

Please note the following in respect to your queries: Yes it can be sorted out with Homeopathic treatment. Please use -- Natural aphrodisiacs which can improve your libido and prevent premature ejaculation. This would include carrots, fennel seeds, celery, bananas, garlic, onion, ginger, shellfish, lettuce etc. - Including these foods in your daily diet will ensure that you remain free from sexual problems, including premature ejaculation. Also take a dose of Acid Phos 1M/single dose and revert after 2 weeks. Avoid watching porn. Limit masturbation to once/twice a week only. Continue treatment.

Hello, pcos or pcod s a problem in which a woman's hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant. Pcos also may cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it isn't treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease. The most common symptoms are: acne. Weight gain and trouble losing weight. Extra hair on the face and body. Thinning hair or even hair loss on scalp. Irregular periods. Often women with pcos have fewer than nine periods a year. Some women have no periods. Others have very heavy bleeding. Fertility problems. Many women who have pcos have trouble getting pregnant (infertility), depression. Regular exercise, healthy foods, and weight control are the key treatments for pcos. Treatment (hormonal) can reduce unpleasant symptoms and help prevent long-term health problems. Try to fit in moderate activity and/or vigorous activity often. Brisk walking, jogging, dance or aerobics are great exercise that most people can do. Eat heart-healthy foods. This includes lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans, and whole grains. It limits foods that are high insaturated fat, such as meats, cheeses, and fried foods. Most women who have pcos can benefit from losing weight. Even losing 5 kg may help get your hormones in balance, regulate your menstrual cycle and can make you ovulate.

Arthritis: Dealing With It

Inflammation or swelling can be caused due to body's natural response to injury or disease. And arthritis is a disease in which the joints in your body swell. The inflammation or swelling can cause discomfort in the form of pain, stiffness as well as difficulty in movement.

Some of the common causes of arthritis are:

1. Infections in the joint.
2. Genetic makeup in which arthritis can be a hereditary trait
3. Imbalance in the immunity system
4. Physically taxing work life or injuries caused in an accident

Risk factors associated with arthritis:

1. Obesity - Excess weight can put a lot of pressure on the joints, on the knees and hips in particular. Hence, obese people have more chances of developing arthritis than fitter people.
2. Age - The risk of arthritis can increase with age. Types like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout are more common in the old age.
3. Joint injury - Joint injury caused due to accidents or due to sports activities can trigger arthritis. People with previous joint injuries can develop arthritis in that joint.
4. Family history - You can be prone to develop arthritis if it runs in the family. It can occur due to its hereditary trait hence making you more vulnerable to the environmental factors which contribute to developing arthritis.
5. Gender - Your sex is an important factor as women are more likely to develop rheumatoid arthritis while men are prone to suffer from gout.

Tips to deal with arthritis:

1. Take Vitamins and olive oil: Vitamins are crucial, especially A, C and D. Vitamin A can be found in carrots. vitamin D can yet again be found in fish while vitamin C can be found in strawberries, mangoes, pineapples and oranges. Olive oil is also useful because it contains polyphenols which reduce the chances of developing arthritis.

2. Control your weight: This is very important, especially for your knees. It has been proven by researchers at John Hopkins University that if you are 10 kg overweight, then 30 to 60 extra kilograms of weight fall on your knees.

3. Take Omega-3 fatty acids: Research proves that the regular consumption of Omega-3 fatty acids, present in fish, result in decreased risks of rheumatoid arthritis. Omega-3 fatty acids are also found in foods such as olive oil and walnuts.

“Many reasons cause body temperature to rise suddenly – hot, humid weather, rigorous exercise, emotional stress, a panic attack. Even spicy foods can cause excessive sweating,” says Dr. Ernest Wang, Senior Consultant, Department of Neurosurgery, National Neuroscience Institute (NNI), a member of the SingHealth group. Excessive sweating can result in sweaty palms (palmar hyperhidrosis), sweaty feet (plantar hyperhidrosis) or sweaty armpits (axillary hyperhidrosis). Even caffeine can cause hyperhidrosis The human body has two to five million eccrine sweat glands covering most of the skin. They automatically release fluid onto the skin surface when the body temperature rises. When the perspiration evaporates, the body cools down. Specialised apocrine sweat glands are responsible for excessive sweating under the armpits. Besides hot, humid weather, stress and anxiety, there are other triggers for sweaty palms and feet: Caffeinated drinks and alcohol Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) Medicinal drugs (such as certain painkillers, cardiovascular drugs and antidepressants) Menopause Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) How to treat sweaty palms and feet? Over-the-counter scented antiperspirants can help to mask the unpleasant odour of sweat and reduce excessive perspiration for a day or two. For longer relief, look for stronger antiperspirants containing aluminium chloride. Some dermatologists in Singapore treat sweaty palms and armpits with Botox (Botulinum toxin) injections, but results only last about four to six months. Other dermatologists use iontophoresis, which is the use of a low electric current to stop the sweat glands. It also brings temporary relief. For severe hyperhidrosis, doctors may recommend a surgical procedure known as endoscopic transthoracic sympathectomy. This surgery is the only way to stop hyperhidrosis permanently. “Done under general anaesthesia, the operation involves cutting the sympathetic nerves that control the sweat glands through a tiny incision in the armpit. Patients can usually resume their normal activity within a few days,” says Wang. Tips on coping with sweaty palms and feet If you are constantly plagued by sweaty palms and feet or armpits, you can take the following steps: Apply antiperspirants on your palms and feet before going to bed. Avoid caffeine and spicy foods which may trigger the sympathetic nervous system. Shower daily, but avoid saunas and hot showers to prevent body temperatures from rising too rapidly. Keep your feet dry after a bath or shower to prevent the growth of micro-organisms. Foot odour is caused by bacterial growth. Go barefoot to air your feet. Let your shoes dry out first before you wear them. Always ensure your feet are dry before you put on your shoes. Wear loose-fitting cotton socks and clothing made of natural materials. They absorb moisture better and allow your feet and skin to breathe. Use relaxation techniques such as meditation and deep breathing to control the stress that can trigger sweaty palms. “Don’t let excessive sweating be an obstacle to having a normal social life. Know what can cause excessive sweating and try to control these triggers.

The key is to eat in moderation at regular intervals, and not to starve yourself. Start your day with a good and healthy breakfast like a cereal and milk combination for e. G oats/ dalia porridge with low fat milk or curd. Between your lunch and breakfast you can have a light mid-morning snack, i. E, a fruit perhaps, and follow this by a balanced meal in moderate quantity for lunch. Have plenty of vegetables which will keep you full and cut down on the amount of rice/ chapatis that you are having. Also cut down on your fat intake and reduce oil in cooking. Avoid fast food, junk food, sugary food and soft drinks. Along with this, do not forget to exercise regularly. For a detailed diet plan, click on private consultation.
