I am a registered dietitian and a doctor who will help you in managing your weight. You need to provide me your daily food intake details. There are many lifestyle and dietary guidelines that can be followed: take high protein prescribed diet, have paneer, eggs and potatoe daily. Incorporate dry fruits in your diet on a daily basis. Eat a balanced diet as prescribed by a registered dietitian, I being a registered dietitian and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problem. I will also prescribe medicines that will speed up the time to achieve your weight management goals. Gradual weight management is always advisable. An increase in 500 kcal per day can result in increasing the body weight by 0.5 kgs per week. Objective should be to restore a desirable weight/ ideal body weight according to one's age, gender and height. To rebuild body tissues, to maintain a good nutritional status and to maintain ideal body weight. I will need to carry out detailed assessment in your case, after assessing your personal challenges to weight management, I will recommend a strategy to gradually change habits and attitudes that have sabotaged your past efforts. Hi, I wish your father a speedy recovery first of all. Its the hormonal response through which he doesn't feel like to eat. My suggestion would be give him the food which he used to like in his childhood and he likes now. Talking about diabetes, if its type 1 you need to make sure he's eating proper dinner and breakfast like scrambled eggs with 1 multigrain chappati etc and for breakfast ragi dosa with coconut chutney etc. Also educate him that if he doesn't eat he will not recover fast. For recovery make sure he takes all his vitamins and eat food like eggs, chicken, fish, tofu, soya, paneer, sweet potatoes, black beans, quinoa, oats, olive oil, desi ghee etc. Please make sure you take care of these things as the person who's suffering never takes care of himself so you should be the one who should be looking after it. There are many plans for a diabetic person and for a speedy recovery, if you need any assistance do not hesitate to get in touch with and ill be glad to assist you.

Hi lybrate-user tips for weight loss eat fresh vegetables daily. Avoid having sugar completely. Eat whole wheat bread instead of white bread; avoid everything made from white flour and make whole wheat bread, chapattis and brown rice a way of life. Do not skip a meal and eat three meals a day. Drink plenty of water to eliminate the toxins from the system. Limit your fat intake to 2-3 teaspoons a day. Increase the fiber intake as it provides a sense of fullness and also prevents hunger pangs. Take antioxidants for protecting the body against the toxins released during weight loss. Exercise catalyzes your efforts to lose weight and even regular walking for thirty minutes can give you the benefits of an aerobics exercise. To improve the metabolism, try increasing the duration, frequency, intensity of your daily workout. Remember that maintaining the ideal weight is a lifetime commitment and not a short-term affair. Firmly believe that the pleasure of being trim and healthy is far better than the pleasure of eating unwisely.

First you need health check up.If you suffer from hyperthyroidism it could occur and you should go through proper medication.And another important reason is heredity,food habit.Eat more food more frequently.Use whole cream milk or milk shake.Take banana 3-4pcs /day.Use weight gainer nutritional supplement.Take ghee,butter,cheese,cream,chocolate,jam,jelly extra.Take dense fruits,vegetables.Take more fish,egg,lean meat,cottage cheese,mushroom more.Add extra healthy fat in cooking.Avoid smoking,alcohol.Drink lots of water nut not just before or during meals.Do muscle building exercise to gain weight.Stay stress free and quality sleep.

For higher stamina: 1. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs interval instead of 3-4 large meals only. In between balanced main meals-(comprising of a whole grain, whole legume/egg/fish/chicken, low fat dairy, whole fruits, vegetables, salad); include healthy snacks in between- coconut water (w/o cream), whole fruit, roasted makhana, roasted chana (unsalted), nuts & oilseeds, soup, stew, buttermilk, salted lassi, green tea. 2. Drink 3 litres water daily to avoid dehydration. 3. Avoid junk, fried, processed, preserved, sugary foods & drinks, alcohol. 4. Replace simple carbs (sugar, jaggery, honey, maida, sago, cornflour, arrowroot flour, potato, biscuit, cake, white rice, white bread) with complex carbs (whole fruits, vegetables, salads, whole grains-atta, dalia, suji, oats, millets, barley, brown rice, atta bread, quinoa, whole legumes-sprouts, soyabean, pseudo cereals-rajgira, makhana, & nuts, oilseeds). Simple carbs cause sudden hike in blood sugar levels leading to sleepiness. 5. Avoid skipping meals 6. Have early & light dinner to feel fresh day after. 7. Sleep & wake up early. Have a sound sleep. Avoid use of mobile, laptop etc at bedtime. Complete sleep reduces stress & improves stamina 8. Brisk walk daily for 1/2 hr. Exercising releases happy hormones & make us feel active throughout the day 9. Walk/ cycle instead of taking transport, take stairs instead of lift/ escalator. 10. Cut down on total oil consumption. Too much fat & sugar slow us down.

Your answer is in your question itself. Not eating is causing you to gain more and more weight. The solution to your weight issues is to eat sensibly. Eat small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips.

Lybrate-user we suggest that one gets a fairly good readings from home based glucometers. As such there is no comparison between lab and glucometer because there are pit falls associated with both. As you are already on insulin and need to check frequently so using a glucometer is a fairly good idea. Hope this solves your query.

Your fasting and pp sugars are high. You need to take medicines for the same at the earliest. Stop all simple sugars or direct carbohydrates. Exercise in any form but regularly for about half hour at a time. You are still very young. So you should take control of diabetes as soon as possible.

Make a habit of consuming one well ripen banana with a cup of warm milk. Eat soaked dry grapes or dates soaked in warm milk overnight. Include protein rich food in your diet. If you are non vegetarian include eggs chicken and fish in your diet. No drink before meals.

Your sleep disturbance needs to be evaluated, you need to be taught sleep hygiene, if no results you may need not sleeping pills, but some pills which promote sleep naturally increasing sleep neurotransmitters, like melatonin. One needs to sleep between 6 and 10 hours average is 8 hours, surely you are way down, get checked

Hello lybrate-user, weight loss is the result of a holistic approach that includes- 1. Balanced diet rich in proteins and fibre like- egg, chicken, fish, milk, curd, paneer, sprouts, oats, wholegrain cereals and pulses, fruits and vegetables (fibre) 2. Exercise- doing 40-50 minutes of moderate to high intensity activity for 4-5 days/ week will help (walking/jogging/swimming etc) 3. Adding good quality fat like nuts and oilseeds-almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds (alsi) will help. 4. Rest for 7-8 hours to rejuvenate your system so it can work efficiently. 5. Water- having about 1 glass water every hour will help in flushing toxins from your system. You can continue green tea or warm water but have it 30 mins before meal to cut down your appetite.

Your weight should be around 80 to 90 kg with muscles. You need a weight gain diet. Weight gain is muscle gain and not fat gain. In your condition your energy requirement is very high so whatever you eat is used as a source of energy and you do not make muscle. To gain muscles you will have to eat at least 6 meals (high calorie) in a day at a regular interval with a proper ratio of proteins and carbohydrates. Proteins will help you gain body mass while carbohydrates will help you give energy. Protein foods are eggs, fish, chicken, milk and milk products, meat and dals. Carbohydrate foods are roti and rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes. You have to eat vegetables and fruits and use healthy and good fats for cooking like ghee, cold pressed mustrad or til oil. You will also have to do some weight training exercise to help you build mass into the body. Also drink enough water to keep you hydrated.
