There is no fixed time in which one bleeds after taking ecp. Sometimes unexpected bleeding occurs more over it is not necessary. Next menstrual cycle can be early or delayed as side effects of the pill.

To prevent pimples, eat fresh fruits, green vegetables, drinking plenty of water should be an essential part of your routine and intake of oily fried foods, an excess of sugar-salt should be avoided. Don't peal pimples, as they tend to leave scars. Simple honey mask before applying this mask, rinse your face with warm water to open up pores. Then apply honey and leave it on the skin for 30 minutes. Rinse the honey off with warm water; then rinse again with cold water to close the pores. Yeast and yogurt mask for oily skin oily skin is prone to acne, and this home remedy can reduce excess oil and help clear acne. To make the mask, combine 1 teaspoon of brewer's yeast with a little plain yogurt to create a thin mixture. Apply it thoroughly to all the oily areas and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water; then use cold water to close the pores. For permanent cure you need constitutional medicines, for that I need detailed case history. You can apply aloe vera juice/gel from its leaf (fresh), not from ready made gels available in market. Remove skin of an aloe vera leaf. Take /scoop out gel. Apply this gel to your skin. Wash with plain water after an hour. Or keep it overnight. Use some sunblock with spf (at least 50) every time you go out in sun. Apply it 30 mins before going out use umbrella when going in sun. Drink plenty of fluids.Don’t be stressed. U need proper constitutional med to get permanent relief. Ask for consultation so that I can help you better.

Fibromyalgia - Learn About Its Main Symptoms!

Fibromyalgia - Learn About Its Main Symptoms!

Fibromyalgia is a condition characterised by chronic widespread body pains and increased responsiveness to pressure. Women are at a higher risk of suffering from this disorder than men. Fibromyalgia can be treated with physiotherapy, pharmacotherapy and combined efforts of physician and the patient.

Some of the symptoms that characterize this disorder are:

  1. PainFibromyalgia is characterized by pain that has no apparent reason. It can affect different parts of the body and presents itself in different ways. Some people may experience a stabbing pain while others complain of a persistent dull ache. This pain may be affected by climate changes or stressful situations. There is reduced threshold to pain, because of certain chemical ( neurotransmitters) abnormalities in brain. Pain is generalized, felt above and below the waist, right and left-side of body, arms, legs, neck and back.
  2. Abnormal Sensitivity: Fibromyalgia patients are extremely sensitive to environmental changes that involve sight, sound and smell. For example, cigarette smoke can make a fibromyalgia patient extremely nauseous while loud music can give the person an instant headache. Lights that are brighter than normal can also make such a person feel uncomfortable. Patients have an abnormal sensitivity to pain, which leads to generalized aching of the body and tender points.
  3. Muscle & Joint Stiffness: Fibromyalgia patients often experience stiff muscles and joints without any form of strenuous activity or other reason. This may be localised to one group of muscles or affect the whole body. For some patients, this pain is worse in the morning or when sitting for extended periods of time. However, moving around does not provide any significant relief.
  4. Chronic fatigue and exhaustion: There are two main reasons for a fibromyalgia patient to complain of tiredness. Firstly, the condition itself drains a person of energy even without overexerting themselves. Secondly, the pain and joint stiffness can hamper a person’s sleep and lead to sleep deprivation. Over time, this can become a vicious cycle of tiredness and insomnia. Chronic fatigue also affects a person’s immune system causing his or her energy levels to drop.
  5. Cognitive impairments: Fibromyalgia patients also complain of a compromised short term memory. They often face difficulties recalling names of people they have recently met or other newly acquired information. These people may also have trouble concentrating on tasks for extended periods of time and experience mental sluggishness also known as fibro-fog.
  6. Irritable bowel syndromeBowel disturbance is another common symptom of this disease. Passing stool may become difficult due to a combination of pain and muscle stiffness. With time, this problem can worsen unless addressed with laxatives. However, an over-dependence on laxatives can lead to further problems.
  7. Somatic Symptoms: Apart from pain, patient experiences unrefreshing sleep and fatigue throughout the day. Other associated features can be depression, abdominal cramps, chest pain, tingling.
  8. Lab Tests: Fibromyalgia is a clinical diagnosis. There are no definite laboratory tests. In fact, most conducted tests will turn out to be normal.
  9. Treatment: Foremost important is an education of patient and caregivers, regarding nature of the disease. The patient needs to indulge in recreational activities and undergo supervised physiotherapy. There are potent medicines to correct the chemical imbalance in the body thereby increasing the pain threshold and leading to better quality of life.

I am 59 years old having ckd with hypertension. My latest test reports says that my s.creatinine - 0.76,bl. Urea-57, haemoglobin - 8.10, serum potassium-4.9 and serum sodium-141 and urine test were as follows. Albumin - 4+ and rbc-10-12 sugar - nil crystal- nil casts - nil pus cell - 0-2 and epithelial cells-nil. My blood pressure remains 135/80 always. I measure it every 4 hours at home but it remains in the same range 130-35/75-80. I am prescribed following medicines 1. Tablet cilnidipine 10 mg once daily 2. Tablet zytanix 2.5 mg twice daily 3. Tab. Dytor 20 mg twice daily. 5. Tablet atorva-e 10+10 mg once daily but I am depressed with the increasing proteinuria even after treatment from calcium channel blocker and diuretics combination. Two months before my albumin in urine was - + only but now its 4+. Earlier I was taking azilsartan 80 mg + amlodipine 5 mg but these drugs caused hyperkalemia so my doctor stopped it as my serum k was 6.4. He switched me to cilnidipine but since then my urine albumin has increased but bp control is better than azilsartan + amlodipine combo. So my question is does cilnidipine controls proteinuria or not? Do I need arb or acei class for controlling proteinuria or this 4th gen ccb (cilnidipine) will work for it. My doctor is not in favour of arb and acei class as it may cause hyperkalemia again. So please suggest should I continue with cilnidipine. If yes please suggest best medicine to bring down the urine albumin to minimum levels. Please help as I am very much depressed after seeing my results .also severe edema is there due to protein loss. Please help. I beg.

I have migraine problem so taking antidepressants now my brain activities have decreased.

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Bangalore
There are other medications to treat migraine. But the drugs given to you must be dicussed with your doctor.

I was taking glycomet gp 0.5 forte twice daily for two years and sugar levels were in control avg fasting=120 & pp 140, but since the beta cells would eventually be destroyed by the said combination the doctor changed the medicine to galvus met 50/500 twice aday. But now sugar levels are avg fasting=160 & pp=190. Kindly suggest a safer and apt medicine for controlling diabetics. Am a diabetic for past nine years.

Hello, thanks for the query. Earlier there was a feeling that glimiperide or other sulfonylureas (sus) may be causing exhaustion of beta cells. But recently in various conferences, I heard a number of top diabetologist and endocrinologist saying nothing that kind happens. In india due to cost considerations sus are being used quite extensively for many years in a large number of patients. So unless there is a clear increase in blood glucose levels there is no reason to change. But additional drugs can be added to the therapy. Many of my patients are on sus and metformin for over 15 years and still well controlled. What is the present hba1c%? If that is around 7% then still control is good enough. There are other options like sglt - 2 inhibitors along with present treatment, particularly if there is excess weight. Thanks.

I had unprotected sex on 14th of april to 16th of april. I am scared that I might be pregnant. My last period was on 24th march and lasted for 5 days. So should I do the pregnancy test or wait for my period for this month?

You need to do a urine pregnancy test. It should be done 10 days after missing your period. For example, if your date was 10th, then do the test on 20th. Before that, it can give a false negative or false positive test. So you need to wait for and test.

Hi I drink two glass of water when I wake up in the morning, can I drink green tea after that?
Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk or water will not do.

There's no "normal" amount of masturbation. Guys can get hung up on whether they masturbate too much. But it's not how many times you masturbate in a week (or day) that really matters. It's how it fits into your life. If you masturbate many times a day and have a healthy, satisfying life, good for you. But if you masturbate many times a day and you're missing work or giving up on sex with your partner because of it.
