These may be due to paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, ask your cardiologist for a 24 hour holter monitoring study. It is just a continuous ecg recording for 24 hours and will pick up any abnormality in heart beats that occurs at any time of the day.

Swine Flu

Internal Medicine Specialist, Ajmer
Swine Flu

Swine flu is infection by influenza virus, scientifically called an h1n1 virus. In the mild forms it presents as common cold (running nose, cough, body aches, mild fever) but in some patients (in a small minority of people) it may become severe and causes pneumonia. Its characteristic feature is that it involves both lungs at the same time and in a very short time so suddenly patient starts developing difficulty in breathing. At this stage some patients require oxygen support and in most severe cases ventilator support may be required. No one can predict that who will develop the severe disease but some people are more susceptible for the same including pregnant women, diabetic patients, and patients having long standing lung, heart, liver or kidney related diseases.
In most of the cases, this flu passes away with simple common cold and these people require only symptomatic treatment and they need not to worry but in severe cases and in the susceptible group as mentioned above specific antiviral drug is given. The best way is to protect yourself and others by maintaining hygiene. Always use hankies or tissues for wiping a nose, cover your face while coughing, wash hands after coughing and sneezing if you have the flu, drink plenty of water.

I want to prevent from aids so I want to know what are the causes of aids and how I can prevent from it.

Internal Medicine Specialist, Ajmer
Aids transmits from an infected person to a non infected one through sexual contact, reusing infected needles and syringes, transfusion of infected blood. To prevent this the most effective step is to have single sex partner and using only packed sterile needles and syringes for injection.

I have hoarseness of voice for last two weeks. I am a smoker. Smoke 8 cigs daily. Is there anything to concern? Should I visit any ENT doctor.

Internal Medicine Specialist, Ajmer
Yes you must. Sudden onset hoarseness of voice must be taken seriously and you need an indirect larygoscopic examination by an ent surgeon.

Please do not give medicines to kids without prescription of a pediatrician. Children cannot tolerate each and every unwanted drugs. Liver has nothing to do with diarrhea. Get a thorough check up with a good pediatrician.

All antiepileptic medicines have side effects and there is no benefit of giving medicine which is not able to control the disease, so switching over to the other is good.
