Ovarian cysts 3 cm or smaller are functional cysts, part of the ovulatory cycle, and do not require treatment. Larger cysts also often resolve on their own but should be followed up with an ultrasound in 1 to 3 months. Sometimes birth control pills, patch or ring are used to help the cyst shrink, very large, 6 cm or larger, cysts containing solid material, and cysts with several compartments or septations, sometime require laparoscopic surgery. After an ovarian cyst is evaluated by ultrasound and found to be only fluid (no solid components) it is best to let it heal on its own.

Condom use karne se pregnancy ka bahut kam chance hota hai. Kaccha papita ek tarah ka enzyme release karta hai papain jo progesterone ke release ko rokta hai jis se pregnancy ko rukne mein problem aa sakta hai, generally pregnancy mein kaccha papita avoid karte hai.

I had protected sex (we used condom) with my hubby on 12 may 2019 in my non fertile period and for more safety I took ipill also. within 48 hrs on 14th may 2019 my last period date was 20 aprl 2019. My period cycle was of 28-30 days. Should I have to worry about pregnancy? Can ipill delay my periods I took ipill last month also on 12 april 2019? Can ipill permanently stop periods?

No, it can not permanently stop period. But yes it can disturb hormonal balance. There is no fixed time in which one bleeds after taking an emergency contraceptive pill. Sometimes unexpected bleeding occurs more over it is not necessary. Next menstrual cycle can be early or delayed as side effects of the pill.

Papaya (papita) you have unsafe intercourse, try having papaya twice a day for 3-4 days afterwards to reduce chances of unwanted pregnancy. Neem neem is one of the indian home remedies to avoid pregnancy. It is available as leaves, oil and leaf extract. Neem oil kills sperm within 30 seconds if injected where the uterus and fallopian tubes join, while neem tablets promote temporary sterility in men. Ginger (adrakh) ginger stimulates menstrual blood flow. Wash and grate ginger. Add the grated ginger to a pan of boiling water. Steep it for five minutes and then strain the mixture. Drink 2 cups of this strong ginger tea every day to prevent pregnancy.

Dear lybrate-user ji, delayed menses may be due to the following: -stress: mental stress can temporarily alter the functioning of your hypothalamus — an area of your brain that controls the hormones that regulate your menstrual cycle -cysts in ovaries, -thyroid problems, -uterine diseases like polyps, fibroids, adenomyosis, -hormonal imbalances, -some medications like, anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, allergy medicines etc. Homeopathy has got complete cure for delayed menses by constitutional treatment and holistic approach. Homeopathic medicines help to resolve the underlying cause along with brings the hormones into normal without any external hormones. I suggest you to take an appointment for consultation so that detail case can be discussed and rule out the cause and proceed further for treatment. You can consult me online. Thank you.

Preconception Care - Know Utility Of It!

Preconception care refers to the care that a woman should take before getting pregnant. This refers to all the procedures and measures to be taken by a woman before pregnancy for maintaining good health before giving birth. Good preconception care also ensures proper health of the to-be-born child. Seeking information about pregnancy is also a part of preconception care by which a woman can prepare herself better physically and emotionally before childbirth. Visiting doctors and health practitioners is part of preconception care. The body is prepared for giving birth during preconception care.

-Nutritional supplements during preconception care

Certain nutritional supplements are recommended for women during this stage. Folic acid is an important vitamin which enables healthy growth and development of the baby. Folic acid reduces birth defects like spina bifida.

Other healthy supplements which a woman may require during preconception care include iron, zinc and calcium. A healthy, balanced diet and drinking a lot of water are also important.

Blood Tests

Visiting a doctor is necessary during preconception care. You will require a detailed physical health checkup and required guidelines from a health expert. Recommended blood tests include full blood count, testing of ferritin levels and testing for rubella. Urine tests and blood pressure checkup are also vital.

Moreover, several measures and steps must be followed by a woman. They include the following:

  1. Having a proper diet with sufficient water intake along with nutritional supplements is very important.
  2. A woman during preconception care should quit smoking or reduce the amount of smoking profusely.
  3. A large amount of caffeine should be avoided. A woman should consume less caffeine-containing products such as coffee, chocolates or soft drinks.
  4. Alcohol should be avoided strictly as it may reduce the chance of pregnancy.
  5. Medication without the recommendation of the doctor should be avoided. A woman should not use any medicine without being prescribed by the doctor.
  6. Contact with any kind of chemical should be avoided and natural, environment-friendly cleaning products should be used.
  7. Overheating of the body should be avoided, and a woman during preconception care should keep away from spas and saunas.
  8. A regular exercise schedule must be taken up for health benefits regarding pregnancy. Lack of working out may give rise to various health problems in women before pregnancy.
  9. Any kind of stressful activity should be abstained from, and a woman during preconception care should not lift heavy objects, which cause strain.
  10. Relaxation techniques should be practised by a woman to keep mentally healthy.

A woman during the preconception care period should follow all required guidelines given by a doctor. Avid care of the body should be taken to ensure healthy childbirth.
