Patients who have a history of gum diseases should also consult their periodontist while undergoing orthodontic treatment.

How can you spot the FAD? How does physiotherapy help yuvraj or Dhoni? What can I do for cavity in my teeth I have shown to doctor and he suggest to me felling cavity?

BDS

Teeth pain may be due to various reasons like infection, sensitivity or trauma. If your teeth is decayed it is better to get it filled or treated by a dentist. If you are opting for root canal treatment do not forget to get a crown on the effected tooth. If you want to go for only medicinal treatment so let me tell you only medicine are not going to be very effective untill you get this treated by a dentist.

If you have a complaint of bad breath even after brushing and regular clean up, then remember to clean your tongue well as it could also be the reason for bad breath.

I am facing bad breath for a couple of days? Does it need medical attention? What can it probably be? I brush my teeth twice a day. Thanks in advance.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. Kindly consult a physician & dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

You can exercise for healthier gums as well
You can exercise for healthier gums as well. Gently bite down so as to make sure that your teeth make a clinking sound when they meet. Repeat this 30 to 40 times continously. This exercise will stimulate the flow of blood and will keep your gums healthy.

I am 22 years, working in MNC in rotational shifts sometimes in night shifts also. I am facing mouth ulcer issue every month. Any particular reason can be behind it? What can you suggest as best practice to avoid mouth ulcer.

MBBS, cc USG
General Physician, Gurgaon
This may be due to stress/ poor oral hygine/ constipation/ Multivitamin def etc you could apply a little ghee directly to the ulcerated area, Dab a little honey onto the mouth ulcer or mix in a little turmeric to make a paste that can be applied on the affected area. Medicines can be started after personal consultation

I have done Root Canal on my molar tooth 1 year before. There is a gap between my two molars. Food gets stuck every time I eat something. I have to remove it using toothpick every time. My second molar tooth is now paining. Is it infection on the molar tooth? Or is it infection in the gap? Please help.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Pune
I think this is the gap between the two molar. Food stucks in between the two molar & decays. So the other molar tooth is also infected. Pl. Consult Dentist nearby. Properly brushing two times. Gargles with warm water+salt two times is must. Avod chocklets, pestries, sweet things, smoking, tobacco, pan gutakha should be stopped if you're having.

I would suggest you-bleaching of teeth. Dental bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry. According to the fda, whitening restores natural tooth color and bleaching whitens beyond the natural color. There are many methods available, such as brushing, bleaching strips, bleaching pen, bleaching gel, and laser bleaching. Teeth whitening has become the most requested procedure in cosmetic dentistry today.

Hi I am suffering from teeth problem day by day its getting shorter He can I get over?

BDS

Dental attrition is a type of tooth wear caused by tooth-to-tooth contact,[1] resulting in loss of tooth tissue, usually starting at the incisal or occlusal surfaces. Tooth wear is a physiological process and is commonly seen as a normal part of aging. Advanced and excessive wear and tooth surface loss can be defined as pathological in nature, requiring intervention by a dental practitioner. The pathological wear of the tooth surface can be caused by bruxism, which is clenching and grinding of the teeth. If the attrition is severe, the enamel can be completely worn away leaving underlying dentin exposed, resulting in an increased risk of dental caries and dentin hypersensitivity. It is best to identify pathological attrition at an early stage to prevent unnecessary loss of tooth structure as enamel does not regenerate Prevention[edit] Patient Wearing Occlusal Splint When a diagnosis of bruxism has been confirmed, it is recommended that the patient buy a full-coverage acrylic occlusal splint, such as a Michigan Splint or Tanner appliance, to prevent further bruxism. Patients must be monitored closely, with clinical photographs 6–12 monthly to evaluate if the tooth surface loss is being prevented. Treatment[edit] Cosmetic or functional intervention may be required if tooth surface loss is pathological or if there has been advanced loss of tooth structure.[18] The first stage of treatment involves managing any associated conditions, such as fractured teeth or sharp cusps or incisal edges. These can be resolved by restoring and polishing sharp cusps. Then, desensitizing agents such as topical fluoride varnishes can be applied, and at home desensitising toothpastes recommended. Many restorative options have been proposed, such as direct composite restorations, bonded cast metal restorations, removable partial dentures, orthodontic treatment, crown lengthening procedures and protective splints.[18] The decision to restore the dentition depends on the wants and needs of the patient, the severity of tooth surface loss and whether tooth surface loss is active.[16] The use of adhesive materials to replace lost tooth structure can be performed as a conservative and cost-effective approach before a more permanent solution of crowns or veneers is considered.

Hello Doctor I have Dental problem, between my teeth gap is their and its not looking good while laughing due to this I am not enjoying party and groups. My age is 24 years and I want to doctor also nd they suggest me to put clip in teeth, but also told 2 teeth they will take out also. For that I want suggestion if I do this is it beneficial for me and will it create any problem in future for taking teeth out in this age? And if I do so. Then how long it will take to recover. Please suggest me what to do?

BDS
Dentist, Faridabad
Hello you mentioned that you have gaps in your teeth. If the gaps are due to cavities, get them filled. But if you have been suggested ortho treatment, then it is not necessary that teeth have to be removed. If space is already present, then I do not see the need for removal until unless opposing teeth are posing a problem for their alignment. Please see an orthodontist/dentist to get full evaluation done. If the teeth has to be removed, the space created will be adjusted and closed by moving the teeth backwards. The healing of the sockets, if taken care properly is uneventful and usually heals in 5-10 days.

How to maintain oral hygiene because after some hours im getting bad smell from mouth.

Advanced Aesthetics, BDS

Hi, there are various reasons of bad breath, like impurities in blood, inefficient digestive system, dry mouth (lack of saliva production), gum disease, cavities, plaque and tartar formation around teeth and gums, kind of diet, improper brushing / cleaning of mouth etc. I would advise you to get a thorough physical and dental examination to rule out the cause of bad breath and to solve it permanently.

This does not seem normal. Visit a dentist asap n get a x ray done to check the status of your rct n surrounding tissue. If there is re infection, rct has to b repeated. Pain could also b due to food lodgment around crown leading to gum infection.

I am 27 year old female and do whitening toothpastes whiten teeth more than regular toothpastes and is it safe to microwave food in plastic containers?

MDS, BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Yes whitening tooth paste helps. But it is not recommended for long term as they contain more abrasives which harm the teeth on long run. Short term use is ok. Use only microwave safe plastic.
