Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism along with your daily diet and exercise routine. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Weight gain is all about taking more calories than you burn. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. There is no one food that helps weight gain. Eat meals at frequent intervals. You need to eat at least 6 main and mid meals a day. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits, dry fruits, starchy vegetables, rice, bread, whole grain cereals, smoothies, masala milk, ghee, cream in your meals. Just eating sugary, sweet foods is not good. Try to have healthy deserts like kheer, chikki or lassi. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. It helps development of muscle mass and improves appetite.  Even if you were to take just medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal and good exercise routine, it's crucial.

Dear red eye has many causes. You have to see if it is associated with blurring of vision, pain, discharge and other complaints. But commonly its allergic or infective in origin ie allergic or infective conjunctivitis. Which has simple treatment protocol. But still its wise to see an ophthalmologist for a thorough slit lamp examination to rule out other differentials for red eye.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user The senario you have given of your son, If his squint (I presume Convergent squint most likely) is fully corrected by glasses then surgery is not required. If even with glasses there is residual squint then surgery should be done early as remanent squint can detoriate vision in long run. It can develop lazy eye. Physical consultation will be ideal.

Surgery can be a good option because it can help him overcome immobility. If he is medically fit then the option of surgery is good. You can take a second opinion if you have not made up the mind. Post surgery, physiotherapy can help him a lot.

I have got my neck USG report, they found two tiny cystic lesions on the left and right lobe of thyroid,suggestive of benign lesions. I have hoarseness from last 2-3 weeks. Limit highly refined carbohydrate like white bread and pasta and focus on high fiber complex carbohydrate also known as slow release carbohydrate eg- brown rice, sweet potato, yam, whole wheat bread, oats, peas, green leafy vegetable and fat free low sugar yogurt. Eat whole fresh fruit instead of fruit juice. Take healthy fat from nuts, olive oil, fish oil, flax seed, whole milk. Eat fruits and vegetables. Take high quality protein like eggs, beans, milk, cheese, unsweetened yogurt. Eat less- trans fat[ deep fried items], saturated food [junk food] packaged and fast food, backed goods, sweets, chips, dessert, white bread, sugary cereal, processed meat and rice.

  1. Meditation: Meditation for a few minutes daily helps relieve anxiety. As per a research, doing meditation daily changes the neural pathways of the brain, thereby making it more flexible towards stress. Meditation is the simplest way to beat anxiety. All you have to do is just sit straight with feet on the floor and closed eyes. Next just focus your energy on reciting a mantra.

There are strategies which you can try to help you keep anxious thoughts away.

2. Give affirmations to yourself that everything is okay, you will get over the situation. Usually, affirmations are made to comfort one.
3. Know the physical symptoms as many times physical sensations like in case of a panic attack tend to trigger anxiety and stress. When you get used to the symptoms, the mind does not send signals for anxiety to the brain. Create exercise to habituate yourself to a panic attack. There is no cure for anxiety but the fastest way to get your anxiety under control is to simply manage it.
