Aaj 26 hai. Wait for a week. Do a urine test for pregnancy and wait for symptoms. If anxious to know before date. Get a blood test done for beta hcg hormone which is positive only when the woman is pregnant.

I want to make my wife pregnant. Period started on 6th of june. I had sex with her from 10th of june to 15th of june. Than she went to her maayka. Is it possible she gets pregnant?

MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Agra
Mostly ovulation occurs on 14th day of cycle. 2 days before & after that are fertile days. It means 17to 21st in this case. There are very less chances of her getting pregnant before 15th.

I suggest you to make relations wit your wife without worrying too much as you people are married recently. So relax but yes I would recommend you to have increased frequency from day 8 to day of your wife's menstural cycle as this is the most fertile period for you both .so all the best.

I got married last year in sep 2016 and from that time my wife is not conceiving. We went to doctor we made our all testes evry thing is all right please can you tell us what we will do.

Pregnancy is possible only on one day of cycle, day of ovulation when ovum is released from ovary of woman. That is why couple should have 12 to 24 cycles of unprotected sex around time of ovulation before going to Gynecologist or infertility specialist for further evaluation and advise. Earlier if woman is 30 or more.

Infertility Treatment - 4 Parameters To Consider

Gynaecologist, Gurgaon
Infertility Treatment - 4 Parameters To Consider

The inability to conceive after indulging in unprotected sex is known as infertility. It can also be referred to the biological incapability of a male to cause the conception or a woman being unable to carry the pregnancy for full term. Research has shown that female problems contribute to over half of all the infertility cases while a majority of the other causes include sperm disorders.

Treatment of infertility depends on:

  1. Cause of Infertility
  2. Duration of Infertility
  3. Age of both partners
  4. Personal preferences

Causes of infertility in women include:
1. Ovulation disorders: This is regarded as the most common cause of infertility in women. The disorders can be caused due to the following

2. Problems in fallopian tubes or uterus: Abnormalities in the uterus or fallopian tubes render the woman incapable of conceiving naturally. This might be due to:

3. Medications: There is a possibility that treatment will cure infertility. Examples include NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy.
Treatment of infertility might involve a significant amount of psychological, physical, temporal and financial commitments.
In men, treatment is done to treat lack of healthy sperm or general sexual problems. The treatments include:

  1. Medications
  2. Surgery
  3. Change in lifestyle
  4. Sperm retrieval

Even though it is possible to restore fertility in women using only one or two therapies, a number of treatments might be required before conception is possible. Some of these treatments include:

  1. Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
  2. Stimulation of ovulation with fertility drugs
  3. Surgery to restore fertility

In situations where pregnancy does not happen spontaneously, Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) can be used by couples to achieve pregnancy. It is a form of fertility treatment which involves the handling of sperm and egg. The entire ART team consists of psychologists, physicians, embryologists, nurses and lab technicians.

One common ART technique is In vitro fertilization (IVF). It is a process where an egg and sperms are manually combined in a laboratory dish, followed by transfer of embryo to the uterus. Some aspects involved in an IVF cycle are:

  1. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)
  2. Assisted hatching
  3. Donor eggs or sperm
  4. Gestational carrier

Some complications that may occur during the treatment of infertility are:

  1. Multiple pregnancy
  2. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Gynaecologist.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, DGO
IVF Specialist, Mumbai
Dear lybrate-user, You can get basic hormonal tests done for you along with your husband's semen analysis to know if there is any problem or not. If any hormonal disturbance, it can be corrected with medicines. Also you can go for follicular monitoring to confirm the growth of an egg and its exact time of rupture to increase your chances of conception.

The fact that you conceived spontaneously before means you stand a pretty high chance of conceiving again. 4 months is a very short time; give yourself atleast an year.

I have regular 28-30 days menstrual cycle. But this month flow become light. Approx. Flow of my menses is 4-5 days. But this tym only 3-4 days. I am in stress also. Is this is a reason. For light menses. Can I conceive with light menses?

MD (Hom)
Homeopath, Bangalore
Dear lybrate-user, If you are getting periods with a gap of 20 to 40 days which is considered as normal and bleeding for min. Of 3 days and max. Of 7 days also considered as normal flow. The amount of bleeding and the amount of passing of clots mainly depends upon maturation of endometrium. Due to stress, due to life style changes there will be chance of hormonal imbalance. Due to this, the amount of flow will high or less and the duration will be more or less. Conception mainly depends on ovulation. If you have good ovulatory cycles then chances are good for conception. Regards,

Various Causes Of Infertility!

Various Causes Of Infertility!

A problem in any one of a number of key processes can result in infertility. Male and female factors can exist in isolation or combination and fertility investigations, diagnoses and treatment should always be considered in the context of the couple.

Male factor
Sperm problems will contribute to about 40% of infertility cases. The normal working of the male reproductive system involves first the production of sufficient numbers of functional sperm cells and then the delivery of these sperm to the ejaculate. Key to the diagnosis of male infertility is a semen analysis, which assesses primarily sperm numbers, sperm movement and sperm form.

Female factor
Dysfunction of the female reproductive organs is also apparent in around 40% of infertile couples. The most common identifiable causes of female fertility problems are outlined below:

1. Ovulatory dysfunction, (or anovulation) where an egg is not released from the ovary every month, is the single most common cause of female infertility. Predominantly anovulation is caused by hormonal imbalances such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) but ovarian scarring and premature menopause can also result in failure to ovulate.
2. Tubal disease, comprising anything from mild adhesions to complete blockage of the fallopian tubes, prevents fertilised eggs from travelling from the site of fertilisation to the uterus. It may also prevent the sperm from reaching the egg. Normal uterine implantation can therefore not occur. The main causes of tubal infertility are pelvic infections caused by bacteria such as chlamydia, previous abdominal disease or surgery and ectopic pregnancy.
3. Endometriosis is characterised by excessive growth of the lining of the uterus. These endometrial cells can extend as far as the outside of the fallopian tubes, the ovaries and the bladder. As they respond to hormones the same way as they would do in the uterus, that is by growing and shedding cyclically, endometriosis can cause both fallopian tube and ovarian scarring.
4. Repeated pregnancy loss - Some people may not have difficulty conceiving, but have suffered from miscarriages. This is obviously extremely distressing for the couples involved. Our miscarriage clinic can help investigate these issues and attempt to help couples with any future pregnancy.

Less common factors
The following other factors may also be responsible for infertility in a smaller proportion of cases:

1. Genetic abnormalities within eggs, sperm or both
2. An abnormal uterine cavity, including the presence of fibroids or polyps
3. Immunological infertility, whereby either the male or female partner produces anti-bodies against sperm cells or implantation of an embryo
4. Abnormal cervical mucus which hinders the passage of sperm to the uterus and fallopian tubes
5. Unexplained infertility - Even when investigations have been extensive, some couples will have no reason with which to explain their infertility. This can often be a frustrating diagnosis. In these cases the duration of the infertility is the best parameter by which to judge the chances of future natural conception; the longer the time of infertility then the sooner intervention should be considered.

Please do consult a competent sexologist for unexplained infertility problems.

I am 28 year old. I got married 9 years back and started treatment 4 year back for get pregnancy. Doctor says all reports normal and went IUI process also. Still I didn't get pregnancy. What should I do.

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS
Homeopath, Vadodara
If all the reports are normal then there are certain things to look for. Do you have any stress. As I have found many couples who could not conceive just because they were very stressful and anxious regarding the pregnancy. Especially the fear what if they couldn't.So first relax and leave all the worries. Second there are chances that vaginal secretions are not providing the optimum environment to the sperm to live till they reach the ovum. And like wise. I am sure your doctor have taken these in consideration but still if you like you may take homoeoapthic medicine from a good homoeopath of your own choice.

Don't get over stressed, first take proper treatment for fever with adequate rest, wait for periods. Menstrual cycle get irregular during stress periods, fever is one of them. If your menses does not come in 7-10 days then show to gynaecologist.

I am trying to conceive till 1 yr. My Dr. ask me to do IUI test. Can this process works to conceive and how many chances of get pregnant after iui? Please answer this question soon its urgent.

MBBS, DNB Obs &Gynae, Diploma in Reproductive Medicine (Germany), Fellowship in Laparoscopy
IVF Specialist, Delhi
After trying for 1 year any couple should atleast get investigated To know the cause. So I would suggest you to go for those tests first and then decide accordingly whether it's required or not. Atleast the status of tubes should be clear before iui. Yes IUI has 15 To 20% increased chances of conception as compared to natural pregnancy. So if your tubes are open and husband sperm count is good then you can go ahead. All the best.

Hello doctor I want to knw about twins pregnancy I wish to have twins baby's Is it possible? Is there any treatment for it?

DHMS (Hons.)
Homeopath, Patna
Hello, The chances of having twins increases the rate of mothers over the age of 35 is more per 1000 maternities. This is hereditary, too, if your mother or her mother's mother is a fraternal twin, These women may carry a gene for hyperovulation which means they release more than one egg during an ovulation cycle, increasing their ability to conceive fraternal twins. The chances may increase if the mother is a fraternal twin herself. You should go for fertility drugs or undergo other fertility treatments as the availability of fertility enhancements has increased after fertility enhancing treatment is around 25%.You should consult your gynaecologist in this regard, please. Tk, care.

Homeopath, Secunderabad
Please go for a detailed examination along with your husband (as both the partners should be examined ). Certain important test will be done. Do not worry but take the right steps. Revert back with the reports. You can also take Homeopathy as it is safe and mild. It does not interfere with other medications. Medicines can be given to both the partners if required. For further information and consultation please contact me or come for online chat.
