The process of the growth of enamel on the teeth is carried out by Amelogenesis in three distinct stages called inductive stag, secretory stage, and maturation stage. This process usually takes place during the dentin formation and is characterized by IEE differentiation that leads to reciprocal induction between mesenchymal and epithelial cells.
HOW IS AMELOGENESIS DIAGNOSED?
During the enamel matrix formation, ameloblasts start getting secreted after dentin has been laid down. This is followed by the formation of the dentinoenamel membrane. This membrane prevents the contact between enamel rods and dentin. In the second stage, which is mineralization, partial mineralization of the matrix occurs, accounting for 25-30% of the total mineral content. The second stage is complete mineralization.
HOW IS AMELOGENESIS TREATED?
A dentist can determine whether or not the tooth enamel development and tooth growth is happening in a proper manner. Dental X Rays and visual examinations can also determine any anomalies.
