Have some patience. Usually acne are formed due to clogging of skin pores and excesses of sebum production due to hormonal imbalance. If you get stressed due to your acne then the condition gets worse than getting resolve. Start drinking good amount of hot water only to hydrate skin, keep your mind cool, wash your face 6-8 times only with plane water, use some non moisturizing soap like santoor. Apply Kumkumadi lepam once daily for your scars. Give some time for your skin to heal. Take only veg diet avoid fatty diet and add regular exercise. This is a systemic problem not a local. Do it for 15 days you will feel the difference. If no change consult for medications.

What is the minimum size of penis to satisfy a woman and how long intercourse should be to satisfy a girl?

MD - Ayurveda
Ayurveda, Hyderabad
Duration to satisfy a women depends on the women you are having sex with, its all an individual instinct. Your women will be the right person to say when to stop nothing is fixed, respect her feelings. Minimum size is anything above 4-5 inch on erection is enough, if more than 6 inch is a bonus for your partner. Stop involving in these type of doubts and concentrate on your partners happiness. Long sex is just a myth what matters is the way you foreplay with her.

You need to focus on your overall health and change your lifestyle. Not only taking the prescribed medicines on time but also spending some time to exercise every day. You can also learn Yoga which can help you balance the mind and body, thereby help reduce the need for increasing dosage of medicines over time. Hi, RBC in lumbar puncture mostly indicate traumatic CSF means blood from layers of skin mixes with csf. For Subarachnoid haemorrhage xanthochromia is diagnostic. Its very difficult you to understand. I just want to tell you that get a non contrast CT brain, it will exclude cerebral haemorrhage. In a hypertensive patient with vomiting & headache one must exclude cerebral haemorrhage.

Ringworm or Tinea infections, are a fungal skin disease. A family of fungi called dermatophytes causes these infections which might occur anywhere on the body, typically the arms, legs, neck, groin, scalp, hair, nails or beard. The fungi survive on the dead skin cells or keratin and rarely invade the deeper membranes and tissues. However, many ringworm (or Tinea) infections often recur and the usual medicines simply do not help the patient. Homoeopathic constitutional treatment will give you a permanent cure You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance and permanent cure without any side effects Medicines will reach you via courier services

Dear lybrate-user ,As you mentioned that you are having Acne, I would like to inform you that there are many other causative factors which are thoroughly analyzed during your consultation before starting the treatment. The causative factors may not be necessarily based into the affected region and may be associated with disorders of internal organs. It is, the nature of the problem that calls in for the strategy of the treatment which may include internal remedies supported by external modalities like:- localized immune-enhancer activities to affected region i.e. Acupuncture, applications of products with certified organic herbs, modernized cosmetology and procedures based on ancient principles as mentioned in classical text including Constitutional diet & Yoga. On examination by the concerned Doctor and on case taking these details are given to you as a routine procedure. Acne may range from non contagious pimples to deep seated chronic inflammatory disorders. This is a disorder of the hair bearing skin in which hair follicles develop obstructing plugs (comedones) as a result of which inflammation develops around the obstructed follicles, causing tissue destruction and scar formation. It has been estimated that 70% of the population have some clinically evident acne at some stage during adolescence. The course of the disease is chronic with frequent remission and exacerbations. Acne tends to subside in the twenties but may persist indefinitely.

Dear lybrate-user The high stress, loss of sleep, lack of exercise can increase the blood pressure momentarily. The high blood pressure i.e. The pressure of the blood that flowing in your vessels is sometimes getting high if there will be any triggers factor such as high stress, loss of sleep, lack of exercise and it will come to normal level if those triggers factor stop. So it is not necessary to increase the blood pressure medicines rather you can practice other healthy approach like regular exercise, taking of healthy foods, living with a healthy life style, practice of yoga and pranayam (breathing exercise) daily, reducing of salt level, and most important do not take stress or give stress to your brain. In any difficult situation rather without being stress finding the solution for the things that will help you to perventing you to become sytress. Thank you.

Sore Throat and Strep Throat - Are They Same?

MBBS,CCA,DCA,AASECT,FPA,AAD,F.H.R.SM.I.M.S

Sore Throat and Strep Throat - Are They Same?

Throat pain mainly occurs due to two conditions-'sore throat' or 'strep throat'. Often the terms 'sore throat' and 'strep throat' are used interchangeably, but they don't indicate the same thing. While a sore throat is a condition mostly followed by common cold, runny nose or congestion; strep throat is a bacteria-induced infection. The bacterium called Streptococcus is responsible for strep throat.

The most common reason behind a sore throat is a viral infection like flu or cold. So, if you've a sore throat that is caused by virus, there is no reason to worry as it can be treated easily. But if you are suffering from strep throat or streptococcal infection, then antibiotic drugs for additional treatment will be required to avoid complications.

Signs and symptoms of a strep throat (which indicates that your throat pain is serious and needs attention) include:

  • Pain while swallowing food
  • Sore throat which usually persists for more than 48 hours
  • Small red spots at the roof top of your mouth
  • Swollen and red tonsils at times with streaks of pus or white patches
  • Fever
  • Swollen, benign lymph nodes in your neck
  • Headache
  • Rash
  • Body aches
  • Vomiting or feeling of nausea, especially amongst younger children

When these signs and symptoms become noticeable, you need to promptly visit your doctor for test and treatment. And, if the reports indicate strep throat, then your doctor will prescribe you some oral antibiotics to reduce the complications and severity of symptoms so that it doesn't spread to others. You are advised to follow your prescription properly and stay indoors for at least a day after starting your medication.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder(OCD) - Causes, Symptoms and Treatments!

OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder is a mental condition, which traps people in a cycle of repetitive thoughts that push them to do repetitive behaviors. As the name states, the obsession over certain things compels them to do it over and over again. These actions will only help you feel relieved for a short time and soon the cycle starts back again.

Symptoms of OCD

The symptoms of OCD are classified into two groups, one for the obsessive behavior and the other for compulsive behavior. Some of the common symptoms for these are mentioned below:

Obsessive behaviors

As the name states this means obsessing over certain things, which varies from person to person. Some of the things could be:

  1. Being scared about making mistakes.
  2. The fear of being embarrassed in public situations.
  3. Constantly being scared about contamination by germs, microbes or dirt.
  4. Doubts about sure and simple situations and the need to be constantly reassured about them.

Compulsive behaviors

The obsessions usually results in compulsive behaviors, which you may need to perform to reassure and relieve yourself of the anxiety temporarily. Some of these may include:

  1. Trying to constantly arrange things in a certain way and still not being satisfied.
  2. Thoughts, words and images being stuck in your head throughout the day that may keep you disturbed and cause to lose sleep.
  3. You may even repeat specific words or actions multiple times as a measure of self reassurance.
  4. Hoarding of items, which have no value.

Causes of OCD

Biological factors: Certain chemical imbalances in the brain may lead to OCD, which may happen due to hormonal or biological changes. In fact certain infections are also known to trigger OCD in people.

Environmental factors: Certain types of mental trauma have been known to trigger OCD as well, such as

  1. Office, school, college or other work related stresses over a long period of time.
  2. The passing away of a near and dear one.
  3. Relationship problems.
  4. Repressed abuses from earlier in life.

Treatments

Most treatments of OCD are categorized into two types:

  1. Cognitive behavioral therapy: This is a counseling based therapy where you may be slowly asked to face your fears and overcome them over a period of time.
  2. Medications: Antidepressants, inhibitors, or antipsychotic drugs or relaxants in various combinations may be used to treat OCD.
  3. Electroconvulsive therapy: Only in the rarest of cases would doctors consider electroconvulsive therapy, if the patient is a danger to themselves or others around them.

I am suffering from Jock itch. Its very painful .Have this from 5 months. Kindly suggest me best Cream, medicines for it.

MBBS, Diploma in Venerology & Dermatology (DVD)
Dermatologist, Delhi
Jock itch is a kind of fungal infection. Along with treatment it is very imp to take precautions like avoiding hot and humid climate, using an antifungal dusting powder regularly, washing your clothes daily, maintaining proper personal hygiene. Creams like clotrimazole are available in most stores as antifungal creams. Do not use a combination as it will also contain a steroid to give faster relief from itching but it will aggravate your problem if used for longer perood. Switch to a plain antifungal. Higher antifungals are more effective. Sertaconazole is a good option. I would suggest you to get your self examined by a dermatologist near you in case you need to be put on antifungal tablets. Plain antifungal cream should be used for atleast 2 weeks after the infection visibly subsides. I cannot recommend or prescribe any particular cream on this forum as I will need to examine you first.

Hello, first of all there are many causes for acne. So if it's recurring as mentioned above by you, then we have to investigate you completely and also rule out any hormonal irregularities. Once we get to know the cause then we can put a stop to it or else it keeps recurring. You can make certain dietary modificatons such as increasing the intake of frsh fruits abd vegrtables, drinking plenty of water to flush out the toxins, adding vitamin A, E , C to your diet.

Hi, My wife is 8 days late for her period. During ovulation she was under treatment for Acne and was prescribed Doxy 1, 2 tablets per day. After missing her period she has not been well, body temperature looks above normal. She sometimes feels nauseous specially after having food, lightheaded sometimes which have increased in frequency. What is worry is that she is sometimes having sharp pain in the right side of the abdomen. Which comes and goes and is more like throbbing pain. She had undergone USG on 11.11.17 and reports were normal. Blood test for T3, T4, FSH, LH, Prolactin, DHEAS was also normal. We have done 2 home pregnancy tests on 7/12/17 and 11.12.17 both came negative. All other symptoms indicate pregnancy but the tests are coming negative. Also if this is a case of pregnancy will it be safe to continue with it as she was conceived when she was having high does of Doxycycline? What is happening with her? Consulted a local Gynecologist who asked to wait for few days and again test for pregnancy. She has gained around 5-6 kgs in the last month. She is also having a white / colorless vaginal discharge for the past few days and this has increased from the last 12 hours. The color has changed from colorless to light yellowish. Can this be any kind of infection?

It's a sign of pelvic infection and to add to it side effects of doxycycline to rule out pregnancy better get beta hcg done and a urine routine with culture along with vaginal swab test to see reason of infection and yellow discharge. Based on these results sensitive antibiotics course will be given sometimes if patient is resistant may need injectable medicines worst situation if all tests come normal then only way to know cause and treat it is by doing Laparoscopy (key hole surgery)

I have loss my hair and Large amount of dandruff also so please tell me what can I do for this Problem.
Many factors are involved in the process of hair loss like Tension or stress, chemical damage, nutritional deficiency, enviornmental factors, unadequate sleep or diet etc. A careful analysis of the person is required to initiate the treatment From Home remedy part you can use following: Take 100 ml coconut oil boil 2-4 pcs of amla fruit n 8-10 curry leaves in that oil till fruit n leaves turn black. Filter and strain. Massage it on scalp with finger tips gently. Wash hair next morning with curd mixed with besan. In ready to use you can start using rishi grow hair oil at bed time wash with robin plus herbal shampoo. Clean oil is recommended if dandruff is the reason as this oil treats it in just two applications along with reducing itching. Internal ayurvedic medicines can be provided after studying your bodily constitution as per ayurveda. This process should be continued for two months and your hair fall will reduce to normal. As it's a very slow process so you can't see results in a week. Eat more of green leafy vegies and fresh seasonal fruits. Take amla powder or amla murabba/ carrot murabba twice daily. Use neem wood comb for managing hair and this should be changed regularly. Reduce your stress by yoga, Pranayam and meditation. Add some coconut daily in your diet. Keep water in copper vessel overnight and drink in the morning empty stomach. Avoid chinese foods and food stuffs packed in plastics. Avoid white flour (maida), excessive salt and spices. Let me know after it and I will advise accordingly.
